Hajj: Nusuk card mandatory for pilgrims to enter Makkah
Muscat : Pilgrims will not be permitted to enter Makkah unless they hold a Nusuk card, confirming their Hajj permit.
Oman Hajj Mission said in a statement :"The Oman Hajj Mission reminds you and emphasises the importance of wearing your Nusuk card, which you will receive from licensed Hajj companies, throughout your stay in the Holy Land. Please note that the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not permit entry to Makkah and the Holy Sites unless you hold a Nusuk card, confirming your Hajj permit. To facilitate the provision of services, we hope you will pay attention and adhere to this requirement."

Al Hajri added that South Al Sharqiyah Governorate is unique in the presence of green turtles during the nesting period from June to August, making it a tourist attraction in the governorate. The Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate pointed out that visitors to the governorate during the summer can visit many historical sites such as (Bilad Sur Fort, Al Sunaysla Fort, Ras Al Hadd Fort, Jalan Bani Bu Hassan Fort, and Al Ayjah Fort), in addition to visiting tourist sites in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate during the summer, including the turtle reserve in Ras Al Jinz, Wadi Al Shab, Wadi Tiwi, Mebam Village, Masirah Island, Kabikab Tombs, and Falaj Al Jila, which has been classified on the World Heritage List.

Pilgrims prepare for Arafat as Hajj commences in Mina
Muscat: Pilgrims flocked to Mina on the morning of the eighth day of Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH to perform the Day of Tarwiyah, the first stage of the Hajj rituals, in an atmosphere filled with faith and humility. Mina, located in the heart of Makkah, is a central hub for Hajj rituals, where pilgrims gather to perform Hajj rituals of remembrance and supplication, reciting the Talbiyah frequently. On the Day of Tarwiyah, pilgrims spend their time in Mina, reciting remembrance, glorifying, and declaring Allahu Akbar (God is Greatest), and performing the five daily prayers, shortened without combining them, in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him). Pilgrims spend the night in Mina on the night of Tarwiyah, preparing spiritually and psychologically for the journey to Arafat on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, where the Great Stand (Waqfa al-Kubra), the greatest pillar of Hajj, will take place. The name "Tarwiyah" is associated with the Prophet Mohammad's replenishment of water before performing the rituals. After the Day of Tarwiyah, standing in Arafat, and spending the night in Muzdalifah, pilgrims return to Mina to throw the pebbles at Jamarat al-Aqaba on the day of Eid. They then spend the Days of Tashreeq performing the rituals, including stoning the three Jamarat (stones) daily from noon until sunset. Spending the nights of Tashreeq in Mina during the Nights of Tashreeq is obligatory, except for those who have a legitimate need to leave. These days are an opportunity for pilgrims to complete the Hajj rituals in an atmosphere of contemplation and remembrance. Mina is located 7 kilometers northeast of the Grand Mosque, within the boundaries of the Sacred Mosque in Mecca. It extends through a valley surrounded by mountains to the north and south, giving it a distinct geographical character. It is bordered to the Makkah side by Jamarat al-Aqaba, and to the Muzdalifah side by Wadi Muhsir. Mina is a designated place for performing Hajj rituals, as it is only inhabited during the Hajj season, making it a symbol that unites Muslims from all over the world. Mina is also a temporary city equipped with the latest facilities to accommodate millions of pilgrims. It includes air-conditioned camps, sanitary facilities, medical services, and security to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests of God.

Oman launches its first tourist hot air balloon project in Turkiye
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has launched its first tourist hot air balloon within the "Oman Balloons" project in Cappadocia, the Republic of Turkiye, as part of the promotional phase of the project. This initiative comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to develop and diversify the tourism product while strengthening Oman's position as a unique regional and international destination. The project aims to attract international expertise in hot air balloon tourism and localize it in Oman, contributing to the growth of tourism experiences and providing new options for both domestic and international tourists. It also aligns with the ministry's support for private sector-led tourism initiatives and enhances public-private partnerships to achieve tourism development goals. "Oman Balloon No. 1" will begin its first flights within the Sultanate of Oman from the Wilayat of Bidiyah in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, offering a unique experience to explore breathtaking landscapes from the sky, showcasing Oman's diverse tourism attractions. The balloon has been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority in Oman and features a design suitable for Omani weather conditions, with a capacity of up to 20 passengers in addition to the technical crew consisting of a pilot and an assistant. The "Oman Balloons" project is one of the qualitative initiatives supported by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism due to its active role in promoting experiential tourism and providing panoramic views of tourist sites.
