
Awqaf Abu Dhabi showcases endowment management innovation at AIM Congress 2025

ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The Endowments and Minors' Funds Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi) has concluded its participation as Silver Sponsor of the Future Finance portfolio at the 14th Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress, held from April 7-9, 2025 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. This strategic partnership underscores Awqaf Abu Dhabi's ongoing dedication to shaping the future of financial services through advanced technologies such as AI and blockchain, enhancing the transformative power of endowment management to drive social wellbeing, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability.During the congress, the Director General of Awqaf Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, opened the Leaders' Session with a special address highlighting the evolving role of endowments as dynamic instruments supporting economic diversification and long-term financial resilience. Al Qassim emphasised Awqaf Abu Dhabi's strategic approach to endowment management, which surpasses traditional investment models to actively foster community growth, global social development, and strategic sector investments in healthcare, education and social welfare.His Excellency Al Qassim said, 'The AIM Congress 2025 has once again proven to be a vital platform for fostering global collaboration and innovation in the financial sector. At Awqaf Abu Dhabi, we believe that endowments are not just financial assets but powerful tools for driving sustainable development and economic diversification. Our participation in this congress reflects our commitment to leveraging emerging technologies to create long-term financial resilience while empowering communities and driving positive change. By aligning with global best practices and adapting to the evolving financial landscape, we are contributing to the emirate's growth trajectory.'Awqaf Abu Dhabi also showcased its diverse investment portfolio, which includes equities, Dh456 million in fixed deposits, more than 4,000 real estate assets, around Dh200 million in cash and Dh500 million in fixed deposit for minors and interdicted individuals and its flagship Dh1 billion Healthcare Endowment Fund.Launched in 2024 in partnership with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the fund plays a vital role in providing sustainable essential medical care to underserved communities, benefiting low-income expatriates, elderly residents and children from underprivileged families.With a diverse and growing portfolio of assets, including high-value income-generating investments, Awqaf Abu Dhabi adheres to the highest standards of wealth management.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah concludes visit to US to bolster bilateral cooperation

14 June 2025 15:07 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The second ADEK Awards has concluded with winners across public, private, and charter schools, recognising outstanding contributions of educators and school programmes within Abu Dhabi's education on the success of the inaugural edition, the 2025 awards included 16 categories, and provides recognition and financial prizes totalling AED7 million to 33 winners, with new areas highlighting efforts in AI integration, anti-bullying initiatives, school collaboration with ADEK, and expanded recognition for early education than 500 submissions were evaluated by subject matter experts, who identified impactful initiatives and meaningful efforts that went above and beyond in creating nurturing learning environments where students can truly awards also recognised 17 schools that showcased improvement in student progress and attainment across Standardised Benchmark Assessments (SBA) in English, Math, and Science. Dubai inspires Serbian officer to champion innovation and compassion in policing
14 June 2025 14:30 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)Lieutenant Colonel Dalibor Krstajić of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia has described his participation in the Police Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma, hosted by Dubai Police in partnership with the Rochester Institute of Technology, as a transformative experience that redefined his view of modern law almost two decades of experience in criminal investigations, task forces, and fugitive apprehension, Krstajić currently leads the Fugitive Active Search Team in about the programme, which brought together police officers from 38 countries, he said it offered invaluable exposure to innovative technologies, diverse leadership approaches, and, most notably, a powerful model of organisational compassion. 'The diploma opened my eyes not only to the future of policing in terms of artificial intelligence and smart systems,' he explained, 'but also to something more profound—the human element. What impressed me most was how deeply Dubai Police cares for its people.' An Emphasis on Officer WellbeingKrstajić pointed specifically to Dubai Police's Happiness & Positivity Council and internal wellbeing initiatives, which offer psychological and emotional support to officers.'It is rare to see a policing institution with dedicated structures focused on the wellbeing of its personnel,' he said. 'If I ever have the opportunity, I will suggest that our Psychology Department exchange knowledge, experience and practices in this area, as well as get the information about working model of Dubai Police".He added that while the technological capabilities of Dubai Police—such as AI-driven surveillance, drone operations, and smart police stations—were remarkable, it was the human-centred leadership philosophy that left the deepest impression on him. Strategic Learning and Practical ApplicationKrstajić noted that although the core of his current role is operational, the strategic leadership modules offered long-term value. He expressed particular interest in the use of future foresight tools, organisational planning, and adaptive leadership practices. 'Much of the knowledge gained here will benefit me in future roles. It gives you the tools to plan, to lead, and to think beyond day-to-day operations," the officer also praised Dubai Police's community engagement models, calling them 'clear examples of how trust and transparency can be cultivated through proactive communication.' Serbian PrideKrstajić was proud to witness the participation of Serbian teams in the UAE SWAT Challenge, an elite international competition held during the PIL programme. 'Seeing our officers perform on such a global stage was a moment of great pride. It also reminded me that international collaboration in policing is more vital than ever.' Inspiring Experience Reflecting on the overall organisation of the programme, Krstajić offered his sincere gratitude to Dubai Police. 'This diploma was not about abstract theories. It was built on real-world experiences and practical insights, shared by professionals with decades of field knowledge. It was a rare opportunity to learn, reflect, and grow—and I leave here inspired.' He concluded, 'Innovation is not only about technology. It is about doing what we have always done, but in a smarter, more thoughtful, and more human way. That is the lesson I take home with me from Dubai.'
