Man admits death of cyclist and setting car on fire
A man has admitted causing the death of a cyclist by dangerous driving, and then setting his car on fire to destroy evidence.
Keiran Hunt, 37, appeared at Leeds Crown Court for his first hearing on Friday, where he entered a guilty plea to causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
John Shelton, 48, from Astley, Greater Manchester, died at the scene on Ridge Road in Micklefield, after he was struck by a white Volkswagen Golf on 28 April last year.
Mr Hunt, of Field View, Micklefield, was remanded in custody until sentencing on 2 July.

Kenilworth: HS2 works closes link road with Coventry
A busy road linking Coventry to Kenilworth in Warwickshire will shut for a month for work to be carried out on the HS2 project. Three men arrested and two injured in fight
Three men have been arrested after two others were injured during a fight in Sutton Bridge on Friday evening, Lincolnshire police said. The force said it was called just after 19:50 BST to reports of a fight on Bridge Road near the Curlew Centre, which then spread near to New Road. A man in his 20's was taken to hospital with injuries caused by a knife. Police said his condition was not believed to be life threatening. Three men, aged 20, 28 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in custody. Ch Insp Richard Nethercott said: "I think the local community will be concerned when they hear the details of the incident last night. "I can reassure people that we have those involved in custody and our officers will be speaking to them over the course of the day and maybe longer." Police impose dispersal order over car- meet plan
Police have imposed a dispersal order in two towns due to concerns about a large number of cars meeting up. Essex Police has issued the order for Harlow and Epping from 18:00 BST on Saturday until 06:00 on Sunday. Recent events have involved vehicles being driven at "excessive speeds" and carrying out "dangerous manoeuvres", the force said. Officers can order people suspected of being involved in the car-meet to leave the area or face arrest, banning them from returning for 48 hours. Officers will be in "key locations across both districts to enforce the order", the force added. Law abiding road users and the public would not be affected by the order, it also said.
