I let AI choose my summer glow up, a change made such a difference but another made me look like an 80s rollerskater
IT SEEMS we've all gotten used to asking AI to help us out - from getting the time from Siri, planning a holiday, and even giving us a makeover.
And for me, it was time to see how AI could help me look my best for summer.

With my 30th around the corner and a handful of weddings to attend, I want to make sure I look my best.
But when you're stuck doing the same make-up routine day in and day out, it can be hard to decipher what looks work for you.
But now Chatgpt allows you to put a picture into their system and give you pointers, I decided to give it a go.
I sent an image of myself with my usual hair and make-up and asked it to give me some tips for a summer glow up.
It took a few goes to get the algorithm to understand what I wanted, but after just a few minutes, it came up with the ultimate makeover list.
The AI system was happy to tell me what I had already nailed (sculpted brows) and what I wasn't doing so well with (dull skin, thank you).
Here's a full list of Chatgpt's recommendations
I decided to take on the advice fully and gave myself a total transformation, and here are the results.
Primark drops brand new Benefit dupes ahead of summer - there's a copycat of the iconic bronzer and even a freckle pen
Hair
The AI bot recommended I add some lighter and warmer tones to my hair, which is already pretty ginger and to add some loose waves.
I begrudgingly curled my hair before brushing it out for a softer look and I have to say, it did make my hair look fuller and suited my round face shape.
While I hate taking the time to curl my hair, this will be something I'll add to my routine for special occasions.

Skin
I felt personally attacked by its description of my dull skin that needed a bit more glow (I just got off a long-haul flight, okay?!), but couldn't agree more with the bot.
Instead of slapping some moisturiser on and being done with it, I took my time using a toner to help close my pores and brighten the skin before going in with a face moisturiser and an eye cream.
Not only did my skin feel so much more hydrated, but it also made applying my makeup much easier and gave it a better finish without clinging to dry skin.

Top beauty trends for 2025
Hayley Walker, Beauty Expert at Justmylook spoke exclusively to Fabulous about the big beauty trends for 2025.
Haircare
Hair gloss treatments are a must-have as beauty enthusiasts love the salon-quality shine and enhanced colour delivered by the trending treatment.
Hair glosses are multifunctional, as they nourish the hair while offering a vibrant, healthy-looking finish, combining 2025's core trends. This treatment is perfect for those seeking an affordable, at-home glow-up.
2025 will focus on skin repairing and texture-enhancing treatments.
Skincare
Rejuran treatment, a celebrity-endorsed procedure, will see a rise in demand this year as many seek to enhance their skin's appearance. The procedure entails injecting polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA to enhance skin texture and elasticity. 'Rejuvenation is expected to dominate 2025 skincare trends as many seek to achieve a flawless, youthful complexion.
Skincare will also include back-to-basic products for a simplified routine.
Ginseng cleansing oil and panthenol cream are among the trending products for 2025. The cleansing oil is excellent for dissolving make-up and impurities without clogging pores and is enriched with nourishing properties to leave the skin feeling and looking refreshed and radiant.
Make-up
Make-up trends will follow suit to achieve youthful and radiant looks. Under-eye brighteners will be sought-after products for delivering coverage while enhancing natural radiance. This beauty tool will complement natural beauty while improving and brightening dull skin.
Make-up looks will be bigger and bolder in 2025 with cluster lashes expected to surge this year. These lashes bring the glam to glamorous looks as they deliver dramatic volume to enhance everyday or special occasion looks.
Peel-off lip stains circulated the beauty industry in 2024 and are expected to dominate in 2025. The growing popularity of this product is due to its ability to provide long-lasting, transfer-proof colour to lips, enhancing a natural aesthetic. Additionally, cherry-coded aesthetics are expected to be everywhere this year as the deep, rich hue can be achieved using peel-off lip stains or bold lip looks for a dramatic effect.
Nails
2025 will be another year of countless, show-stopping nail trends. Goddess Nails and Aura Nails deserve an honourable mention as these designs channel an ethereal, celestial aesthetic for bold, self-expressing nails.
Make-up
Now, I am no expert when it comes to make-up, so this was the step I was most concerned about.
