Enphase Energy Continues Global Rollout of IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase in Australia
The IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase offers a scalable energy storage solution starting at 5 kWh and expandable up to 70 kWh. Each 5 kWh unit delivers continuous power output – configurable at installation – ranging from 1.65 kW to 3.84 kW in single-phase configurations, and from 0.61 kW to 1.28 kW per phase in three-phase configurations. This configurability helps installers meet a wide range of local grid connection requirements to enable more capacity to be installed per home.
The new battery can be configured to meet the needs of each homeowner, offering grid-tied support or backup power. It was built to help system owners maximize potential savings, reduce grid reliance, and stay powered during a grid outage when paired with the IQ® System Controller 3 INT. The IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase comes with an industry-leading 15-year warranty.
"Our customers want high-performing systems that can handle the demands of the Australian climate," said Michael Brown, managing director at SunStak Energy Geeks, a Platinum level installer of Enphase products in Australia. "The IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase delivers that reliability while giving us the flexibility to configure it for both single-phase and three-phase homes. It's the first AC-coupled three-phase backup solution available in the market.'
'Grid reliability is a real concern for our customers, particularly in rural areas,' said Luke Williams, co-founder at Hunter Solar Solutions, a Platinum level installer of Enphase products in Australia. 'The IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase gives them more energy independence, with flexible and reliable power that can scale depending on their needs – and the peace of mind of a leading warranty and robust local customer support.'
'We're excited about the flexible configuration of the IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase,' said Sam Valenti, CEO at Essential Solar, a Gold level installer of Enphase products in Australia. 'It works across both single-phase and three-phase homes and allows us to tailor continuous power output to meet different grid connection requirements. That means we can meet those requirements without limiting how much storage a homeowner can install.'
The launch of the IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase in Australia aligns with the Federal Government's new Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which can provide homeowners with upfront discounts of around 30% on eligible systems. Fully compliant with the program's requirements, the IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase offers installers unmatched flexibility to design systems that maximize rebate value and meet the unique needs of each home.
"Expanding the availability of the IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase into Australia reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative and high-performance energy solutions that aim to help homeowners save more on their energy bills,' said Ken Fong, senior vice president of sales at Enphase Energy. 'As markets prioritize resilience and electrification, we're providing the high-quality technology and services that can help homeowners take control of their energy independence."
In addition to Australia, the IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase is also available in twelve European countries. For more information about the IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase in Australia, please visit the Enphase website.

Tesla Applies to Supply Electricity to UK Homes as Auto Sales Slump
Tesla (TSLA, Financials) is asking for permission to sell power to homes in the UK. This would help the company grow its energy business into a new market as sales of its main product, cars, slow Energy Ventures Limited, based in Manchester, filed the application in late July. If it is approved, the company will be able to compete with big UK electricity companies. The plan expands on Tesla's work in Texas, where it currently sells power to year, Tesla's energy segment, which sells solar panels and battery storage, made $1.5 billion, a 93% increase from the year before. That gain is not the same as a big drop in automobile sales. In the second quarter, auto sales decreased 16%. Sales of the Model Y and Model 3 were down 12% from the same time last year, and sales of more expensive models fell 52%. Sales in the UK fell 60% in July compared to the same month last year, and sales in Europe fell 22% in experts have said that political reaction against CEO Elon Musk and more competition from Chinese electric vehicle manufactures are problems. Tesla hasn't said anything about the UK license application. This article first appeared on GuruFocus. iPhone 17 Pro starting price could increase by $50, but it's actually a discount
What's happened? A fresh iPhone 17 leak suggests Apple is lining up a price increase for iPhone 17 Pro over last year's iPhone 16 Pro. According to the post [translated] from tipster Setsuna Digital, the starting iPhone 17 Pro price will increase by $50. The starting price for the iPhone 16 Pro is $999, which gets you 128GB of storage. If accurate, it would mean the iPhone 17 Pro could start at $1,049 – but you'll apparently get double the storage at 256GB. The current 256GB model of the iPhone 16 Pro costs $1,099. This is important because: While on the surface it would seem Apple might be about to increase prices, the Cupertino, California firm would actually be cutting the price of its 256GB Pro handset. It's been reported that Apple is set to increase iPhone prices this year for the first time since iPhone 12. Meanwhile, Google will launch its new Pixel 10 series on August 20, and rumors point towards it maintaining the same pricing structure it had for the Pixel 9 series. With Samsung having kept launch prices the same between its Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 series, there's pressure on Apple to maintain price parity as best as it can. Recommended Videos Why should I care? If this latest leak is correct, you may end up paying less for some iPhone 17 Pro storage options compared to the iPhone 16 Pro. The entry-price for new iPhone models may be higher, but Apple could ditch the smaller storage options (128GB), and slightly discount the other options to balance the cost. Okay, what's next? Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 series in mid-September, and we'll have to wait until then to find out for sure if this iPhone 17 Pro price leak is accurate. Earlier leaks suggest the iPhone 17 launch will take place on September 9, with the new devices going on sale on September 19. Apple is tipped to introduce us to an entirely new member of the iPhone family, with the super-slim iPhone 17 Air expected to arrive alongside its quartet of siblings. Via MacRumors

IEA Raises Global Oil Supply Projections
The International Energy Agency once again has lifted its forecasts for global oil supply this year and next. The IEA on Wednesday now sees global oil supply growth of 2.5 million barrels per day (B/D) this year, up by 370,000 b/d from last month's forecast, and 1.9 million b/d in 2026, up by 620,000 b/d. The upward revision was made "after the eight OPEC+ members subject to voluntary output reductions agreed on 3 August to raise production by another 547 kb/d in September, fully unwinding the 2.2 mb/d cuts agreed to in November 2023 since April," the agency wrote. Meanwhile, "global oil demand growth for 2025 has been repeatedly downgraded since the start of the year, by a combined 350 kb/d," the IEA wrote. "Demand is now projected to rise by around 700 kb/d this year and next. The latest data show lacklustre demand across the major economies and, with consumer confidence still depressed, a sharp rebound appears remote." The IEA added that "while oil market balances look ever more bloated as forecast supply far eclipses demand towards year-end and in 2026, additional sanctions on Russia and Iran may curb supplies from the world's third and fifth largest producers." Crude oil futures were down 0.7% at around $62.75 a barrel in recent trading.
