Just hours after delivering a stunning spell in the IPL 2025 final that helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru lift their maiden title, Krunal Pandya took to social media to mark the moment and in a style only he could pull off.
In a viral photo posted across his social channels, the RCB all-rounder struck the iconic
Khaby Lame
pose — standing stone-faced next to the IPL trophy with both palms pointed towards it, as if to say, 'Here's your answer.' The image instantly caught fire online, symbolising Krunal's cheeky response to critics who questioned his move to RCB and doubted his match-winning credentials.

The post came just after Krunal was named Player of the Match for his magnificent 2/17 spell in the final against Punjab Kings at the
Narendra
Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
With PBKS requiring 191 for victory, Krunal dismissed the dangerous Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis at crucial moments, choking Punjab's chase and sealing a dramatic six-run win for RCB.

Quiz:
Who's that IPL player?
It wasn't just the trophy that did the talking, Krunal also reminded fans during the post-match presentation that the Pandya household now boasts nine IPL trophies in 11 years. A fourth title for Krunal personally, the triumph also validated his Rs 5.75 crore price tag and the faith RCB showed in acquiring him at the auction.
While the image was playful, the message was clear: this was Krunal's moment — and he didn't need to say a word to make his point.

UP govt enhances ambit of old-age pension, vows to cater to over 67 lakh senior citizens

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to enhance the ambit of old-age pension for the senior citizens and has now set a target of providing a monthly pension to more than 67 lakh elderly, in the current financial year 20025-26. The pledge comes after the UP government disbursed old-age pensions for 61 lakh poor senior citizens in the first quarter. In the first quarter of the previous financial year, the Yogi government had met its goal of crediting Rs 1,000 pension directly into the bank accounts of 56 lakh elderly beneficiaries. This year, the Social Welfare Department set a new target of 61 lakh pensioners, which it accomplished. Now, the state government has raised the bar and seeks to cater to 67.50 lakh elderly. The Old Age Pension Scheme is a cornerstone of the Yogi Adityanath government, aimed at making financially vulnerable senior citizens self-reliant and helping them handle financial hardships during later years of their life. Under the Old Age/Farmer Pension scheme, those old-aged people who are 60 years of age or above and whose income from all sources in rural areas is up to Rs 46,080 and in Urban areas Rs 56460, are eligible under the pension scheme. Under this scheme, people 60 years or above are given a pension amount of Rs 1000 per month on a quarterly basis. The reach of the Old Age Pension Scheme has grown steadily since 2018-19, when 40.71 lakh beneficiaries received Rs 1,879 crore. By 2019-20, the number rose to 47.99 lakh (Rs 2,698 crore), and in 2020-21 to 51.24 lakh (Rs 3,694 crore). The upward trend continued with 51.92 lakh (Rs 4,278 crore) in 2021-22, 54.97 lakh (Rs 6,083 crore) in 2022-23, and 55.68 lakh (Rs 6,464 crore) in 2023-24. In 2024-25, 55.99 lakh elderly beneficiaries received pensions. The achievement of this year's target within the first quarter highlights the government's priority towards ensuring both the financial security and self-respect of the elderly. It also reinforces the state government's commitment towards the welfare and dignity of senior citizens. The introduction of the Single Nodal Account (SNA) system has made the pension distribution process fully digital and transparent. Under this system, pension amounts are transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked accounts, eliminating middlemen and ensuring timely, corruption-free disbursement. The SNA system also facilitates faster payments, easier audits, and efficient fund tracking, guaranteeing that every rupee is used for the intended purpose. Since the scheme's launch in 2017, when it covered 37.47 lakh beneficiaries, the reach has nearly doubled, now targeting 67.50 lakh people.

‘Let it begin': Rohit Sharma working with Abhishek Nayar with Australia ODIs on the horizon

Just days after Virat Kohli posted a photo of himself after a training session, fellow India veteran Rohit Sharma has also posted a picture of himself with former assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in the gym. Nayar reposted that with the caption that said: 'Let it begin'. According to PTI, Rohit has begun training with Nayar at a suburban Mumbai facility after taking a break of a couple of months from cricket following the IPL. Rohit retired from T20Is after leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup last year and then from Tests during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). This has left ODIs as the only format in which he plays international cricket and India next play one only in October when they tour Australia. Kohli has also retired from T20Is and Tests and this has led to a lot of specuation around his and Rohit's future with the Indian ODI team. Nayar was sacked as India's assistant coach in April this year after India's dismal run of form in Tests. Rohit is known to work with him on occassion personally and Nayar remains a reputed batting coach. KL Rahul had worked with Nayar prior to the recently concluded five-match Test series in England, in which he ended up scoring 532 runs. Considered one of the greatest opening batters of all time, Rohit has scored 11,168 runs in 273 ODIs at an average of 48.76 with 32 centuries and 58 half-centuries. He is the only batter to have scored three double centuries in men's ODIs and his 264 remains the highest-ever score by any player in the format. Rohit had led a dominant India to the final of the 2023 World Cup. However, while they were hardly challenged by any team throughout the tournament, India were thoroughly outplayed by Australia in the final and lost by six wickets, a result that Rohit admitted in later months took a big toll on him mentally and emotionally.
