Princess Beatrice once posed a heart-wrenching question during a Royal event, shedding light on the impact of her parents' split on the young Royal.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson tied the knot in an extravagant ceremony at Westminster Abbey in 1986, but their relationship soon faced challenges.
Due to Andrew's naval career requiring him to be away at sea for extended periods, the couple reportedly spent fewer than 40 days together in their first year of wedded bliss.
Over time, the distance began to wear on them, and by March 1992, the Duke and Duchess of York announced they were parting ways. Despite maintaining a friendly relationship, Sarah's Royal standing quickly dwindled.
A less than flattering biography of the disgraced duke by Andrew Lownie, titled The Rise and Fall of the House of York, illustrated how stark the change was during a procession at Royal Ascot, one of the most esteemed events in the Royal calendar, reports the Mirror.
Just a year prior, the Duchess had the honour of riding in a carriage alongside the Queen Mother.
However, post-separation, Sarah found herself relegated to the sidelines, watching the Royal procession pass by from the roadside. Standing next to her was Princess Beatrice, who was still too young to comprehend why her mother was no longer part of the spectacle.
Lownie said: "Sarah's reduced status was quickly evident. The previous Ascot, she had been riding in a carriage with the Queen Mother. Now she watched from the roadside as the Queen passed by. Beatrice cried out, 'Can we come too?' The Queen just carried on waving."

The biography presents a consistently damaging portrayal of Prince Andrew, with Lownie describing him as fixated on sex, a "useful idiot," and vulnerable target for Jeffrey Epstein.
Two-thirds of Britons believe the Duke of York should be stripped of his remaining Royal titles, according to fresh polling data.
Research conducted by YouGov revealed that 67% of the public would support removing Andrew's Duke of York title, along with his princely designation.
Parliamentary legislation would be necessary to stop Andrew from continuing as the Duke of York, whilst his inherited right to be a prince, as the child of a sovereign, could be altered if Letters Patent were issued by the King.
The duke ceased using his His Royal Highness style after his catastrophic Newsnight interview, though it could be withdrawn completely through Letters Patent.
Andrew withdrew from public duties in 2019 following the furore surrounding his association with convicted billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
He subsequently paid millions to resolve a civil sexual assault lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre, who was trafficked by Epstein as a teenager, and whom Andrew maintained he had never encountered.

Royal Family 'live in fear' as experts 'amazed' Prince Andrew tapes haven't leaked

Tonight, Channel 5 aired the documentary, Andrew & Fergie: The Duke and Duchess of Excess, following the release of Andrew Lownie's explosive new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. The documentary charted the couple's spending habits, opaque income streams, and controversial connections, including Andrew's entanglements with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew Lownie, who featured in the documentary, called the couple "greedy" and said although he tried to find someone to say something positive about Andrew, 99% of them didn't. It comes after news that Prince Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope. Making further bombshell claims, Andrew Lownie alleges that compromising material involving Prince Andrew may have been obtained and passed to foreign intelligence services. "I think one of the most worrying things I discovered was the amount of kompromat there must be on Andrew. We know that Jeffrey Epstein had filmed people in his home," Lownie said in the Channel 5 documentary. Before he died, it was alleged Epstein had sold some of this information to Mossad, and Libyan intelligence services, and maybe even the Russians. "There is material from my sources talking about kompromat in China, in Libya, in the Middle East, and elsewhere. So I mean, there must be an awful lot of sex tapes running around, and I'm just amazed that they haven't hit the internet," Lownie alleged. The claim has been made before, but there is no public proof that any tapes exist, and Prince Andrew has never commented on the claims. "Who knows what could come out?" journalist Richard Eden added. "I think the Royal Family still lives in fear, frankly, of what could come out." Andrew stepped away from public duties in 2019 amid the furore over his friendship with Epstein following his Newsnight interview and stopped using His Royal Highness. Despite no longer being a working royal, he has appeared at family events. Just earlier this year, he joined the King and several other senior royals for their traditional Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel in Windsor. Earlier this week, Andrew's "lifelong teddy bear obsession" has reemerged in the news after the publication of the explosive new biography. In 2022, a strange anecdote surfaced about the beleaguered prince's reported stash of 50 to 60 teddy bears. An ex-royal officer even claimed that Andrew would "scream and shout" if his staff didn't perform a specific task involving the toys. Speaking in the ITV documentary 'Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile', former protection officer Paul Page claimed that the Duke would fly into a rage if his servants didn't place them in a certain way at Buckingham Palace.

Mum visits local charity shop and is gobsmacked by bargain designer find

Mum visits local charity shop and is gobsmacked by bargain designer find One woman shared she had done some shopping at her local charity shop and made some "amazing finds" - including a luxury designer item which she thought was the real deal She couldn't believe what she found (Stock Image) (Image: FG Trade via Getty Images) Charity shops can be absolutely thrilling, as you never quite know what treasures you might uncover. The potential discoveries are limitless, and certain outlets are renowned for being filled with designer pieces. However, when one woman spotted the price tag on a famous designer top, she was utterly stunned, as they're being resold second-hand for nearly £200. ‌ Emily, who shares content on TikTok as @thriftingwithem, revealed she had made an "amazing find at the charity shop," expressing her disbelief. She observed that "as per usual, there were some stunning pieces" among her discoveries, though one particular piece remained on her mind. ‌ The mother operates as a reseller, purchasing items from her local charity shop at their reasonable prices before selling them on at higher rates. ‌ She disclosed she managed to secure some Tom's espadrilles for £5.99, later selling them for £20 after taking them home, photographing them, and listing them on the platform. "I sold them within 10 minutes of listing them on Vinted," Emily declared proudly. Content cannot be displayed without consent Emily subsequently displayed a dress that retained its original tags for a tenner, which was "still on the website for £79," alongside a charming Ted Baker dressing gown priced at £7.99. Article continues below She discovered a Diane Von Furstenberg dress for £24.99, which can be resold, according to Emily, for approximately £150. There was a brand-new Topshop dress for £5.99, which she said she "loved" and with the brand experiencing a revival on ASOS thanks to Cara Delevingne, it's probably an opportune moment to invest in this label. A Sea Salt Cornwall dress also caught her eye for just £7.99, and there was a Next denim top with a sweet frilly collar for £4.99. ‌ "But this is where it gets interesting," she continued, as on the video she pulled out a black top, which turned out to be the designer brand Off-White. "I found an Off-White jacket for £6.99. If this is real, there is one selling online at the moment for £180," she gushed, asking people to tell her whether they thought it was authentic or not. Emily also noted if this jacket was purchased brand new with tags from the retailer, it would've cost over £400. ‌ In the comments, some criticised her for reselling items from a charity shop, but Emily defended herself, saying the shop "knows" that she's a "reseller". Someone wrote: "Sorry, just to get this right, you buy stuff from a charity shop, and then sell it again at a higher cost for personal gain?" Emily replied: "Yes, it's a great side hustle if you are looking to supplement your income. The charity shop makes money, and so do I. I buy from carboot sales, supermarkets and online auction sites to resell too!" Article continues below A TikTok user said: "From what I can see that [the Off-White jacket] looks legit." Lots of other people agreed.