I rarely experiment with my make-up routine and often feel like I look like a kid who got into their mum's makeup bag when I do try, but I was willing to give it a go.
It suggested a more dewy base than what I'm used to, so I went in with a simple tinted moisturiser and light-weight concealer around the eyes and to cover any blemishes.
Instead of using powder all over the face, I concentrated it on my T-zone and under my eyes to keep a dewy finish to the skin.
Once the base was practically done, I went in with a cream blusher in a rosey colour as instructed as well as a little highlighter along the cheekbones, cupid brow and the arch of my eyebrows.
I have to say, looking in the mirror, the blush and highlighter seemed to make a massive difference, and gave my cheekbones a little more definition to make my face look less puffy.
It also suggested I add some bronze eyeshadow to the eyes and add a winged liner.
While I usually add a small amount of eyeliner, I tend to skip eyeshadow out of laziness but found it made my eyes more of a focal point without looking too heavy.
Last but not least, it was time for lippy, a step I notoriously skip as I hate the feel of it.
They recommend a glossy coral/pink hue that I wasn't a fan of.
I already know coral isn't my shade so I opted for a light, slightly warm pink and was still unimpressed with its recommendation.
The bright colour was too much of a contrast for me, and the gloss only made it more apparent leaving me looking like an 80s rollerskater.
Ditch or Keep? Keep (minus the lipstick colour)
Accessories
Last but not least were accessories, something I tend to keep to a minimum.
Fortunately, Chat GPT had correctly guessed my choice of metal (gold), so I chucked in a pair of small gold hoops to finish the look.
Ditch or Keep? Keep
Final Verdict
I'm actually rather impressed with the glow-up Chatgpt made for me, the hair added a little extra to my look while the dewy skin was perfect for summer.
The addition of highlighter gave my face some much-needed definition and the bronze shadow was easy to apply and accentuated the colour of my eyes.
While I will skip the lippy recommendation and go for a more rosy hue, the overall makeup was a nice step up to my usual routine without looking too dramatic - perfect for summer.

How a tech genius immigrant turned Nvidia into a $2TN business
Back in 2010, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told an interviewer that the most fun part of any game or business venture is 'when you're losing.' It may then be safe to assume that Huang isn't having much fun right now. Nvidia, the computer chip designer spearheading the artificial intelligence revolution, saw its market capitalization top $2 trillion early Friday morning. Its technology - once used to create graphics for video games - is capable of training AI models to perform tasks like image, facial, and speech recognition as well as generating text for chatbots like ChatGPT. Nvidia's unlikely success story from a niche tech firm to America's third biggest company has catapulted Huang to the 20th richest person on the planet with a net worth of $69.7 billion, Bloomberg estimates. It marks an astonishing reversal of fortune for a shy former Denny's worker who was bullied at his Kentucky school after arriving from Thailand when he was nine. But then everything about Huang's story is astonishing and showcases the powerful potential of when hard work, perseverance and good luck combine. Today, the 61-year-old father-of-two lives with his wife Lori on San Francisco's Billionaires' Row where homes cost tens of millions of dollars and you can count tech giants Larry Ellison and David Sachs as neighbors. The 11,400-square-foot, seven-bedroom property boasts panoramic views of the city's Gold Coast and has an estimated worth of $44 million, according to Redfin. Property records show Huang also owns a home in Maui, Hawaii - with an estimated value of $33 million - while he sold a third place in Los Altos, California, for $9.9 million in 2022. As his wealth has ballooned, Huang too has transformed. Once a geeky, unassuming computer scientist, he is now a Silicon Valley rockstar - armed always in his trademark black leather jacket and with a tattoo of the Nvidia logo on his left arm. His life now is a world's away from his childhood which was, by his own admission, steeped in adversity. Huang was born Jen-Hsun Huang in Taiwan in 1963 but spent the bulk of his early life in Thailand. His fortuitous move to the US came after his father, an employee of air conditioner manufacturer Carrier, visited the country for training and vowed to send his sons there, Huang