Florida women's basketball ACC/SEC Challenge matchup announced
The Florida men's basketball team drew Duke in the ACC-SEC Challenge on Thursday, but the Gators' women's basketball team will be playing Virginia Tech.
ESPN announced the matchups for the women's side of the challenge, and Florida is hoping to improve to 3-0 after taking down Georgia Tech, 68-58, in 2023 and Clemson, 77-64, last season. The Gators will be on the road in Blacksburg on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025. The game will be broadcast on one of the ESPN, ACC, or SEC platforms, with details to be announced later.
Florida's women's basketball team is 3-1 all-time against Virginia Tech, but the two programs haven't met since 2014. The Gators won that game by nearly 30 points, but the programs are in very different places a decade later.

Stephen A. Smith Doesn't Hesitate on Brutal Take About Giannis Antetokounmpo

Stephen A. Smith Doesn't Hesitate on Brutal Take About Giannis Antetokounmpo originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Giannis Antetokounmpo has made his hunger for another title perfectly clear. While many sources interpreted this as a desire to be traded, he has since clarified that he wants to win it with the Milwaukee Bucks. Advertisement He was in title-winning form until the very end. But, Damian Lillard's injury and other problems in the offense ended his playoff run early against the Indiana Pacers. Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points with 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists last season. However, Stephen A. Smith expressed during ESPN's "First Take" that he will consider Antetokounmpo an "underachiever" if he doesn't win another title. "He's one of the greatest players to ever play the game," He explained his take. "Over the last four years, minimum 200 games, Giannis second in the league, 30.4 points per game. Fifth in the league, 11.7 rebounds per game." Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is chasing another ring, but will that be with the Bucks?© Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images "Fifth among qualifiers at 58% from the field. And nine All-NBA selections in his career. Nine All-Star selections. And top ten finishes in league MVP voting nine times. And he does, and he has more of that than post-season series wins. That's unacceptable." He said. Advertisement Smith then clarifies that he isn't blaming Antetokounmpo for it. He just believes that Antetokounmpo deserves more for a man of his calibre. "It's not his fault. I'm not in any way pointing to him or what he's not doing." He clarified. I'm saying that you don't look at somebody that dominant, that fantastic, with that kind of fire in his belly to compete on a night-in, night-out basis, and all you have is one championship to show for it." Smith expects to see another ring on his finger and so do his fans. It was a major heartbreak for the Bucks fandom to see Antetokounmpo perform his absolute best and still lose to the Pacers. But the man himself is ready to start next season. Stephen A. Smith Predicts Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo Will Join Same NBA Team

Stephen A. Smith Predicts Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo Will Join Same NBA Team originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Besides the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers, who are still focused on raising a championship banner, the rest of the league has its eyes set on improving its rosters next year. Some names that have been floated as potentially being on the move include Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant. Advertisement The Greek Freak just posted his third straight campaign averaging over 30 points, tagged along with 11.9 rebounds and a career high 6.5 assists per game. Despite everything he's given the organization, there is speculation that the two-time MVP wants out of Milwaukee due to the team's consistent lack of postseason success. The Bucks have failed to make it out of the first round in each of their last three playoff appearances. The Phoenix Suns' power forward is coming off season averages of 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game across 62 appearances. The Suns actively shopped Durant at this year's trade deadline and ultimately failed to reach a deal. They were then eliminated from playoff contention before the end of the regular season. Smith revealed his top five trade destinations for both Antetokounmpo and Durant. Advertisement He named the New York Knicks as the number one option for both forwards, suggesting the two could join forces at Madison Square Garden soon. "The New York Knicks. The market. The Mecca. Madison Square Garden. Center Stage," declared Smith, a vocal Knicks fan. "Jalen Brunson in the house. Keep Anunoby if you can. You can let Bridges go. Hell, if you had to lose Karl-Anthony Towns for him (Antetokounmpo). Yes. Yes." Then Smith went on to discuss Durant. "Now him, that might be because he's 30 going 36 years of age. You understand what I'm saying?" Smith added. "I don't know, but I'm very certain about that. Either way you slice it, KD, [expletive] it, your [expletive] should have been in New York to begin with! You should have never went to Brooklyn." The Knicks appear to be in clear "win-now" mode following the dismissal of five-year head coach Tom Thibodeau, despite the franchise reaching its first Conference Finals in 25 years. Advertisement New York is currently still in the market for a head coach, analyzing several options to fill the role.
