NEW YORK, July 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Saks Global, the largest multi-brand luxury retailer in the world, announced the appointment of Brandy Richardson as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 18, 2025. Richardson succeeds Interim Chief Financial Officer Mark Weinsten, who joined Saks Global to lead the company's finance organization through the initial stages of its transformation following its acquisition of Neiman Marcus Group (NMG) in December 2024.
With nearly 25 years of experience, Richardson joins Saks Global from Tailored Brands, Inc., where she has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2021. Richardson spent the majority of her career at NMG where she held several finance leadership roles of increasing responsibility over her 15-year tenure. 'With her deep background in both luxury retail and finance, Brandy is the right leader to drive Saks Global's financial performance as we execute on our ambitious transformation strategy and capitalize on the significant growth opportunity within the luxury market,' said Marc Metrick, CEO of Saks Global Operating Group. 'Brandy joins us at a time of great momentum on our journey to redefine luxury shopping. I'm confident that her strong leadership and strategic perspective will position us for long-term sustainable growth and value creation.'
Metrick continued, 'Mark has provided critical direction to develop and implement our finance strategy following the NMG acquisition, positioning us to meet our commitments and execute on our strategic plans. He has brought valuable leadership to Saks Global, and we are grateful for his stewardship during this transformational time.'
Brandy Richardson added, 'Saks Global is poised to shape the future of luxury retail and I'm thrilled to join this forward-thinking team. My years with NMG were foundational to my career, and I'm energized by the opportunity to return to luxury retail as part of Saks Global during this incredibly exciting time for the company. I look forward to helping drive the company's future success by identifying and pursuing opportunities for sustainable, long-term growth.'
Richardson will be part of the Saks Global Management Team, reporting to Metrick. She will join Saks Global's Dallas-based team. Richardson and Weinsten will partner together to ensure a seamless transition.

FILE PHOTO: A Specialist trader wears a Yext vest during the company's IPO on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York, U.S., April 13, 2017. REUTERS/Brendan McDermid/File Photo (Reuters) -Yext's CEO Michael Walrath has proposed taking the search optimization company private in a deal valued at about $1.1 billion, it said on Monday, sending shares up 9% in early trading. Walrath, who owns 2.8% of the company's shares according to data compiled by LSEG, offered $9.00 per share in cash for the stock he does not already own — a premium of 11.2% to Friday's closing price. Walrath indicated that the proposal is backed by reputable and well-capitalized financing sources, the company said. It did not disclose the names of the funding sources. Yext's board has formed a special committee to evaluate the proposal and any strategic alternatives. There is no assurance the proposal will result in a transaction, the company said. The New York-based company also said it is withdrawing its forecast for the rest of the fiscal year 2026 in light of the proposal. The company's full-year revenue for 2025 rose 4% to $421.0 million, but its net loss jumped to $27.9 million from $2.6 million from a year ago. Its stock has gained more than 50% in the past 12 months. Yext provides software that helps companies increase their visibility on AI and traditional search, social media, websites and direct communications platforms. "Yext has achieved remarkable progress, and I believe now is the right time to explore a transaction that can deliver compelling value to stockholders," Walrath said in a statement. Oxford Innotech to ride on rising use of automation, robotics in manufacturing

PETALING JAYA: Integrated engineering solutions provider Oxford Innotech Bhd (OXB) is poised to capitalise on the rising adoption of automation in manufacturing as businesses increasingly seek solutions that enhance efficiency, ensure consistent quality and reinforce operational resilience in a competitive global market. OXB, which made its debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities on July 29, offers integrated engineering solutions, mechanical assembly solutions and automation and robotic solutions. Its automation and robotic solutions division designs and manufactures standalone automated equipment, production line systems as well as provides smart factory systems solutions and technical support services. Customers in this segment are mainly in semiconductor and electrical and electronics (E&E) industries. Managing director Ng Thean Gin said: 'In the era of Industry 4.0, smart factory systems utilise a variety of technologies including artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing and the Industrial Internet of Things. At OXB, we work with proven strategic partners to deliver automation solutions to our customers. Shanghai-based Jaka Robotics Co Ltd is one such important partner to us.' Jaka Robotics is a global player in collaborative robotics with a presence in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany and the United States. It specialises in the development and production of collaborative robots or cobots designed for the manufacturing industry with the objectives to increase production capacity and efficiency, reduce reliance on physical labour, improve worker safety and solve high staff turnovers. Its solutions have been deployed in over 100 countries, with more than 10,000 cobots in operation worldwide supporting various industries such as automotive, E&E, semiconductor, new energy and food processing, to name a few. Ng said they are working with Jaka Robotics on a project for a US-based multinational contract manufacturer with presence in Penang to automate their assembly process by reducing manual operators and enhancing process consistency. He added that this is the first phase of the initiative with several more phases in the pipeline. 'With the automation trend picking up pace in the face of rising cost pressures, we see a lot of growth potential in our automation and robotics division,' Ng said. Meanwhile, the group is in discussions to pursue larger-scale projects for its precision engineering components solutions and mechanical assembly solutions segments. 'We are currently in discussions on several opportunities with our existing customers and hope to share some positive news in due course. We expect the fiscal year ahead to be very busy and remain confident in our long-term outlook,' Ng said.

Google announces Tennessee as site for small modular nuclear reactor

A Google sign is pictured on a Google building in the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York, U.S., October 20, 2020. REUTERS/Carlo Allegri NEW YORK (Reuters) -Google, with Kairos Power, has selectedTennessee as the site of an advanced nuclear power plant that is expected to supply electricity to the Big Tech company's data centers in the U.S. southeast starting in 2030, the companies said on Monday. WHY IT MATTERS Big Tech is requiring massive amounts of electricity to scale up technologies like generative artificial intelligence in energy-intensive data centers. Those record energy needs are driving U.S. power consumption to new highs and propelling the development of fresh power sources like next-generation nuclear energy. The Tennessee reactor is the first to be deployed as part of Google's corporate agreement, announced last year, to buy nuclear energy from multiple small modular reactors. The deal would support 500 megawatts of advanced nuclear capacity, which is enough to power about 350,000 homes, to be developed by California-based nuclear company Kairos. The 50-gigawatt small modular nuclear power plant will be built in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, under a long-term power purchase agreement with utility Tennessee Valley Authority, to deliver electricity to Google data centers locally and in the state of Alabama. KEY QUOTE 'This collaboration with TVA, Kairos Power, and the Oak Ridge community will accelerate the deployment of innovative nuclear technologies and help support the needs of our growing digital economy while also bringing firm carbon-free energy to the electricity system," said Google's Amanda Peterson Corio. The project marks the first time a U.S. utility has signed a power purchase agreement for so-called generation IV nuclear power, which is generally seen as the most sustainable and safe form of nuclear power technologies in development, the companies said. ENERGY SECRETARY WEIGHS IN 'The deployment of advanced nuclear reactors is essential to U.S. AI dominance and energy leadership," U.S. Energy Secretary ChrisWright said in a statement announcing the site selection. 'The Department of Energy has assisted Kairos Power with overcoming technical, operational, and regulatory challenges as a participant in the Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, and DOE will continue to help accelerate the next American nuclear renaissance." Currently, there are no commercially available advanced nuclear power plants in the U.S. (Reporting by Laila KearneyEditing by Marguerita Choy)
