EXCLUSIVE: After King, Is Shah Rukh Khan teaming up with Mythri? Here's the real truth
A source close to the actor confirms, ' Shah Rukh Khan is presently focusing and putting all his energies on King. He will take a call on his next after King by the end of this year. He has not done any meeting with Mythri, so the matter of greenlighting a script doesn't even come into the picture.' The source further informed that Shah Rukh Khan will be shooting for King till the first quarter of 2026, and will start the process of locking his next towards the end of 2025.
'There are multiple scripts, multiple films that have been offered, and SRK will take a call on his next towards the end of 2025. Interestingly, none of them are by Mythri,' the source adds. As reported by us before, the two films in consideration at the moment include Pathaan 2, and a probable sequel to Main Hoon Na, but he could do either of the two and something else. 'However, as mentioned above, the energies are presently invested in King. The Siddharth Anand directorial is being mounted on a humongous scale, with Shah Rukh Khan flexing his aura in the larger-than-life avatar like never before. As a gangster, the audience would get to see the swag he carried as Don, but this time in a much massier way,' the source concludes.
Talking of King, the film rides on a strong ensemble led by SRK and Deepika Padukone with Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rani Mukerji, Abhay Verma, and Jackie Shroff in key roles. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Box Office: Coolie takes a decent start in Hindi; Rajinikanth & Lokesh Kanagaraj film hits Rs 5 crore on day one
The Rajinikanth-led Coolie has taken a decent start in Hindi with estimates indicating first-day business in the range of Rs 4.50 crore to Rs 5.50 crore. The film faced competition from the Hrithik Roshan and NTR led War 2, but has managed to get some traction in the mass belts to put up a reasonable number. The reports are mixed, which means that a long theatrical run is unlikely, but the makers will be hoping to rake in close to Rs 25 crore over the four-day extended opening weekend. Coolie is looking to rake in Rs 2.50 crore in the top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – which are contributing about 45 percent to 50 percent to the total business. The film has released on about 1400 screens, on 3800 shows in India, having enough capacity to grow on the second day. Coolie has taken the second biggest start for a Tamil film dubbed in Hindi, the top spot is occupied by another Rajinikanth film, 2.0, aided by the presence of Akshay Kumar. The Tamil version also did good business in North India with collections expected to be in the range of Rs 1.75 crore. Talking of Coolie, the film is doing record business outside of North India – be it the domestic belt in Tamil Nadu, or the business internationally and of course, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. An article on the all India opening of Coolie shall follow soon. In Hindi, it's a decent start, giving the film a sample size, and it's now on the word of mouth to push the business in the days to come. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!

Box Office Trends: Hrithik Roshan and NTR starrer War 2 headed for a Rs 27 crore start in Hindi
The Hrithik Roshan and NTR-led War 2 has opened below expectations in Hindi as the very early trends are indicating first-day business in the range of Rs 26.00 crore to Rs 28.00 crore. The opening has come below expectations, and the hope is on the film to make use of the extended holiday period over the next 3-days to hit a respectable number through the extended weekend. As off 5.30 PM, the Ayan Mukerji directorial has collected Rs 9.75 crore in the national chains including advances for the remaining shows, and is looking for a total closing at Rs 12.75 crore to Rs 13.25 crore. The national chain contribution for War 2 will be around 45 percent to 50 percent, which puts the first day business projection in the above range. The collections were not up-to the mark in the mass belts too, and the eyes are now on the business of War 2 on Independence Day. The early reports from the audience are not in the film's favour, but we will get the real idea of word of mouth based on the theatrical trend in the coming days. War 2 should have definitely taken a bigger start in Hindi, but it's probably the case of assets – teaser, trailer, and music - not landing as well in the cinema-going audience. On the plus, War 2 is flirting to be the number one opening, battling Chhaava, and the trend in the evening and night shows will decide the final outcome. In the era where most production houses opt for corporate bookings and self-buyings, YRF has managed to stay out of the rat race even in a scenario like this, and this deserves a special mention, as the easiest thing to do in this scenario is to buy tickets for the sake of perception.
