AEW reveals mystery opponents for Toni Storm's World Title Eliminator

Yahoo15-05-2025

Toni Storm is ready to get messy, sweaty, and painful. Whether it be one at a time, two at a time, or three at a time, Timeless isn't waiting for a Hayter or a CEO. She is ready to binge on the competition. With such a voracious appetite, AEW booked the women's world champion into another four-way title eliminator for Dynamite Beach Break on May 14. One opponent was announced to be the returning Skye Blue in hometown Chicago. That left two mystery spots open. It's not a mystery anymore.
AEW revealed that AZM and Mina Shirawkawa are also in the eliminator match.

That is an interesting combination of talent. With Double or Nothing on the horizon, one might assume that this four-way title eliminator could produce a PPV challenger, especially since Storm doesn't need to be pinned by the winner.
Blue is coming back from injury. She is 0-2 against Storm in televised title matches and 0-4 overall in televised singles matches. Her return was announced last week, but at the time no match was specified.
AZM just won the NJPW Strong Women's Championship from Mercedes Moné by pinning Mina in the three-way title bout at NJPW Resurgence. AZM tested herself against Storm once before losing a title eliminator last year in AEW.
Mina has the connection to Storm through the Mariah May storyline, and she previously challenged Timeless for the title at Forbidden Door 2024. There are also rumors of a push in store for Mina in AEW.

Fans React to AEW Superstar's Shocking Move to WWE

Fans React to AEW Superstar's Shocking Move to WWE originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Just as the AEW product is starting to catch fire on the road to "All In," the company has suffered a massive blow to its blossoming women's division. After months of speculation sparked by reporting from Andrew Baydala, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp and PWInsider's Mike Johnson are both alleging that former AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May has been removed from the roster page and is set to jump to WWE. Advertisement May signed with the promotion in November 2023, with the bulk of her run involved in an excellent program with "Timeless" Toni Storm. It's unclear at this time why the 26-year-old decided to switch companies at this time, but she immediately slots in as the face of NXT or as a prominent contender on the main roster. Fans across the wrestling world have reacted accordingly. WWEGetty Images There's something inherently funny about immediately trying to craft the narrative without all the information of the story. Fantasy booking Liv Morgan vs. Mariah May in the second custody of Dominik Mysterio ladder match would do numbers. Many fans have suggested pictures like this signal May's goal was to be in the WWE. From a historical lens, is this one of the more impactful promotion switches ever—especially in the modern era? Even with her departure, Tony Khan and AEW's writing staff did a tremendous job raising her status as a performer. Can anyone top this sendoff? It's unclear when May will start with WWE, but she's joining the most talented women's roster in North American history. The dream matches are endless and should be a main event player in no time.
