
Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White Eyeing Lead Roles in Aaron Sorkin's "Social Network" Sequel
Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White are eyeing the lead roles for Aaron Sorkin's sequel to the 2010 Oscar winner 'The Social Network,'.
According to sources with knowledge of the project, Sorkin has met with both Madison and White about the project despite no offers having been made yet.
Th project is still very much in the development stage and has yet to receive the green light from Sony.
Sorkin is set to write and direct the follow-up to David Fincher's 2010 original.
While that film followed the creation of the ubiquitous social media platform and the rise of its boy-genius founder Mark Zuckerberg, the sequel is based on 'The Facebook Files' from Jeff Horwitz.
Published by the Wall Street Journal in 2021, the series of articles exposed Facebook for its harmful effects on teens and its knowing proliferation of misinformation, which contributed to acts of political violence.
Todd Black, Peter Rice, Sorkin and Stuart Besser serve as producers for the sequel.
'The Social Network' garnered eight Academy Award nominations and took home honors for best adapted screenplay, best editing and best original score.
The film grossed $226 million at the global box office.

Mohamed Mounir Hospitalized, Postpones New Alamein Festival Show
Yara Sameh 'The King' Mohamed Mounir has postponed his upcoming show at the 3rd edition of the New Alamein Festival in North Coast, Egypt, which was initially set to take place on Saturday (August 16). The concert was postponed after Mounir suffered from a sudden health scare. He has been admitted to the hospital to undergo medical tests to determine the cause of his illness. Mounir's official Facebook page reassured fans that the acclaimed singer is in a stable condition and is currently receiving the necessary medical care. He will be discharged from the hospital in a few days and will complete his recovery at home. Mounir is expected to gradually resume his artistic activity and record the remaining songs of his new album. Born on October 10, 1954, Mounir is one of the Middle East's best singers. He released his 1977 debut solo album, 'Alemony Eneeki' on the Sonar record label, after completing his military service. The acclaimed performer has released over 22 albums and six soundtrack albums. Mounir, whose musical career spanned over three decades, presented various genres in his music, such as classical Egyptian Music, Nubian music, blues, jazz, and reggae. Mohamed Sobhi Discharged from Hospital
Yara Sameh Renowned Egyptian actor and director Mohamed Sobhi was discharged from the hospital on Thursday after a one-day stay in the intensive care unit (ICU). On Tuesday, Sobhi was rushed to the hospital after collapsing due to work-related fatigue. Gamal Sobhi, the actor's brother and director of his theatrical troupe, confirmed that he is in good health. A source close to the acclaimed actor added that though he had been transferred to the ICU, he is well and is in a fully conscious state. The source reassured that Sobhi has been admitted to receive medical care and to get some health issues under control and will leave as soon as his health is fully improved. Born on March 3, 1948, Sobhi is one of the most prominent stars in the Arab world. Dakota Fanning, Jake Johnson, Cory Michael Smith to Star in Untitled Romantic Drama
Yara Sameh Dakota Fanning, Jake Johnson, and Cory Michael Smith are attached to star in an untitled romantic drama written and directed by Joe Swanberg. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is set in various locations throughout Alaska. Fanning, Johnson and Smith also will produce alongside Swanberg and Ashleigh Snead, with Dan Johnson, Kathy Gitibin Parsa and Ariana Parsa serving as executive producers. The project marks Swanberg's fourth collaboration with Johnson, following "Drinking Buddies," "Digging for Fire," and "Win It All." Coming off of Netflix's hit series "The Perfect Couple" and her first Emmy nomination for her work in the streamer's miniseries "Ripley," Fanning next will team with sister Elle Fanning to produce and star in an anticipated film adaptation of the bestseller "The Nightingale" for TriStar, which is slated for release in February 2027. She'll also be seen starring in Peacock's thriller miniseries "All Her Fault," opposite Sarah Snook, as well as Bryan Bertino's Paramount horror film "Vicious." Johnson recently made his feature directorial debut with the comedic thriller "Self Reliance," which he also wrote, produced and stars in, and set the film up at Hulu following its SXSW premiere. Best known for turns in Fox's long-running sitcom "New Girl" and Starz's cult hit "Minx," which he also exec produced, he'll next be seen starring opposite Ben Stiller and others in Josh Greenbaum's pickleball comedy "The Dink," which he also produced, as well as the Apple series "Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed". Recently signing on to lead Jeremy Saulnier's "October," a Halloween-set fugitive thriller for A24 — Smith is coming off a starring turn opposite Steve Carell, Jason Schwartzman and Ramy Youssef in the HBO film "Mountainhead" from Succession's Jesse Armstrong. He also drew strong reviews for his recent turn as Chevy Chase in Jason Reitman's "Saturday Night". Smith will next be seen starring alongside co-star Dakota's sister Elle in "Sentimental Value," the lauded Joachim Trier dramedy that won Cannes' Grand Prix and is slated for release with Neon and Mubi this fall.
