General Hospital spoilers: Sonny kidnaps Marco, and Sidwell retaliates in a devastating way?
It shouldn't be lost on any General Hospital viewer that Carly (Laura Wright) recently begged Sonny (Maurice Benard) not to escalate the tension with Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
After Kristina (Kate Mansi) was caught in the fire at Charlie's and Lucas (Van Hansis) went to his big sister to plead Marco's (Adrian Anchondo) case, Carly went to Sonny and cautioned him to handle this mob threat differently. The Metro Court owner evoked all the past mob-related tragedies involving his children and warned him to be "better" this go-around in handling his enemy.
Although Sonny took his ex's words under advisement, judging by the following preview clip, it appears that the Dimpled Kingpin decides to do things his way and kidnap Marco. Not only that, but it seems Sonny even goes to Sidwell to talk about what's 'fair game.'
To be honest, we can't say we blame Sonny here. Sidwell has been gunning for Sonny for months and has nearly killed two of his children. Also, it's not like the Port Charles Police Department has been helpful in solving these crimes or preventing further attacks. The Corinthos patriarch is just a man trying to protect his family, and authorities have left him practically no choice but to take action on the Sidwell front.
With that being said, Sonny kidnapping Marco will most assuredly elicit a strong response from Sidwell. Marco is Sidwell's only child. So what might Sidwell do?
If we had to guess, considering Sidwell has proven to have an affinity for explosives, he may venture to blow up Sonny's piers. Although Sidwell would like to ultimately acquire the piers for himself, he is a man with a big ego, and we wouldn't be shocked if he'd rather watch them burn just to prove a point to Sonny. This, of course, could mean an innocent bystander may find themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time and caught in the explosion. But Sidwell likely wouldn't care.
However, should Sidwell venture from his usual form of villainy, then he may retaliate against Sonny by kidnapping a Corinthos heir. Considering Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) warned Sidwell not to do anything to Carly or her loved ones, Sidwell might leave her children and grandchildren with Sonny alone. If so, then this could spell bad news for Kristina, Avery (Ava & Grace Scarola), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza).
Now, Sidwell likely won't target Kristina because she was just caught in the fire at Charlie's, and he wasn't pleased his lackey made the error in setting fire to the pub while she was there. He also probably won't go after Avery, given her age. And though he isn't stupid enough to kidnap a cop, he is probably unhinged enough to kidnap a cop's son, which leads us to Gio.
Let's not forget that Tracy (Jane Elliot) has been warning Gio about Sonny and the danger he brings. Plus, Sonny recently cautioned Gio about hanging around him until this Sidwell issue is dealt with. Have the warnings been foreshadowing danger to come for the violinist?
Should Gio find himself in danger, we secretly hope it's Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) who comes to his rescue. Her saving his life would probably go a long way in repairing their fractured mother/son relationship.

General Hospital Recap: Chase Pleads Willow's Case to Michael originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's General Hospital recap: Chase tells Michael he ran into Willow, but Michael doesn't want to hear the story. Chase plays the adultery card so Michael agrees to listen. Chase sings Willow's praises and asks him to give her a break. Michael says Willow put the kids in an unsafe environment and did everything Drew wanted. Chase wants to blame Drew, but Michael says Willow has done bad things as well. Chase says Willow is hurting and can't' wait until October for the asks for Michael to show her some compassion. Lulu complains to Carly about Liesl and wants her help getting rid of her. Carly says Liesl helped Willow with the bone marrow and is connected to her. Lulu pushes so Carly asks if Liesl is an actual threat to Rocco. Lulu says Britt stole him and how terrible those first months of his life were. Carly says Britt evolved. Carly brings up Britt saving Josslyn's life, and Lulu understands but says it doesn't erase what she did to them. Lulu says Rocco is starting to see Britt as his mother too and she isn't. Lulu says Britt stole the connection with Rocco. Carly says if Lulu isn't careful, she'll push Rocco away. Previous General Hospital (GH) Recap: Anna Warns Brennan About Carly's Wrath Laura asks Dante if Sonny kidnapped Marco, but he says Marco isn't pressing charges and there is no evidence against Sonny. Dante asks if she wants him to investigate and says they can't build a case if the victim isn't interested. The two discuss Rocco and Dante is as upset as Lulu about Liesl's involvement. Laura says Rocco needs to hear the stories and he and Lulu should be open. Laura says Lulu is just going to end up pushing Rocco away. Sonny takes Justine to the hospital to have her leg checked out after a rough softball game. When Willow comes to check her in, Sonny asks for another nurse which piques Justine's interest. Sonny complains to Justine about Drew ruining Willow's life. He says he wishes Willow had come to her senses sooner so she and Michael could work things out. Sonny says he's surprised the judge awarded Michael sole custody. He thought Willow would get visitation without Drew and Justine admits it is odd the judge was so harsh. Later, Sonny offers her a ride home. Willow and Isaish discuss her situation and how she's hopeful she will be back with her kids. She complains about Drew and how she should have listened to everyone. Willow lets it spill about him blackmailing Portia which catches Isiah's interest. She begs him not to say anything. Willow brings up Chase's friendship and how she cheated on him with Michael. The Deception women discuss what to do with the information that Sonny's investment was dirty. Tracy lets them know telling the police is a mistake and they need to protect the company. Lucy and Brook Lynn agree but Maxie says they'll be in trouble if the truth comes out. Tracy says they could lose everything including their freedom. Maxie continues to push so Tracy puts it to a vote, which Maxie loses. Liesl congratulates Rocco and Danny on their softball win and wants to celebrate their victory. Jason sends the boys off and reminds Liesl that Rocco's parents don't want her spending time with him. He tells her not to put Rocco in the middle and says she should be truthful about her involvement in it. Liesl wants to discuss Britt with Rocco, but Jason reminds her that they weren't related, as Britt stole the embryo. He tells her to respect Dante and Lulu's decision and not to come between Rocco and his parents. Danny asks Rocco about Liesl and Britt. Kevin James ‘Couldn't Believe' Everybody Loves Raymond Ended Up Being A Hit, And He Explained Why He Thought It Was ‘Death' At First

