I speak for all boxing fans when I say I hope Saturday night's card is better than Friday's show at Times Square. On Saturday night, Canelo Alvarez will seek to add the WBO super middleweight title to his collection as he takes on William Scull in the main event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
On Friday night, Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, and Rolly Romero produced victories in a mostly lackluster fight card from the iconic venue in New York.
Canelo and Scull headline the card in Saudi Arabia that also features the rematch between Jaime Munguia and Bruno Surace. Here is a look at the start time and full card for the event.

Bakole-Ajagba is a battle of two heavyweights with hopes of ascending into championship contender status. Bakole suffered a second-round KO loss in his last fight, which was a late-notice bout against Joseph Parker in February. Bakole was promised he would still get the opportunity to face Ajagba, and Turki Alalshikh, the President of the General Entertainment Authority, made good on the pact with the powerful African heavyweight.

Despite his loss to Parker, Bakole maintains lofty potential as a man with the potential to present any heavyweight a problem if he has a complete training camp.
Munguia is out for revenge. He was savagely knocked out by Surace in 2024 in a fight that was supposed to be a homecoming event for Munguia in Tijuana. Munguia is getting an opportunity to avenge the defeat on the undercard of a former foe in Canelo. Surace has a chance to prove that his victory was no fluke and that he has what it takes to be a player at 168 pounds.

One of the most underrated fighters of the past decade, Jack defends his cruiserweight title against Mikaeljan in a fight that could be the most competitive of the night. Jack often finds himself in wars, and Mikaeljan is primed to oblige. Despite being arguably the lesser-known of the matchups, it could be a sleeper.
To put it plainly, no one is giving Scull much of a chance to pull an upset against Canelo. Some sportsbooks have Canelo as a minus-5000 favorite. If there is much of a question about the outcome of the bout, most would say it is involving the method of the Mexican icon's victory.

Canelo hasn't finished an opponent since 2021, but neither has Scull, which would suggest this fight has a good chance to end in a decision. Either way, Canelo is expected to have his hand raised at the end of the night. If he doesn't, we will have another story.

Chicago Stars players started trivia nights for fun. The result was a stronger team bond.
The NWSL season is long, with games starting in March and rolling through November. The Chicago Stars have found a fun way to release the pressures of the year — and bond. The soccer players meet up weekly to try their hand at Waddayaknow Trivia, a free event started in 2008 at multiple bars in Illinois to keep family and friends connected in the Chicago area. Everyone needs a break, but trivia keeps the mental — and competitive — juices going. 'It's really nice to connect to something that's not on the field,' said defender Sam Staab, who has one goal and one assist this season. While Staab and the rest of her teammates knew each other to a degree, they were not the 'closest of friends' starting out. But playing trivia has brought them closer than ever. 'Now they look forward to hanging out every (week) and shoot the s—,' Staab said. 'Eat, play some trivia, hang out and catch up. So it's fun, and not soccer, which is really fun, too.' For the 1-2-8 Stars, formerly the Red Stars, they discovered these trivia nights at a normal team hangout at a bar. The club met up in 2024 to watch Caitlin Clark — whose Indiana Fever visited the Chicago Sky at United Center on June 7 — break the college basketball scoring record in her senior season at Iowa. A worker came up to the group with a suggestion. 'We were having dinner at the place and they (said to) come up and sign up for trivia and it starts in 20 minutes,' Stabb said. 'We all looked (at each other) and said 'Oh my gosh, we should totally play.'' The competitive spirit of the Stars looks the same whether on the pitch or guessing trivia answers. Once a year, there is a Tournament of Champions where over 300 teams compete for a grand prize. The Stars take the event 'seriously,' as well as the weekly qualifiers. 'You wager what you think is best for each answer, so Sam is also our wagerer,' midfielder Shea Groom said. Staab added: 'And I keep people on track as well. I'm a control freak, if you couldn't tell.' The Stars won their most recent round of trivia, with a full squad on hand: Along with Groom and Stabb, the group included forward Catherine Barry, defender Hannah Anderson, midfielder Maitane Lopez, forward Ava Cook, goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz and defender Justina Gaynor. Each player has their individual role for answering questions, with random knowledge a necessity. Hailing from different areas of the globe brings a worldwide perspective to the trivia team, which is an advantage. 'We all went to college for different things, where maybe other teams work together and are in the same field,' Groom said. 'Ava is our music expert, Alyssa (Naeher) is pretty much random knowledge and I like to claim U.S. geography and African geography. We really balance each other out.' 'We have this diverse background,' Staab said. 'We're able to answer a lot of questions, or just have at least educated guesses on a lot of things. And we just kind of kept going with it.' The squad — named Cheeseburgers in Paradise — is on a winning streak now, claiming victory in their last two trivia outings. They usually finish in the Top Five, with the first-place prize a $50 restaurant credit. 'We got into a streak where we were up to probably $300, then we started (buying) dinner and actually eating,' Groom said. There's not a certain method of training for trivia days, as any question in any category can pop up on any given day. Categories can sway from old sitcoms to presidential history. Groom tries to stay prepared each week, as much as she can be, at least. 'I memorized the entire map of Africa,' Groom said. The trivia nights are 'pretty chill,' a welcome feeling for any professional athlete. And when sports is your day job, you might as well play that card when it helps. 'There was a question about the World Cup that Alyssa (Naeher) knew, and we wrote on the bottom (and asked) if we get extra points if we have a winner,' Groom said, referring to the Stars goalkeeper's two World Cup wins. 'And they did give us extra points.'

