2 dressed as online delivery agents rob jewellery store at gunpoint in Ghaziabad
In the CCTV fooatge of the store that has surfaced on social media the unidentified suspects are seen pushing a man inside the jewellery store as they enter and then take off in a motorcycle after looting the store.
The heist took place at Mansi Jewellers on the Link Road area on Thursday. The two robbers escaped with more than 20 kilograms of silver and 125 grams of gold from the store, police said.
While no arrests have been made in the case so far, Ghaziabad police has formed multiple teams to identify and nab the suspects using the CCTV footage and technical surveillance. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Trans Hindon) Nimish Patil said, 'The unidentified miscreants looted jewellery worth more than Rs 20 lakh from the store. They were wearing the uniforms of Blinkit and Swiggy to avoid suspicion." 'We have formed six teams to investigate the case and arrests will be made soon," the officer said.
One robber is seen wearing a yellow Blinkit T-shirt, a helmet, and a face mask, while his accomplice is clad in an orange Swiggy uniform with a helmet. (File) Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction leader Anil Parab has demanded the resignation of Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, over serious allegations related to an illegal dance bar and sand mining. Speaking to the media, Parab claimed that a dance bar is being operated in the name of the minister's mother, tarnishing the image of the state and the government. He also said that he has submitted all the related evidence directly to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and urged immediate action against Kadam. According to Parab, CM Fadnavis has assured him that the matter will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action will be taken based on the evidence. When asked about the meeting between Parab and Fadnavis, Kadam replied, 'I have cleared my stand to my leadership. I don't pay attention to who is meeting whom. We have given that space on rent. I am only focusing on my work and nothing else." Parab reiterated that he had earlier raised the issue of the controversial dance bar during the session, stating it was not only illegal but being run in the name of Kadam's mother. 'This is not just a matter of moral misconduct, it directly damages the reputation of the government," Parab said. During these raids, police reportedly detained 22 bar girls, 22 customers, and seized large amounts of cash. 'These establishments have a record of repeated violations. As per the law, the owner is held accountable for any illegal activity. Therefore, Minister Kadam must resign," Parab demanded. In addition to the dance bar issue, Parab also submitted alleged evidence regarding illegal sand mining reportedly linked to Kadam's aides. He claimed that the extracted sand is being dumped on the premises of Yogita Dental College in Khed, and a man named Akit Mukadam has been actively involved in the operations. Parab also submitted video footage allegedly showing a transport department official using an e-challan machine to collect unauthorised payments. He further pointed out that the Bombay High Court has issued a show-cause notice in the sand mining case, noting that no permission was granted for the excavation. 'I have given a copy of the court's direction as evidence. Now it is up to the Chief Minister to examine the material and take a call," Parab said. EC Likely To Take Action Against 2 West Bengal Officers Over Inclusion Of Fictitious Voters
Sources in the EC told News18 that both officers, serving as Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) in Baruipur and Moyna, had allegedly shared login credentials The Election Commission of India (EC) is likely to initiate strict action against two West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) officers after they were found guilty of facilitating the inclusion of fictitious voters in the electoral rolls. Sources in the EC told News18 that both officers, serving as Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) in Baruipur and Moyna, had allegedly shared login credentials through which fake voter names were added to the rolls. They were summoned on Monday for a hearing, and a preliminary inquiry held them responsible for the anomalies. 'The competent authority has been asked to take necessary disciplinary action against both officials," a senior official told News18. The irregularities were uncovered during a random sampling audit conducted by the Commission, prompting it to issue a fresh directive to all District Electoral Officers. The EC has ordered a comprehensive review of all voter inclusions made in the past one year, citing evidence of fake entries. In a move to tighten administrative oversight, the Election Commission has further instructed that no contractual data entry operators will be allowed to participate in any election-related tasks going forward. This comes after reports surfaced indicating misuse and procedural lapses involving temporary staff. 'Only permanent government staff will be assigned to handle sensitive election duties, particularly related to voter roll management," a source said. Amid these developments, preparations are underway for the rollout of SIR (State-wide Integrated Revision) in West Bengal. Sources confirm that all necessary arrangements are in place for its imminent implementation. The issue of fake voters has sparked a fresh political slugfest in the state. Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Monday alleged that his team had uncovered fake voters in two Assembly constituencies. 'They've created bogus voters. Their names must be deleted. In Baruipur alone, we have identified 118 fake names," Adhikari claimed. 'This will not be tolerated." On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reiterated her concern that there may be wrongful deletion; she stated that under no circumstances should genuine voters be struck off the list under the guise of revision. Police bust illegal kidney transplant network in Pakistans Punjab; 8 arrested
Lahore, Jul 29 (PTI) Eight members of an illegal kidney transplant network, including doctors and nurses, have been arrested in Pakistan's Punjab province, an official said on Tuesday. According to a spokesperson of the Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority, a network involved in illegal kidney transplants has been uncovered in Sheikhupura, some 50-km from Lahore. He said the illegal kidney transplant procedures were conducted at a private hospital. 'During the raid, a kidney was being removed from a resident of Sheikhupura to be transplanted into an African national," the spokesperson said. Eight people, including doctors and nurses, have been arrested, he added. He said the network would charge at least PKR 7 million from a person for the illegal transplant. Usually, the kidneys are sold for up to PKR 10 million to the recipient, but donors hardly get 10 per cent of the total amount. Raids are being conducted to arrest more people involved in the illegal network, he said. The commercial trade of human organs was made illegal in Pakistan in 2010. The punishment for those caught includes a decade-long jail term and a huge fine. There has been a rise in organ trafficking in Pakistan as people struggle with low wages and poor enforcement of the law. A couple of years ago, the Punjab government had arrested the ring leader of such a network for extracting the kidneys of more than 300 people and transplanting them into rich clients.
