Wondershare Filmora Partners with Microsoft to Redefine Intelligent Video Editing at Microsoft Build 2025

Cision Canada21-05-2025
VANCOUVER, BC, May 21, 2025 /CNW/ -- Wondershare's flagship video creativity software, Filmora, made its debut at Microsoft Build 2025 as a featured Keynote partner that leverages the new API for semantic search and knowledge retrieval to build a natural language search and RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) scenarios in Filmora with its custom data including effects, filters and music clips. This live demonstration marks a new milestone and a major upgrade to its AI editing assistant, AI Mate, expected to release later this year, where Filmora users will soon be able to learn new features and apply them automatically – completely locally on the Windows Copilot+ PCs even when disconnected from the internet.
"By deeply integrating Microsoft's latest APIs for semantic search and knowledge retrieval, creators will no longer need to memorize complex terms or manually connect editing steps. Instead, they simply enter prompts like 'make my video look vintage' and AI Mate would immediately make recommendations such as adding a 'Vintage 1950' filter, a '16mm film shake' effect, and a 'jazz piano' background track. This made editing tasks much simpler for Filmora users in just one click", said Luyan Zhang, Product Manager at Wondershare.
Another key highlight of the upgrade is the integration of Microsoft's Phi Silica, a cutting-edge local language model, directly into AI Mate. Supported by on-device NPU acceleration, this enables Filmora to process natural-language instructions in multiple languages with remarkable accuracy—even PC users are offline while traveling on airplanes or to remote locations with no internet. By eliminating dependence on cloud connectivity or AI user credits, creators gain truly borderless freedom to create, anytime and anywhere with enhanced privacy and reduced cost.
In addition, Filmora leverages Windows 11's NPU+GPU hybrid architecture to optimize performance across diverse hardware configurations. Several advanced AI features, including Video Enhancer, now support local processing. This allows users to enhance low-resolution videos by recovering fine details—such as skin texture and fabric patterns—without compromising speed or relying on cloud services.
"The AI era is reshaping the global video creation landscape across software, hardware, and ecosystems. We are committed to our mission of making the world more creative by partnering with industry leaders like Microsoft to improve video editing workflows through AI-powered app experiences for creators worldwide." said Felix Lin, Assistant Vice President at Wondershare. "As a global leader in AI-driven creative solutions, Wondershare democratizes video editing, empower users of all skill levels to explore a future of boundless creativity and artistic freedom."

2 Soaring Tech Stocks to Buy and Hold for the Next Decade

Key Points Microsoft is well on its way to dethroning Amazon in the ever-expanding cloud market. Oracle's autonomous database business is booming, and it sees further room for growth. 10 stocks we like better than Microsoft › Investors looking for winning stock ideas for the next decade need to look no further than the companies enabling artificial intelligence (AI) adoption. The recent financial results of leading companies serving the cloud computing market show that enterprise investment in AI is still in the early stages. Here are two stocks to profit from this opportunity. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Learn More » 1. Microsoft Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is the 800-pound gorilla in the cloud services market. While Amazon continues to control the top spot in market share, Microsoft Azure is growing faster and is on pace to eventually overtake the No. 1 position in the cloud market. Microsoft stock is up 26% year to date. Azure and other cloud services from Microsoft posted a 39% year-over-year increase in revenue for the fiscal fourth quarter (which ended in June). Management credits its growing footprint of over 400 data centers in 70 regions around the world for its momentum. The company is further bolstering its competitive position with tools like Microsoft Fabric. This is a data and analytics platform that is rapidly expanding. Revenue grew 55% year over year last quarter, indicating that Microsoft is positioned to capture demand for AI-driven database services. Microsoft generates $281 billion in annual revenue right now, yet management noted that there is $368 billion worth of contracted backlog across its cloud business. With a company this large growing earnings per share at 24% year over year in the recent quarter, it's possible that Wall Street is still underestimating the size of the AI opportunity. Analysts are projecting low-double-digit earnings growth over the next few years, but that might be underestimating the company's opportunity. Microsoft has delivered excellent returns for investors for many years, and that streak doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon. 2. Oracle Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) is another top tech stock to ride the growing investment in cloud services. Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure business is experiencing explosive growth, which sent the stock to new highs after its fiscal Q4 earnings report in June. "In Q4, we hit double-digit revenue growth and it's only going up from here," CEO Safra Catz said during the earnings call. Oracle has been building up its cloud offering for over a decade, and it's paying off. Companies are choosing Oracle for its market-leading database services to leverage autonomous features. Autonomous database consumption revenue grew 47% year over year, accelerating from 27% growth in the year-ago quarter. Beginning in fiscal 2026, management expects growth to accelerate. Company guidance calls for total cloud revenue growth to be over 40% in constant currency, with cloud infrastructure growth of over 70%, which includes the autonomous database business. Oracle is playing an important role in enabling the AI revolution across the economy. This is evidenced by its participation in the Stargate Project with OpenAI, which aims to build state-of-the-art AI infrastructure in the U.S. The revenue expected from Stargate should at least marginally contribute to Oracle's growth over the next decade. For what it's worth, Wall Street analysts expect Oracle's adjusted (non-GAAP) earnings to grow at an annualized rate of 19% through fiscal 2030. Oracle is an industry-leading cloud database provider with a large suite of enterprise applications. It has a long history of delivering solid returns to investors, with the stock up over 500% in the last decade. With growth accelerating due to AI, it should continue to reward shareholders. In welcoming the new students, MBZUAI has begun its immersive Orientation Week, introducing new students to the university's culture of academic excellence, AI-driven innovation, and community engagement. The programme combines academic sessions, mentorship activities, and cultural programming celebrating UAE heritage and life in Abu Dhabi. Highlights include the Orientation Mini Fair, where internal and external partners showcase resources for academic success, career development, and student life. Orientation Week is designed to foster a strong sense of belonging and connection, laying the foundation for academic success and life-changing university experiences. For more information, visit

