I found this one in a cafe in Doune Village while traveling in Scotland. The nearby Doune Castle is the filming location for both Monty Python and the Holy Grail as well as Winterfell from Game Of Thrones. Here's the riddle: What's a bird but also a fruit but also a person? I'll post the answer in Thursday's Wordle guide. Let's solve today's! You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. I'm frustrated because I had such a strong start but couldn't pull it off in three today. CRIME left me with just 26 words and SHOAL cut that number to three. I almost guessed CEASE on my third try but went with CAUSE because it had more letter diversity. Oh well! Today's Wordle Bot I think every day of the month so far, the Bot and I have traded wins, leaving us neck-and-neck for June. I get -1 today for guessing in four and losing to the Bot, while it gets 1 point for guessing in three and 1 for beating me. Our totals are once again a tie: Erik: 2 points Wordle Bot: 2 points The verb cease comes into English via Old French cesser 'to leave off, stop,' itself from Vulgar Latin *cessāre (a frequentative form) of Latin cedere 'to go, yield.' Over time, cesser became ceasen in Middle English before settling as cease in Modern English. Let me know how you fared with your Wordle today on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Subway workers vote to strike in row over pay and working conditions

Subway workers who feel 'devalued and ignored' have voted for strike action in a dispute over pay and working conditions, a union has said. Unite said more than 100 staff employed in Glasgow's Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) subway voted by 97.5% in favour of industrial action, with a series of 24-hour stoppages planned later this month. Strikes are to take place on June 21, 25, 27 and 28 while an overtime ban will be in place from June 13. The union warned that chronic under-staffing has led to the subway system struggling, with train drivers and station staff often working up to 10 hours over their contract of 39 hours per week. Unite said that SPT has not made any improvements, and that staff are frequently called in to work additional shifts at short notice. The subway system will be closed on the day of the Punk All Dayer festival in Bellahouston Park, which features acts like Sex Pistols, the Sting, Simple Minds and Stereophonics Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: 'Unite's Glasgow subway members membership feel totally devalued and ignored. 'We will not tolerate our members being exhausted and underpaid. The subway system is running on empty. 'SPT has had every opportunity to resolve the chronic issues that have resulted in this dispute but have chosen not to act.' Andrew Brown, Unite industrial officer, said: 'The strike action will cause major disruption across the subway system but this is entirely the fault of SPT's management which has continuously ignored the workers' concerns about being overstretched and under-staffed.' SPT has been approached for comment.

H Beauty teases first look inside new Glasgow store ahead of grand opening

Luxury beauty retailer H Beauty has offered a sneak peek inside its highly anticipated new Glasgow store. In a social media post titled "trust the process", the brand shared a behind-the-scenes video showing the store's transformation—from an empty space to a fully fitted beauty haven, complete with glamorous counters and displays. The new store will open its doors on Thursday, 12 June, at Silverburn Shopping Centre. The official opening date was confirmed over the weekend via the Harrods Beauty Instagram page. The brand also revealed that MyBeauty members will enjoy exclusive perks throughout the opening weekend, including exclusive discounts, live entertainment, a chance to win freebies, and surprise treats running through to 15 June. Their post read: "H Beauty Glasgow, are you ready? "H beauty Silverburn lands June 12 and trust us, this is no ordinary opening. "MyBeauty members will unlock a whole host of perks all weekend: 10% off selected purchases, a chance to spin the wheel to win prizes, live entertainment and major surprises all weekend long until June 15." READ MORE: The Glasgow Times reported in November last year that Silverburn Shopping Centre confirmed H Beauty's arrival, announcing that the retailer would occupy a 22,500-square-foot unit within the centre, part of the former Debenhams space. The move marks H Beauty's second Scottish location, joining its existing store in Edinburgh's St James Quarter, and its sixth store across the UK. The opening forms part of a wider strategy by joint venture partners Henderson Park and Eurofund Group, leading European real estate firms, who have been repurposing key retail spaces to revitalise the centre's offering. Once open, shoppers can expect an extensive range of make-up, skincare, and fragrance from a variety of premium and emerging brands, as H Beauty continues to redefine the in-store beauty experience.