Everybody Loves Raymond is arguably one of the best sitcoms of all time, and it's still a favorite among fans, thanks to streaming. The show ran for nine seasons and over 200 episodes from 1996 to 2005. While it remains a cultural phenomenon, King of Queens star Kevin James didn't think the show would do all that well. With that, the fan-favorite actor revealed why he didn't think it would actually become a hit. Before James starred on The King of Queens, he appeared on Everybody Loves Raymond (not as Doug Heffernan, though). James was also a writer on the show early into its run. The actor recalled on Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson's podcast, Sibling Rivalry, how he would follow Ray Romano around when he landed King. James' goal was to learn everything from Romano about how to lead a sitcom. They had also been friends for a while due to their stand-up work. Given his knowledge of Romano's approach, James was puzzled as to how Everybody Loves Raymond came to be: The fact that he got a show, I was like, first of all, I couldn't believe it, because he's such a low-energy guy. Sitcom guys were, to me, like the big, wacky [characters]. I'm like this, this is death. It's not gonna happen. So, all in all, Kevin James didn't seem too sure how the show would work out because he knew what kind of characters and storylines were typically involved in sitcoms. Romano's comedic style didn't quite fit that mold. Despite the comic's low-energy vibe, though, Everybody Loves Raymond clearly ended up doing a lot better than James predicted. So much so that the Grown Ups star ended up going to Romano for advice after he landed his own show: And then it did. And he was so good on his sitcom. And the way he threw things away, I was like, 'Wow, I have to watch him and learn from him, because I'm going to be too big on camera.' And I am, by the way, still even in The King of Queens, when I see episodes now, I'm like 'Gee, throw it away, kid.' I'm like 'Gee-wiz, I wish I could go back and do it.' The fact that Kevin James didn't know how Everybody Loves Raymond would do and basically called it a death sentence is very funny in hindsight. Not only that, but the show arguably could have have aired longer if creator Philip Rosenthal didn't choose to end it when he did. As for The King of Queens, the advice that James got from Romano didn't seem to hurt, since the CBS sitcom also ran for nine seasons from 1998 to 2007, finishing its run with 207 episodes, just three shy of Raymond's total. King is also still quite beloved and is still the subject of a viral meme. Given that we're currently in the age of revivals and spinoffs, it's not surprising that Romano is asked about a reboot quite frequently. Romano admitted in 2024 that he's protective of the series since it's very personal to him, which makes sense. If he were to have a good idea for a revival and Rosenthal were to get on board, I'd be down for it. Of course, for now, fans will have to settle for streaming the '90s show. At the very least, both Everybody Loves Raymond and The King of Queens proved to be successful and heavily contributed to their lead stars' careers. I don't know about you, but I'm glad Kevin James' initial thoughts on Raymond were wrong. At present, grab a Peacock subscription and stream both shows.

Helldivers 2 players ask for better UI with in-game info but joke it "would break 50% of the game," director says "that's mean... and also sadly true" but "we are working on an improved system"

Less than graceful and not always intuitive, it's been a bugbear within the multiplayer shooter's community since it came out back in early 2024. In discussing their hopes for an improved system, players commented that doing so would cause a lot of problems elsewhere within the game's structure. Johan Pilestedt, creative director of Helldivers 2 and CCO of Arrowhead Games Studio, responded to this jab on Reddit, offering agreement and teasing improvements in the pipeline. "Hey! That's mean... and also sadly true. Our UI system is very cumbersome to develop - but we are working on an improved system that will allow us to build in-game UI faster," Pilestedt comments. "Also, we made a decision early to focus on Discord as the primary platform for the community. (As it's what we use internally for playtests and for other games)." The official Helldivers 2 Discord server is a pillar of the playerbase, where people socialize online together and receive updates from the development team. Polls on prospective changes and such are voted on through the server, and players would like more in-game functionality for these features, to make sure as many can vote as possible. Though such a thing may sound simple enough, game development is rarely so simple. As Pilestedt states, editing the UI in any way is currently a difficult proposition. But, from the sounds of things, Arrowhead is working on how to make this easier for everyone, potentially lowering the gap between the players and Discord users in the process. Discord has been an invaluable tool for Helldivers 2's community, especially as the audience scaled up dramatically soon after release. But clearly the overall reliance is something that needs altering, and Arrowhead's working on ways to do that. Watch this space.
