EA Sports announced Barkley as the cover athlete for Madden NFL 26 Monday morning. And it will not just any simple depiction of the star running back on the video game.
The image released in the announcement shows Barkley executing the fascinating reverse hurdle from the Eagles' Week 9 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He joins Donovan McNabb as the only Eagles to grace the cover of the game in its over 25 years of history. However, he is the first Eagles offensive player to be named to the Madden NFL '99 Club.'
Barkley followed the announcement with his statement on the honor.
"Starring on the cover of Madden NFL 26 and being named to the Madden NFL '99 Club' are both dreams come true," Barkley said. "I'm grateful to my teammates, coaches and Eagles fans for their support, and I can't wait to hit the field again to give Madden players more highlight-reel moments in Madden NFL 26."

Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards on 345 carries this season for a staggering 5.8 yards per carry. 13 of those touches ended in the end zone for the MVP candidate who finished just 101 yards shy of Eric Dickerson's regular season record.
While Barkley fell short of some deserved recognition with some league-wide praise, there's no question that the blend of his stellar season and shining stardom made him the right selection for the Madden cover this time around.

Caitlin Clark Surpassed as WNBA MVP Betting Favorite

Caitlin Clark Surpassed as WNBA MVP Betting Favorite originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Even as she sits on the bench, missing multiple games due to injury, Caitlin Clark remains the center of attention in the WNBA. Clark last saw game action on May 24, a 90-88 loss to the reigning WNBA champion, New York Liberty. She was then diagnosed with a strained left quadriceps, requiring approximately two weeks of recovery. Advertisement The Indiana Fever continued to lose their next two games before picking up their first win without Clark against the Washington Mystics 85-76 on Tuesday. While the Fever were in the midst of winning their third game of the season, Clark and her betting fans received unfortunate news. As per @PolymarketSport on X, Clark was surpassed as the favorite to win the WNBA MVP award this season. The new frontrunner to win the award is now the Minnesota Lynx', Napheesa Collier. Collier's odds are now minus-160, becoming the overwhelming favorite. Collier has emerged as one the WNBA's most consistent, talented players. She finished as the runner-up in MVP voting last season to A'ja Wilson. Advertisement Collier and the Lynx are playing as well as any player and team in the league right now, and were active on Tuesday night as well. Collier finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and one block during the Lynx' 88-65 win over the Phoenix Mercury. The Lynx remain one of only two undefeated teams in the WNBA at 8-0. The Liberty are the other undefeated team, sitting sit at 7-0. New York Liberty Remain Undefeated With Historic Win Against Washington Mystics

New York Liberty Remain Undefeated With Historic Win Against Washington Mystics originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The defending WNBA champion, New York Liberty continue to pace the league. After taking down the Washington Mystics 86-78 on Thursday night, the Liberty remain undefeated. They now sit at 8-0 on the season, tied for the best record in the WNBA with the Minnesota Lynx. Advertisement The Liberty seek to become just the fourth team in WNBA history to win back-to-back championships. While their roster consists of multiple MVP candidates, they win with a balanced attack. Their franchise's recent accomplishments also rival the best New York has to offer in the sports world. With a city that dons multiple professional teams in nearly every sport, the Liberty are the most recent to win a championship. As deep as New York sports history runs, the Liberty stand as the only team to hoist a championship trophy in more than a decade. The New York Giants are a distant second, last winning a Super Bowl in 2012. With that in mind, the Liberty's 8-0 start to this season is not only impressive, it's down right historic. As per @statmuse on X, the Liberty are the first professional New York basketball team to start a season 8-0. In the history of professional basketball (NBA, ABA, and WNBA), no team has ever gotten off to a start like the Liberty. Advertisement Statistically speaking, the Liberty are the best team in the WNBA this season on both sides of the ball. The Liberty's offense leads the league in points per game (91.1). Their defense leads the league in points allowed (72.1). And they also lead the league in field goal percentage (48.6) as well as blocks per game (5.7). New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu (20) celebrates with forward Breanna Stewart (30), guard Natasha Cloud (9) and center Jonquel Jones (35) after getting fouled on a made basket in the fourth quarter against the Las Vegas Aces at Barclays Center. Mandatory Credit: Wendell Cruz-Imagn Images The Liberty's chance to remain undefeated and move to 9-0 comes on Tuesday when they take on Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN. Former NFL stars Vick, Jackson to battle in Philly as HBCU coaches

Former Philadelphia Eagles teammates Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson will square off as opposing coaches in 2025 -- and they'll do so at the home they used to share. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rivals Norfolk State and Delaware State will meet on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Eagles announced the news Thursday featuring statements from Vick and Jackson, who are entering their first years as head coaches at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Vick is from the Norfolk, Va., area and took over Norfolk State in December. Jackson was hired by Delaware State soon after. It is the first head coaching position for both men, who played together for the Eagles from 2009-13. 'This is a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes to play in a world-class venue on a world-class stage,' Vick said in a statement. 'Coach Jackson and I made so many unforgettable memories together at Lincoln Financial Field -- this stadium holds special meaning in my NFL career. I am thrilled to be a part of this historic moment and want to thank the Philadelphia Eagles, Norfolk State and Delaware State for their collaboration to make this happen.' 'I came to Delaware State University to start a new phase of my career with a unique institution that cares about its students and is helping to transform their futures. I know Coach Vick feels the same way at Norfolk,' Jackson said. 'A part of that transformation is opening our students and scholar athletes up to a whole new set of experiences at the highest level. For our teams to be playing in Philly, at the Linc, on the field Coach Vick and I called home for many years will be special for our players, our coaching staffs, our alumni and fans, and for HBCU culture around the country.' Vick spent five of his 13 NFL seasons with the Eagles and made 42 starts at quarterback for the team. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2010 and overlapped all five years with Jackson, who was in the prime of his career and made the Pro Bowl in 2009, 2010 and 2013.