previously told CNBC. In preparation, his mother would teach him English by reading ten words of the dictionary to him each day - despite not understanding a word of it herself. Aged nine, he and his older brother traveled to America unaccompanied to live with relatives. His early life in the states was shaped by a somewhat bizarre series of events: Huang's aunt and uncle, from Tacoma, Washington, accidentally enrolled him and his brother at a Baptist boarding school in Kentucky - under the mistaken belief it was a prestigious prep school. While there, his long hair and accented English made him a target for bullies. In a recent profile with the New Yorker magazine, he calmly told an interviewer: 'The way you describe Chinese people back then was '[expletive].' Still, he speaks highly of his time at Oneida Baptist Institute (he donated $2 million to build a new girls' dorm at the school) and credits it for instilling his 'fanatical' work ethic. His chores as a schoolboy included scrubbing all the toilets in his three-story dorm every day. While studying, he also displayed a near-prodigal talent for table tennis that led him to be described in a 1978 issue of Sports Illustrated as 'perhaps the most promising junior ever to play table tennis in the Northwest'. He went on to become a straight-A student in high school and developed his passion for computing while studying for a degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University. Huang graduated as computers were breaking into the mainstream in 1984 - the same year Apple released its first Macintosh and the term 'cyberspace' was coined. It was also at Oregon that he met his wife, Lori - one of the few girls on his engineering course. Together, they have two adult children, Spencer and Madison. In a 2010 interview with the New York Times , Huang described himself as a 'very introverted' young man and 'incredibly shy' - something he was forced to overcome while washing dishes and waiting tables at Denny's aged 15. At the time, the US minimum wage was just $2.65 an hour. He told the Times: 'I was horrified by the prospect of having to talk to people.' It was maybe a serendipitous turn of events then that his journey with Nvidia also began at Denny's diner in 1993. There, he ate a Super Bird sandwich with mayo and mustard while chatting to his two fellow co-founders about the potential for a company that specialized in computer chips to render graphics. Over 30 years - and a brief brush with bankruptcy - Huang steered Nvidia into a leader in manufacturing graphic processing units (GPUs) which were predominantly used for video games. But he realized the happy coincidence that GPUs had great potential for AI which requires significant processing power. This gave Nvidia a head start in the market. One Wall Street analyst recently commented: 'There's a war going on out there in AI and Nvidia is the only Arms dealer.' It is now estimated to have more than 80 percent of the GPU market. The chips are worth tens of thousands of dollars each and have become so treasured they are reportedly delivered between some companies by armored car. Nvidia's significance in the AI revolution was first made clear following the hype around artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT. News that ChatGPT had trained on a Nvidia supercomputer saw the latter's value balloon by around two hundred billion dollars on May 25, 2023. It was one of the largest single-day gains in stock market history. Those familiar with the company are in no doubt its success is down to Huang's creative vision, lofty ambitions and work ethic. A true Silicon Valley eccentric, he is famed for writing hundreds of very short emails every day - something his staff has likened to 'haikus.' He has previously said he does not have his own office in the company's Santa Clara headquarters - instead opting to hot desk in different conference rooms each day. One told the New Yorker that interacting with him was like 'sticking your finger in the electric socket.' Such is his commitment to the firm he co-founded more than 30 years ago he has joked of transforming himself into a robot so he can remain at its helm for many more decades. Nevertheless, his management style appears to have proven popular. The company has a 4.6 star rating (out of five) on workplace review site Glassdoor. Huang himself has a 97 percent approval rating as CEO. Explaining his attitude to business, he told the NYT more than a decade ago: 'Maybe it's because I grew up in the video game era, but I've never beaten myself up about mistakes. When I try something and it doesn't turn out, I go back and try it again.'

