Mum pays tribute 'cheeky and polite' teenager who died in Salford bike crash
The mother of a teenager who died in a motorbike crash says her "life will never be the same again".Kailem Robinson, 16, died alongside friend Kaine Darby, 17, after the bike they were riding together was involved in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Viva in Lower Broughton, Salford.Kailem and Kaine were rushed to hospital, but later died of their injuries. Kailem's mother Jill has now issued a heartbreaking tribute to her "baby", who she said "always had a passion for bikes".She said: "Kailem was someone who was always polite; he was popular with everyone and would do anything to help people out."He had a cheeky smile and infectious laugh and was known as the class clown in school, always making everyone laugh."He always had a passion for his bikes from a young age and would help other kids on the street fixing theirs. He was very lovable with me, always telling me he loved me."The news has shocked the community. He was so loved by everyone, including his teachers and friends. Kailem was the best uncle to his nieces."Following the crash, tributes and flowers were place at the scene of the crash by friends and family. People living nearby later complained of trouble as youths blocked roads and graffitied walls in tribute to the teenagers.The boys' families pleaded for calm, saying there were 'grateful' for the tributes, but didn't want trouble in the area.Jill said the community had 'railled round' her, taking her flowers and shopping and raising money for the family.She said: "I would like to thank the community of Lower Broughton for their support, from both those who knew Kailem and those who didn't."
"Everyone has rallied round to help with donations, flowers and a Go Fund Me page to help with the funeral. Kailem's friends have been amazing, bringing shopping round and just being here trying to comfort me and give me some normality."Kailem will be missed by everyone, the reaction from the community has shown how loved he was by everyone who knew him."My life will never be the same again, he was my baby. I miss you son."After the crash, the 24-year-old female driver of the Vauxhall 'stayed at the scene to assist officers', GMP said.No arrests have been made and 'the families of both victims are being supported by specialist officers as our investigation into the incident continues', the force added.Kaine's mother Danielle Hughes earlier paid tribute to a 'loving, caring, funny and genuine son, brother and friend', who she said she will 'miss so much'.
"As your mum, I had a bad feeling about this day, but you made your own decisions. I wish you didn't on this day, but if you're happy son, then so am I," she added.Danielle spoke out to condemn the behaviour of those who remained at the scene with incidents of vandalism and spray painting."I don't condone the behaviour that has been going on at the scene since the accident - the spray-painting, vandalism and motorbikes riding round," she said."This is not what Kaine would have wanted. We want peace and to remember Kaine calmly, surrounded by his loved ones."

Daughter of Benidorm attack victim in plea for answers
The daughter of a British man who died after being attacked by a stranger in a Spanish resort city in 2018 has renewed her call for information to help find his killer. Mike Rydings, 48, from Wythenshawe in Manchester, was celebrating a friend's 50th birthday and watching the World Cup at a bar in Benidorm when he was set upon in the early hours of 23 June. His daughter Hayley Barker said witnesses saw him backing away "with his hands up" before he was punched in the face, leaving him with a broken nose and serious head injures after falling on to the concrete. Mr Rydings was treated in a Spanish hospital before being moved to Salford Royal, but died 14 months later. Ms Barker said an investigation by both Spanish and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) had failed to find identify the attacker, despite GMP interviewing a range of British holidaymakers who were at the Hippodrome Bar at the time. "It makes me feel angry," she told BBC Radio Manchester. "My dad was stolen from me in such cruel circumstances, whoever has done this still gets to live their life."We can't move forward as such because we don't have justice." She called for anyone who may have new information that could help to contact GMP. "It would mean the world - we'd actually get some answers, it's what we deserve as a family," Ms Barker said. GMP said while the investigation was the responsibility of Spanish authorities, they were ready to assist if required. She said her father was 5ft 10ins (1.55m), had a stocky build and was wearing a red Hugo Boss t-shirt and glasses at the time of the attack. While Ms Barker said she had great memories of her dad being "the life and soul of the party" before his attack, her children had no memory of him. She said she was pregnant with her first child, a daughter, when Mr Rydings was attacked. "He never even got to hold her because of the condition he was left in before he passed away," she said. Daughter's tribute to Dundee mum who suddenly died in front of family on Perthshire holiday
A Dundee woman has paid tribute to her 'superwoman' mum after she suddenly died on a family holiday. Louise Beattie tragically passed away in front of her two youngest kids and partner Steven Milne at Tummel Valley Holiday Park, in Perthshire, on Tuesday afternoon. The 45-year-old leaves behind three children: Euan Shaw, 13, Eliana Shaw, 14 and 24-year-old Emily Mather. The family was celebrating Steven's upcoming birthday at the Parkdean resort near Pitlochry when the tragedy unfolded. It is understood that Louise had a seizure in the pool at the holiday park. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the exact cause of her death is unknown. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances. Emily, who is from Dundee but now lives in Manchester, told The Courier: 'She was always caring and had so much time for those around her. 'My mum was always a giver, and never a taker, and would go out of her way for anyone. 'Many people will remember my mum as the 'stamp lady' outside Deja Vu nightclub. 'She was a real superwoman of a mum, she had a heart of gold and was some character.' Former Baldragon Academy pupil Emily previously told of how pole fishing saved her life after she lost her gran in 2021. She added: 'We're not sure what caused her death yet, but it was a medical incident. 'A biopsy will take place at the beginning of next week. 'It's been a difficult few days, but I just want to make sure I'm there for the kids. We're all pulling together.' Family friend Hollie has set up a GoFundMe page to help the family give Louise the 'send-off she deserves'. It's already raised thousands of pounds. Speaking to The Courier, Hollie said: 'Louise laughed her way through life, everything was funny to her and she was a very good friend to have. 'She was always the first person at your door when something was up. 'It's been a really challenging time for the family, and the fundraiser will help them all out. 'She was the best mum and she deserves the best send-off ever, for the kids too. 'Sleep tight Louise, we will miss you forever.' Emily added: 'Every donation means a lot and is very much appreciated.' A spokesperson for Tummel Valley Holiday Park said: 'Our thoughts are with the deceased, and we would like to send our deepest sympathies and condolences to their family and friends during this difficult time.' A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 3.40pm on Tuesday we were called to Main Road, Tummel Bridge, Pitlochry, following a report of concern for a woman. 'Emergency services attended and the 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. 'There are no suspicious circumstances and her family are aware. 'A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.' A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: 'We received a call at 3:30pm on Tuesday to attend an incident at Tummel Bridge, Pitlochry. 'We dispatched one ambulance, a paramedic response unit (PRU), a BASICS Scotland doctor and an air ambulance to the scene.'
