WHAT HAPPENED?
According to a report from Sky Sport, the Bavarians have had a second offer for Woltemade rejected by Stuttgart. The improved bid, €50 million (£43m/$58m) plus €5m in performance-related add-ons and a 10 per cent resale clause, was swiftly turned down. Stuttgart are reportedly holding firm on their €65m (£55m/$70m) valuation and have made it clear they won't enter formal negotiations unless that figure is met. Despite the player's growing desire to leave and Bayern's urgency following Jamal Musiala's injury, Stuttgart remain unmoved, determined to either keep their star man or extract maximum value if he does depart.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Woltemade enjoyed a breakout season with Stuttgart, playing a key role in their DFB-Pokal triumph and helping the club secure a top-four Bundesliga finish. He also impressed on the international stage, starring at the European Under 21 Championship and earning his senior Germany debut. With Bayern urgently needing to reinforce their attack following after Musiala's long-term injury, they see Woltemade as the ideal creative link behind Harry Kane.
However, Stuttgart are in no rush to sell, remaining firm in their stance and signalling they are prepared to keep the 23-year-old until his contract expires in 2028 unless an irresistible offer arrives. That position has been repeatedly reinforced by chairman Alexander Wehrle, who declined to confirm or deny the latest bid but maintained a consistent message.
He said: "We are not negotiating with Bayern Munich. I made my position very clear five weeks ago, and nothing has changed, Nick Woltemade will play football for us next year."
WHAT MITTELSTADT SAID
Still, interest from Bayern continues to mount, and even team-mate Maximilian Mittelstadt admitted he understands why Woltemade might want to make the move to Bavaria.
Mittelstadt told Sky Sport: "If there's such an opportunity for Nick, then on the one hand, you can understand why he wants to leave. Ultimately, it's his decision. He's fully integrated with us. There would be no need to try to re-employ him; he's still a fully-fledged member of our team. We're happy to have him back and don't expect him to leave the club."
WHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN & WOLTEMADE?
Negotiations remain open, but Stuttgart are unlikely to back down on their valuation. Bayern may return with a third bid as Musiala's absence adds urgency. Meanwhile, Woltemade must walk a tightrope, pushing for a move without alienating the fans or his teammates. With the window still open, this transfer saga is far from over.

Chelsea close to 2026 agreement with Strasbourg's Emanuel Emegha

Chelsea are closing in on an agreement on personal terms with Strasbourg centre-forward Emanuel Emegha (22) for a move to the Blues next summer, according to French media . The 22-year-old had a remarkable breakthrough season with Liam Rosenior's Alsatians last season. The Sparta Rotterdam youth product logged 14 goals and three assists in 27 Ligue 1 games. With Habib Diarra and Andrey Santos both departed, respectively to Sunderland and parent club Chelsea, Emegha has been appointed Strasbourg captain, despite being only 22. But next season could very well be Emegha's final campaign at La Meinau. An agreement is reportedly in the works for Emegha to join Chelsea from the 2026-2027 season onwards. Sports Zone adds that RB Leipzig have been made aware of the situation. The Bundesliga side considers Emegha a top priority if Benjamin Šeško (22) leaves the Red Bull Arena. The Slovenia international centre-forward is reportedly of interest to Newcastle United. Leipzig have reportedly been in contact with Chelsea regarding Emegha's future. GFFN | Bastien Cheval

Update On Tottenham Hotspur In Their Pursuit Of This Bayern Munich Talent: Good Choice For Frank?

In a recent post on X, journalist Sebastien Vidal offered an update on Tottenham Hotspur and their pursuit of Bayern Munich talent Joao Palhinha. It has been claimed that Spurs are ready to launch a £45m bid to land the Portugal international in this summer transfer period. Palhinha's Decent Form In The Bundesliga The 30-year-old proved his worth at times for Bayern in the previous campaign, but was sidelined for a lot of games for them because of injury. Palhinha played in 25 matches for the Munich outfit last season in all competitions. Palhinha gave a good account of himself in the middle of the park as he made 20 tackles, 13 blocks and 4 interceptions in the Bundesliga. He was even tidy when distributing the ball from midfield, based on his pass completion rate of 92.4% in the German top flight (stats via Palhinha's current contract at the Munich club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Tottenham would have no choice but to meet Bayern's demands for their prized asset in this transfer period. MUNICH, GERMANY – SEPTEMBER 01: Joao Palhinha of FC Bayern München looks on during the Bundesliga match between FC Bayern München and Sport-Club Freiburg at Allianz Arena on September 01, 2024 in Munich, Germany. (Photo by) Is Palhinha A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank? Palhinha is a tough-tackling midfielder who can make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half when he is playing well on the pitch. He usually clears his lines when required and is an accurate passer of the ball from midfield. Standing at 1.90m, the Portuguese sensation is a strong presence in the air. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League from his time at Fulham and won't take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham. Palhinha would inject more bite and steel into Spurs head coach Thomas Frank's midfield department. He is capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season. At 30, Palhinha has still got plenty of football left in him to play at a high level. Therefore, Tottenham would do well to lure him back to English football this summer. Furthermore, Palhinha might even help Spurs challenge across all fronts in the coming seasons. With all things considered, it makes sense for Frank to try everything in his power to snap him up before the end of this transfer period.