Double the Disruption: The 3 Best Stocks to Buy Now to Profit From Both AI and Quantum Computing

Key Points Alphabet has multiple ways to profit from AI and has achieved two key quantum computing milestones. Microsoft has integrated AI throughout its software and might have developed the "transistor for the quantum age." Nvidia is a critical player in AI and is positioning itself to be a big winner in quantum computing. 10 stocks we like better than Nvidia › Disruption isn't a dirty word for investors. Sure, some companies can fade away as their businesses are rendered obsolete by new technologies. However, others flourish and make smart investors a lot of money over time. I believe we're currently in the early stages of two massive disruptions. Artificial intelligence (AI) holds the potential to transform our world in too many ways to count. Quantum computing could accelerate AI advances while also revolutionizing finance, healthcare, logistics, and more. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Learn More » Although these are distinct disruptive technologies, you don't have to invest in them separately. Here are my picks for the three best stocks to buy now to profit from both AI and quantum computing. 1. Alphabet Google parent Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG)(NASDAQ: GOOGL) has been a pioneer in AI for years. The company developed the "T" (transformers) in ChatGPT. Its 2014 acquisition of DeepMind was, in retrospect, a pivotal move. Today, Google Gemini Pro ranks among the world's most powerful large language models (LLMs). Alphabet has multiple ways to profit from AI. Google Cloud is the fastest-growing major cloud services provider thanks to a massive AI tailwind. Google Search and YouTube use AI to boost ad revenue. Waymo is a leader in autonomous ride-hailing (robotaxis). But the company is also a major player in quantum computing. Google Quantum AI (note that both disruptive technologies are in the unit's name) has already notched two key quantum computing milestones. Its Sycamore chip achieved quantum supremacy (solving a problem in relatively short order that would take the most powerful classical computer an exceptionally long time) in 2019. The unit made a giant leap in quantum error correction (reducing errors by increasing the cubits) in 2023. I think it's a good bet that Alphabet will be one of the biggest winners in both AI and quantum computing over the long run. But this stock isn't a highly risky bet, in my view. The company is on track to generate close to $400 billion in revenue and more than $100 billion in profits this year. 2. Microsoft Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) arguably struck one of the best deals in business history by partnering with ChatGPT creator OpenAI back in 2022. The longtime technology giant has integrated OpenAI's AI models throughout its software suite. Like Alphabet, Microsoft is poised to benefit as organizations build and deploy AI applications in the cloud. Its Azure is the second-largest cloud services platform, behind only Amazon Web Services (AWS). Also like Alphabet, Microsoft is investing heavily in quantum computing. Earlier this year, the company introduced its Majorana 1 quantum chip, which uses a new type of material called a topoconductor. Microsoft thinks that topoconductors will pave the way for highly scalable, powerful quantum computers. Microsoft technical fellow Chetan Nayak believes that topoconductors might be the "transistor for the quantum age." If he's right, the company that dominated the PC software market could also dominate the quantum computing market. 3. Nvidia Which company is the most essential player in AI today? There's a strong argument that it's Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). The company's graphics processing units (GPUs) remain in a league of their own in powering AI systems. Nvidia's customers include Alphabet and Microsoft, both of which use its GPUs extensively in their cloud platforms. And while rivals are trying desperately to knock Nvidia off its perch, the company's fast-paced development of new AI chips seems likely to keep it on top for years to come. However, Nvidia isn't developing quantum computers. How is investing in it a smart way to profit from both AI and quantum computing? The company is trying to make it easier for others to advance their quantum computing efforts through its NVIDIA Accelerated Quantum Computing (NVAQC) Research Center. Nvidia is also pairing its GPUs with quantum chips for a hybrid quantum-classical computing approach. Back in the gold rush days, the providers of picks and shovels often made more money than the gold miners themselves. Nvidia is positioning itself to be the pick-and-shovel investment of the quantum computing era. Should you invest $1,000 in Nvidia right now? Before you buy stock in Nvidia, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now… and Nvidia wasn't one of them.
