Five-Star Myson Johnson-Cook Commits to 2026 Navy All-American Bowl
Myson Johnson-Cook (DeSoto, TX/ DeSoto High School), the five-star prosect has officially accepted his invitation to the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl. Having been selected to play in the twenty sixth edition of the Navy All-American Bowl, Johnson-Cook will play in the annual East vs. West matchup on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The Bowl will be nationally televised, live on NBC at 1:00 PM ET, and will feature the nation's top 100 high school football players.

Johnson-Cook was selected by the Navy All-American Bowl Selection Committee, comprised of the All-American Bowl, 247Sports, and NXGN. Navy All-Americans are eligible for the Navy All-American Bowl Player of the Year Award, Anthony Muñoz Lineman of the Year Award, Navy All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the Year Award, Navy All-American Bowl Man of the Year, and Navy All-American Bowl Game MVP Award.
Only 100 football players receive the honor of wearing the Navy All-American Bowl jersey each year. The 2026 Navy All-American Bowl from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, will be presented live on NBC and Peacock.

DALLAS (AP) — The Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving have agreed on a $119 million, three-year contract with the All-Star guard still recovering from a torn ACL that will sideline him into the 2025-26 season, a person with knowledge of the deal said Tuesday night. Irving is declining the $43 million player option in the final year of his current three-year contract, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal isn't expected to be finalized until the start of the new league year on July 6. The new contract will align Irving with co-star Anthony Davis, who joined the Mavericks in the seismic trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February. Davis has three years remaining on his contract, with a player option that now will be the same season as Irving in 2027-28. The agreement with Irving came on the eve of the NBA draft, with the Mavericks poised to take former Duke star Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick after winning the draft lottery despite having just a 1.8% chance to do so. Irving also is a Duke alum, as is young center Dereck Lively II. Once the nine-time All-Star returns from his injury, perhaps in December or January, all three among Irving, Lively and Flagg figure to be in the starting lineup if they are healthy. The 33-year-old Irving came to the Mavericks in a 2023 trade after a tumultuous tenure in Brooklyn. The idea then was to pair him with Doncic, and a year later the duo led Dallas to the NBA Finals for the first time in 13 years. Boston beat the Mavs in five games last June. The stunning decision to send Doncic to the Lakers elevated Irving's status, although Davis' championship pedigree with the Lakers essentially put the two on even footing. Irving, who has averaged 23.7 points and 5.6 assists over 14 seasons, and LeBron James won a title together with Cleveland in 2016. Davis went down with a groin injury in his Dallas debut, and before he could come back, Irving sustained his knee injury about a month after the Doncic trade. Skeptics were plentiful when the Mavs traded for Irving, who wanted out of Brooklyn after 3 1/2 seasons of disappointments on the court and plenty of drama off it. Earlier in the season he was dealt to Dallas, Irving was suspended by the Nets for what became eight games after the team said it was dismayed by his repeated failure to 'unequivocally say he has no antisemitic beliefs.' That came shortly after Irving refused to issue the apology that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver sought for posting a link to an antisemitic work on his Twitter feed. Irving also wound up losing his long relationship with Nike as part of the massive fallout from what he tweeted and the reactions that followed. Irving also missed much of the 2021-22 season because of his refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19, which left him essentially ineligible to play in Brooklyn's home games for much of the season because of New York City rules put in place in response to the pandemic. There has been no such drama in Dallas, and Irving has enjoyed a resurgence in his career. He was on an expiring contract when the Mavs traded for him. During the 2023 offseason, Irving stayed with Dallas on a three-year deal with a player option in the final season. Now he's about to do it again.

Tyrese Haliburton injury: Pacers star goes down in Game 7
Tyrese Haliburton went down with what looked like a potentially devastating injury Sunday just minutes into Game 7 against the Thunder. Haliburton looked to drive the ball but immediately crumpled to the ground in pain. The Pacers star needed help walking off the court. It's unclear at this point what Haliburton's injury could be, but the initial fear is a potential Achilles tendon injury. The play looked similar to when Celtics star Jayson Tatum also suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, when Tatum also went down to the ground and couldn't put any weight on his injured leg. Advertisement The Pacers are looking to become an unlikely NBA champion, but it looks like they'll have to do it without their best player. The only silver lining is that Indiana has leaned on its depth heavily throughout this playoff run. But still, it's an emotional injury to lose a leader like that in the middle of a Game 7 against a great Thunder squad. If Haliburton's injury is projected to be long-term, it'll be a brutal blow for a Pacers team that was set to be a threat in the East going forward. Diontae Johnson reveals reason he refused to enter game for Ravens that led to suspension
If Baltimore was too cold for Diontae Johnson, then he may have wanted to do a little bit more research on Cleveland weather before he signed with the Browns. Johnson, who played for three different teams during the 2024 season, admitted in an interview on the 'Sports & Suits' podcast earlier this month that he had refused to go into a game that the Ravens played on Dec. 1 against the Eagles, a Week 13 loss. The Baltimore area experienced a day in which the high was 44 degrees and the low was 21 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The Ravens suspended Johnson for the following game after his refusal, and it eventually led to a breakup between the receiver, who Baltimore acquired from Carolina at the trade deadline, and the team with his release in mid-December. Johnson was cut after two games, and he reportedly became visibly upset and had to be calmed down by teammates after the playoff win over the Chargers, with the displeasure over his role leading to his release.
