The original Black Sabbath lineup — Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — will reunite for a final show on July 5th at Villa Park in the band's hometown of Birmingham, England. The all-star bill will also feature an Ozzy solo set, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and many of the other biggest names in heavy metal and rock music.
The rest of the lineup will include Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon, making for one of the biggest metal gatherings of all time. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 14th, at 10am local time.
The concert — dubbed 'Back to the Beginning' — will mark Black Sabbath's first show since they wrapped up their farewell tour in February 2017, although that outing did not include Bill Ward. In fact, the last time the original lineup performed was 20 years ago at Ozzfest 2005.
Meanwhile, Ozzy hasn't played a full show since the end of 2018, after a series of health setbacks forced him to postpone and eventually cancel the remainder of his own farewell tour.
'It's my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born,' Ozzy stated. 'How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.'
Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello will serve as musical director of the concert, noting, 'This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.'
In addition to the aforementioned acts, the all-day music event will also feature Morello, Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan and Slash, Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Jake E. Lee, K.K. Downing, Mike Bordin, Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Sleep Token's ii, Ghost's Papa V Perpetua (revealing the frontman's new identity), Wolfgang Van Halen, and Zakk Wylde, with more to be announced shortly.
Profits from the show will benefit CureParkinson's, Birmingham Childrens Hospital, and Acorn Childrens Hospice.

Sharon Osbourne Makes Unexpected Change to Black Sabbath Final Concert Lineup

Sharon Osbourne revealed she was forced to remove a band from the lineup of Black Sabbath's long-awaited Back to the Beginning concert next month. In an interview with Metal Hammer, the wife of Ozzy Osbourne, who manages the rock legend's career, explained that she got into a dispute with the manager of one of the bands that had been previously announced for the show. 'I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath,' Osbourne told the outlet. 'And it was probably the worst way I've felt in years. And I don't care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn't know me. And he's now going around making up bulls--- lies because I threw his band off the bill.' Osbourne quickly shut down speculation that the band she kicked off was Iron Maiden, despite her past criticism of lead singer Bruce Dickinson. As recently as 2022, Osbourne described Dickinson as a 'f---ing a--hole' in an interview with Consequence that rehashed his disrepectful behavior at Ozzfest two decades ago. The Back to the Beginning concert is set for July 5 at Villa Park, Birmingham, England. Ozzy Osbourne will reunite with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for the final performance of his career. A flyer for the farewell show teases the addition of Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon to the lineup. There's also a long list of solo performers scheduled for the event. Tool and Rival Sons were listed on a previous flyer posted to Reddit. While she stayed mum on the booted band's identity, Osbourne, whose father, Don Arden, was the longtime manager for Black Sabbath, told Metal Hammer that the biggest thing she learned from her dad was, 'you've got to fight…that you can't let people take advantage of you. ' 'My father was extremely confrontational,' she added. 'Sometimes he took it too far.'Sharon Osbourne Makes Unexpected Change to Black Sabbath Final Concert Lineup first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 10, 2025

Legendary Guitarist, 77, Shares Fears Ahead of Final Show

Legendary Guitarist, 77, Shares Fears Ahead of Final Show originally appeared on Parade. They say you only get one chance to make a good first impression. For Tony Iommi, he's worried about making a good final impression. Advertisement Iommi will wrap his illustrious career on July 5 when he and the rest of Black Sabbath—Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler—play Back To The Beginning. The landmark metal event, happening at Villa Park in Black Sabbath's hometown of Birmingham, will be the final time that these four share the stage, and that has Iommi feeling the pressure. "This would be a big, monumental thing if it all comes good," he told Metal Week(per Metal Hammer), adding that he feels "excitement mixed with fear" in the lead-up to this farewell performance. "The worrying thing for me is the unknown. We don't know what's going to happen," he explained. "Normally, when we'd tour, we'd rehearse and run through the thing for a while, and it's just us. But with this event, there are so many other moving parts." Advertisement Additionally, fellow rockers such as Wolfgang Van Halen, Billy Corgan, K.K. Downing, Jonathan Davis, and Zakk Wylde will perform, with people forming supergroups throughout the event. "You're used to Ozzy running around," said Iommi, but he certainly won't be doing that for this show." Osbourne, who will also perform a solo set before joining Black Sabbath, has publicly disclosed his struggles to walk due to Parkinson's disease. Iommi said he didn't know if his bandmate was "going to be standing or sitting on a throne or what" when he closes out the night. And Iommi stressed that this is the band's finale. Advertisement "It's absolutely the end," he said. "This show has come up because of the situation [Ozzy's health] and because it's a charity thing. But there's no way we could go out and do a tour. Everybody in the band is looking forward to doing it, though it's a nerve-wracking thing, as we'll be touching on some stuff that we haven't done for a long time."
