Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 58.50, offering some respite to commercial users from July 1.
As per news agency ANI, the revised retail sale price in Delhi now stands at Rs 1,665 per cylinder.
However, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders.
The fresh cut follows a series of adjustments over the past few months. In June, oil companies had slashed the price of the commercial cylinder by Rs 24, bringing it down to Rs 1,723.50. Before that, April had witnessed a Rs 41 reduction, while February saw a Rs 7 drop and March a minor Rs 6 hike.
The reduction is expected to provide relief to small businesses like restaurants, hotels, and food vendors that depend heavily on commercial LPG for daily operations.
However, for domestic users, there will be no relief in household kitchen budgets.
While about 90 per cent of India's total LPG consumption is household-based, the remaining 10 per cent caters to commercial, industrial, and automotive sectors. Notably, domestic LPG prices are often insulated from the frequent changes seen in commercial rates.
According to ET, the average cost of India's crude oil basket dropped to $64.5 per barrel in May 2025, its lowest in three years. This easing of crude prices is expected to help oil companies reduce their LPG-related losses by approximately 45 per cent in the upcoming financial year. India's natural gas pricing is pegged to 10 per cent of this crude basket, which heavily influences domestic fuel dynamics.
Over the last ten years, domestic LPG connections have more than doubled, reaching nearly 33 crore households by April 2025.

400 high-end vehicles sold in city since Jan: BSRTC

Patna: City is witnessing a shift in trend in purchase of vehicles, with people going for luxury cars reflecting the city's growing economic affluence. From Innova Crystas to Jaguars and Porsches, high-end four-wheelers are no longer a rarity on roads. According to data from the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC), since Jan 2025, nearly 400 luxury vehicles have been purchased. Prices of such vehicles range from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Of them, a maximum of 200 units of Toyota's Innova Crysta has been sold, followed by Toyota Fortuner. As the elites of this city are increasingly opting for high-end international brands, nine Mercedes, nine Jaguars, seven Porches, two Audis and eight Range Rovers have found home in Patna in the last six months. During the last three years, 1,403 expensive four-wheelers were purchased in Patna. Compared to previous years, the sale of luxury vehicles has increased rapidly this year. Previously, in 2024, 2023 and 2022, purchase of 363, 353 and 295 high-end vehicles were made. The growing affinity for expensive four-wheelers has spurred a boom in the automotive retail sector in the city. Patna now has 59 four-wheeler showrooms, said BSRTC. Earlier people used to go to Ranchi, Kolkata or Varanasi to buy luxury cars. The surge in sales of such cars has come as a boon for the state, contributing significantly to GST and road tax revenues. Modi govt clears scheme to give job market entrants one month's wage of up to Rs 15k as incentive

With an outlay of Rs 99,446 crore, the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme will incentivise the creation of 3.5 crore jobs over two years. Of these, 1.92 crore beneficiaries will be first-timers who have just entered the workforce. The incentive will be given in two instalments—the first one payable after six months of service and the second after 12 months. New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given the green signal to a scheme giving first-time employees registered with Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) one month's wage of up to Rs 15,000 as incentives, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Tuesday. The benefits of the scheme will apply to jobs created from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027 and those with salaries of up to Rs 1 lakh will be eligible. . Earlier, presenting Budget 2024-25, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the scheme, a part of the PM's package of five schemes to facilitate employment and skilling and other opportunities for 4.1 crore youth with a total budget outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore. The benefits of the scheme, Vaishnaw said, will focus on the manufacturing sector, aligning with the Prime Minister's Internship Scheme, launched by the government in October 2024. The Centre envisions providing internship opportunities to one crore youth over the next five years under the PM's Internship Scheme to ensure they acquire skills for future employment. Aspirants will train on the job for a year, receiving Rs 5,000 as stipend per month—companies will pay Rs 500 from their CSR funds and the government Rs 4,500. The government will also pay a one-time grant of Rs 6,000 to the youth. The PM's Internship Scheme saw high interest during its launch but has, since then, been stuttering.
