
Driver using a friend's vehicle stopped speeding 158 km/h on Hwy. 417 in Ottawa

A driver will have to explain to a friend that their vehicle has been impounded for two weeks, after being stopped speeding 58 km/h over the speed limit on Highway 417 in Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police say two drivers were stopped for stunt driving on the Queensway on Sunday.
Police say a driver, who had borrowed their friend's car, was observed going 158 km/h on the highway.
A G2 driver was also charged with stunt driving, after being spotted going 157 km/h on Hwy. 417.
Both drivers received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicles are impounded for 14 days.
Police say the drivers each face a minimum $2,000 fine, six demerit points, and a one-year driving suspension upon conviction.