How worried should England fans be after defeat by Senegal?
England's defeat by Senegal was their first since a 2-1 loss to Greece in October [Getty Images] With exactly one year to go until the start of the 2026 World Cup, England do not look like a side ready to end 60 years of hurt. They were beaten 3-1 by Senegal at the City Ground on Tuesday, with Thomas Tuchel tasting defeat for the first time since taking charge. Advertisement It may have only been a friendly with a much-changed team, but the loss was met with a chorus of boos from fans in Nottingham. Tuchel says there is "no need to panic" but, with the countdown on to the World Cup, how concerned should England fans be? 'We let the country down' Before defeat by Senegal, England had won all three matches under Tuchel, beating Albania, Andorra and Latvia without conceding a goal. But Senegal's victory - the first for an African side against England in 22 attempts - soured the mood for some supporters. "We let ourselves down. We let the country down. We let the badge down. It really wasn't good enough," said England midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. Advertisement "It felt like after we went 2-1 down, that's when we started to play. That's when we started to have that freedom and try and do something with the game, but we should have started the game like that." Tuchel replaced Gareth Southgate following last summer's defeat by Spain in the Euro 2024 final. While Southgate guided England to two finals and a semi-final during eight years in charge, they struggled to get over the line in major tournaments. Another of the main complaints was the lack of identity in their playing style, and there has been little evidence that Tuchel has shifted the team in a new direction. Tuchel signed an 18-month contract when he replaced Southgate. For others, there is plenty of time left for him to get to grips with the job and to better understand his players. Tuchel picked an experimental starting XI against Senegal, with Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalaboh and Levi Colwill in central defence and Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze on the wing. "We had a lot of changes with a lot of players that don't have so many caps playing together because I wanted to see them in exactly this situation," Tuchel told BBC Radio 5 Live. Advertisement "It is the second camp; there is a lot of learning going on for all of us. At the moment it is tough learning. "We need to stay calm. It is not what we expect from ourselves, result-wise, and we need to accept the criticism and get better. "The World Cup is not next week. I am still confident." Former Manchester City and Sheffield United midfielder Michael Brown told Football Daily: "Let's not have one of these negative feelings again towards this national side. "Look at the back four. We had Kyle Walker, who made the mistake, who is very experienced. And the next three along the line - very inexperienced. Advertisement "The intensity changed when we made the substitutions and we had all the attacking players on. "The way we dropped off, I feel we were a little bit afraid. That is the danger; that is the worry." Where do England stand? England are top of their World Cup qualifying group with three wins from three. They resume the group phase with a home game against Andorra on 6 September, before a further four qualifiers to make it to next summer's World Cup - and a friendly against Wales in between. Provided they qualify automatically, there will be opportunities for friendlies in the international break in March and in the weeks before the World Cup. Advertisement England played two friendlies before Euro 2024, beating Bosnia-Herzegovina before losing to Iceland. Should Tuchel do the same, England will likely have at least nine matches before the World Cup, with five qualifiers and four friendlies. Is that enough for Tuchel to build a World Cup-winning side?