Audi Delays ICE Phase-Out, Will Launch More Gas Cars
Gas Power Is Sticking Around At Audi A few years ago, Audi said it would stop selling gas-powered cars in 2033. At that point, many major automakers had set plans in motion for their own discontinuation of gas models, but many have realized this move was a bit premature. Audi's CEO has now confirmed that the German brand is backtracking on the 2033 decision. Instead, it will keep developing new ICE models for the foreseeable future, with no definite date at which ICE models will cease development. Source: Audi RS6 engine Flexible Powertrain Choices Essential Gernot Döllner, Audi CEO since 2023, told Autocar that he 'had not been the one to communicate the end date' of the brand developing new ICE models; rather, this was a decision taken by previous management. Explaining why he changed the brand's strategy, Dollner said he 'believes in flexibility' when it comes to powertrains. 'Audi is launching from 2024-2026 a completely new line-up of internal combustion engine and plug-in hybrid vehicles, and that gives us complete flexibility for at least another seven, eight, maybe 10 years, and then we will see how our markets develop. We have already decided to extend the production beyond the communicated end dates of the past.' This will be music to the ears of Audi enthusiasts, especially fans of the brand's high-performance RS division. While models like the RS e-tron are exceptionally quick, they can't match the emotional qualities of an RS6 or RS7 with their V8 power plants. Döllner Doesn't Rule Out Return Of R8 And TT Döllner made some interesting statements about Audi's Formula 1 team, saying this team would 'inspire us to think about road cars of the future.' Asked specifically about the return of the TT sports car and R8 supercar, he said the company was 'thinking about everything… we are car guys, let yourself be surprised. There is room for Audi in such fields. We are evaluating different options but it's a little too early to talk about that.' This is not the first time Döllner seemed keen for a TT revival. And, while rumors of a new, all-electric R8 were swirling a few years ago, that came before Dollner's statement that Audi will continue developing gas engines. In light of this, a new gas-powered R8 isn't entirely off the table, but it will likely feature some level of hybridization. While some enthusiast brands like Jaguar are going all-in on an electric future, we're pleased to see that Audi has been willing to change course. About the Author Karl Furlong View Profile

EastEnders star Michelle Ryan reveals she turned down HUGE US role as Zoe Slater returns to Walford
EASTENDERS legend Michelle Ryan has revealed she turned down a massive role in the US - as she makes her shock return to Walford as Zoe Slater. Nearly 20 years after waving goodbye to Albert Square, Michelle is stepping back into Zoe Slater's heels as part of a dramatic new storyline. 5 5 The actress, 40, kept a low profile in recent years, admitting she 'never ruled out a return' - but says the timing had to be right. But Michelle revealed she turned her back on a shot at Hollywood fame - by snubbing an audition for hit US series Boardwalk Empire. The EastEnders icon wanted to try out for the role eventually snapped up by Kelly Macdonald in 2010, but gave it a miss over fears of being tied into a five-year contract. She admitted the long-term commitment made her think twice - despite the role being in one of the biggest HBO dramas of the decade. Boardwalk Empire was a critically-acclaimed American period crime drama that aired on HBO from 2010 to 2014, spanning five seasons. Set during the Prohibition era in 1920s Atlantic City, the series followed the rise and reign of corrupt political figure Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Steve Buscemi). The stellar cast also included Michael Shannon, Michael Pitt, Stephen Graham as Al Capone and Shea Whigham. Created by Terence Winter (The Sopranos) and produced by Martin Scorsese, the series was a hit with critics and fans alike - bagging two Golden Globes, 20 Emmys, and plenty of praise for its stylish production, gripping storylines and powerhouse performances. Despite ending after five seasons, it's still remembered as one of HBO's most lavish and ambitious shows. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Michelle wrote: "What a phenomenal series this is. Another by Terence Winter. I love Kelly McDonald, she is just so compelling in her role. EastEnders' Michelle Ryan reveals emotional secret reunion with soap cast before Zoe Slater's bombshell return "My agent at the time, back in 2010 wanted me to meet for a part on this for casting, I passed. