Eid Al Adha is just around the corner, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to spend a long weekend celebrating with loved ones across the UAE.

If you've opted to stay in the UAE instead of travelling and are looking to enjoy some quality time with family and friends, here's a quick guide to the best locations across the country where you can enjoy dazzling fireworks displays this Eid:

Dubai
Those visiting Dubai Parks and Resorts (DPR) can look forward to a spectacular fireworks display. The good thing is you don't need to buy a theme park ticket which costs Dh295 to enjoy the show.
The fireworks will be visible from Riverland Dubai, the vibrant area connecting all four theme parks.
Date: June 5 and 6
Time: 9pm
Entry ticket: While the fireworks show is free, one will need to pay for entry tickets to Riverland. Entry to Riverland Dubai is Dh20 at the counter, which can be used for food and drinks. Online tickets are available for Dh15, but they cannot be redeemed for food or beverages.
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi residents will be treated to fireworks displays at various locations throughout the long weekend:
Yas Bay Waterfront: June 6-8, 9pm
The Corniche: June 6, 9pm
Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain: June 6, 9pm
Sharjah
In Sharjah, residents can enjoy a dazzling fireworks show at popular communities including Aljada, Masaar, and Nasma Residences. The show will take place at 8pm on Friday, June 6.

Dubai Police make Eid Al Adha special for female inmates and their kids

Dubai Police are making an effort to include female inmates and their children in Eid Al Adha celebrations this year by distributing clothing and organising special programmes as part of their ongoing humanitarian and social efforts. The gift-giving is part of the 'You Made Me Happy' initiative at the Women's Prison aimed at "uplifting the spirits of the inmates and their children," Dubai Police said on Thursday, ahead of first day of Eid Al Adha. 'Aside from gift distribution, there were also entertainment programmes for children, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere filled with positivity," Dubai Police said in a statement sent to Khaleej Times, adding, "(The initiative) was aimed at "spreading joy and reinforcing values of tolerance and compassion." 'This initiative, now in its 11th consecutive year, is a clear testament to Dubai Police's commitment to the vision of our wise leadership in building a compassionate and cohesive society,' said Col Jamila Al Zaabi, director of the Women's Prison. 'We prioritise humanitarian aspects of our work, especially concerning children and female inmates. We want everyone - even those inside correctional facilities - to feel included and entitled to joy and hope,' she added. "(We) adopt a holistic humanitarian approach to managing female inmates, extending beyond correctional aspects to include emotional and social support, upholding their dignity and rights,' Col Al Zaabi continued. 'The Eid clothing distribution is not just a gesture but a message of hope, a reminder that they and their children are not forgotten,' she underscored.
