WILDSIDE YOHJI YAMAMOTO Reimagines Japanese Iconography in Exclusive Drop

WILDSIDE YOHJI YAMAMOTO, the avant-garde offshoot of the legendary Japanese fashion house, is spotlighting its deep reverence for Japanese culture with the launch of a special collection titled 'The Japan Edit.' Designed to celebrate the convergence of traditional aesthetics and modern subculture, the curated capsule drops alongside a new campaign offering free international shipping and a limited-edition gift to early adopters. The collection is a bold showcase of the house's cultural roots, where centuries-old motifs are transformed into wearable art pieces. Leading the charge is a limited reissue of the 'Hannya' rayon shirt, a standout from WILDSIDE's cult-favorite collaboration with RYU GA GOTOKU STUDIO (SEGA's 'Like a Dragon').Like a Dragonis an action-adventure series developed by the Japanese Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. The first gaming entry dropped in 2005. The franchise provides a tempting look into the seedy underbelly of 1988 Japan and the adventures of the night. Evoking the raw intensity of Japan's underworld, the shirt is dyed using a black-on-white printing method that captures the Hannya mask's twisted expression in haunting detail across the back and sleeves. With its flowing silhouette and lustrous finish, the $700 USD piece blurs the lines between game-inspired memorabilia and high fashion. Complementing the collection's apparel are exclusive canvas bags crafted in partnership with Kyoto's heritage brand, ICHIZAWA SHINZABURO HANPU. Known for their century-old craftsmanship, ICHIZAWA lends its minimalist and durable touch to a navy and black tote ($300 USD) and a sleek crossbody shoulder bag ($240 USD), both bearing Yohji Yamamoto's signature. It's a blend of functional elegance rooted in local tradition, now made for global streets. Finally, WILDSIDE's Japan-exclusive T-shirt selection taps into a more playful, graphic-forward language. Whether it's a kabuki actor surrounded by skulls, a maiko donning a sash of bones, or a wild leopard drawn in Ukiyo-e style, each of the 11 tees ($90 USD each) offers a fresh take on classical Japanese iconography. Available only through WILDSIDE's website, these limited designs encapsulate the brand's signature fusion of rebellious edge and cultural homage. Denshattack! is a blend of Tony Hawk, trains and shonen anime

Denshattack! is what happens when Tony Hawk trades in his skateboard for a high-speed Japanese train. Yes, you read that correctly. Denshattack! is the latest game from Barcelona indie studio Undercoders, and it's a delirious, high-speed action experience complete with flow states, a banging original soundtrack, flamboyant characters and coming-of-age drama. Players attempt to keep their train moving while jumping, wall riding, spinning, landing tricks and nailing combos. Between the rail-hopping action, there's a fully voice-acted story (in English and Japanese) about overcoming oppression and finding your true friends. It's a wacky mix of ideas, but it all comes together in a Jet Set Radio type of world that looks like a real thrill. Undercoders is based in Spain, but the studio founders have spent a lot of time backpacking through Japan, visiting the trains specifically. In a virtual briefing ahead of Denshattack! 's reveal at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, director David Jaumandreu and his team couldn't stop giggling about how much they loved trains, and it was all fairly adorable. Denshattack! is due out in early 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and it'll be available day-one on Game Pass. It features music from lead composer Tee Lopes, who's best known for Sonic Mania , Sonic Frontiers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge , and additional artists from video game music label Kid Katana will contribute to the soundtrack.