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ A big mistake for sure. I was wary of five year contracts back then. "Anyway, things happen for a reason. And the actress who was given the role is so so so good. I love what she did with the part. "It also taught me that when you read a pilot it doesn't show you the entire part of a character and that when it's a new series it will evolve, lesson learned! "Everyone in the series is incredible. It's such a luxurious piece. And I'm only on season one! Yay." Michelle shot to fame playing feisty Zoe in the early 2000s - best known for the iconic 'You ain't my mother!' scene with on-screen mum Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace). Forgotten soap storylines The nation's soaps have had many gripping storylines play out over the years. However, some plots proved to be far less memorable. Here are some forgotten stories from Weatherfield, Walford and more... Coronation Street Ken and Audrey's romance (2015): After the death of wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride), Coronation Street original Ken Barlow (William Roache) started to move on in his life. He started to develop a spark with old friend Audrey (Sue Nicholls), with then-Corrie boss saying it would be like "Ross and Rachel". In the end, nothing ever came of it and the two remained platonic pals. Beth's bigamy (2016): Despite being happily married to Kirk (Andrew Whyment), a troubling secret came to light about Beth Tinker (Lisa George). It transpired that she had never divorced from her first husband, Darryl (Paul Loughran), father of her son Craig (Colson Smith). Although Craig and Kirk were shocked - and Beth was arrested - the storyline didn't didn't go much further. EastEnders Kat Slater's secret son (2017): Capitalising on the popularity of Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie), the two received a spin-off back in 2017. Titled 'Redwater', it saw the two travel to Ireland where they met long-lost son Luke, now called Dermott Dolan, played by Oisín Stack. Despite the high-tension events during Redwater, Kat seems to have put the experience behind her as Dermott's not been mentioned since. Alfie's brain tumour (2015): Having learned in 2015 that he had a brain tumour, Alfie kept the news from Kat until their trip to Ireland. At the time, actor Shane Ritchie revealed fans would see a change in Alfie as he battled the illness. It would appear that at some point after leaving the Square, was told the tumour was non-malignant. By the time Alfie returned in 2022, fans were left confused over what had happened to the storyline. Kathy and Buster's affair (2016): In 2016, Walford legend Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) fell into the arms of convict Buster Briggs, played by Karl Howman. Buster was the long-time lover of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and fathered both her sons - Mick (Danny Dyer) and Dean (Matt Di Angelo). When Buster left, he begged Kathy to join him, but she refused for the sake of her family. Meanwhile Buster didn't even stop to say goodbye to Shirley before exiting with a broken heart. Fans expected a showdown between the two women, but this never came to pass. Emmerdale Jacob's OCD (2016): After his dad, David (Matthew Wolfenden), was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) developed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This manifested in the form of cleaning. Jacob's OCD made a brief return one year on, after David had another scare after finding a lump. Jacob frantically searched the bins for a 'lucky coin' that had accidentally been thrown away. Despite stressful situations - such as being groomed by his teacher Maya, losing his fiancee Leanna to a serial killer, dealing with mum Leyla's drug addiction, and surviving a stabbing - the condition doesn't appear to have returned. Marlon and Charity's fling (2003): Few fans would likely remember few will remember the one-night stand between Charity (Emma Atkins) and Marlon (Mark Charnock) in 2003. The pair slept together when Charity was staying with Marlon while still under suspicion for husband Chris's supposed "murder". Hollyoaks Alex Browning's revenge plot (2014): Fans expected a confrontation when Dr Browning's son Alex (Ojan Genc) mer stepmum Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe). After all, Mercedes, with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin) had murdered Alex's dad, double-murderer Dr Paul Browning, after he kidnapped and attacked his new wife. In fact, the soap teased Alex would seek revenge for his father's death upon arriving. However, he instead gave Cindy's son Hilton (his half-brother) a life-saving transplant, became his godfather, and leaving the village soon after. The iconic character made her dramatic return to Walford after two decades away, but viewers are already speculating there's a hidden agenda behind the familiar face resurfacing. Some viewers are convinced she's not here for a cosy family catch-up. Instead, they think she's got unfinished business with Ross and stepson Joel, who rocked up alongside Vicki Fowler earlier this year for Martin Fowler's funeral. Since landing on the Square, teen Joel has been ruffling feathers - and while fans have uncovered a string of his dark secrets, one mystery remains... who's his real mum? Now, viewers reckon Zoe could be hiding the ultimate bombshell. Taking to the Instagram, one fan wrote: "We reckon she's Joel's mum!" Another added: "Omg it will be crazy if she is acc Joel's biological mum!" A third penned: "You ain't my mother' to be recreated with Zoe & Joel, I predict." Viewers will see Zoe in two further episodes this week - but she will be on board full-time this summer. EastEnders new boss, Executive Producer Ben Wadey added: 'Before I even stepped into the role, Zoe Slater was on my wish-list of returnees as, although we haven't seen her on screen for twenty years, her character has transcended time due to her popular storylines.' 5 5
