The results of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET) were released by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Anantapur on Thursday.
Out of the 34,224 candidates who sat for the examination, an impressive 31,922 students, representing 93.26 per cent, successfully qualified. B. Durga Prasad, the AP ECET convener, confirmed the results, highlighting the strong performance of the candidates.

Hyderabad: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad will confer honorary doctorate to Professor TG Sitharam, Chairman All India Council for Technical Education, during its XIII convocation on Tuesday. During the ceremony, around 74 gold medals will be presented to meritorious students. A total of 92,118 degrees – 77,559 Undergraduate, 13,063 Postgraduate, 950 Doctor of Pharmacy, 305 Doctor of Philosophy and 241 other degrees will be presented to successful students during the event. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who is also JNTU-Hyderabad Chancellor, will take part in the convocation and Professor Sitharam will deliver the convocation address. 'According to JNTUH officials, the University is in the process of revising the course curriculum and the syllabi of all UG and PG programmes in the form of R25 regulations, which will be applicable from the academic year 2025-26,' Professor Reddy said, adding that the main objective of the syllabus revision is to prepare industry need based curriculum that will enhance employability skills, 'A total of 791 students of JNTU-Hyderabad University colleges/units have been placed during campus interviews for the academic year 2024-25.

ANANTAPUR: Governor and Chancellor S Abdul Nazeer presided over the 14th Convocation of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Anantapur, on Saturday. The Governor awarded 41 gold medals to meritorious students and conferred an honorary doctorate on Dr Satyanarayana Chava, CEO of Lawrence Labs in Hyderabad. Pujith Kumar Reddy won six gold medals, the highest number, followed by Supraja with four. JNTUA Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Professor Ph Sudarshana Rao presented the university's progress report. The Governor hailed the university's contribution to technical education across Rayalaseema and its implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He stressed the need for skill-based learning, innovation, and inclusive development. He cited initiatives such as Quantum Valley, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) job fairs, and the Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra 2047 missions as vital for creating a self-reliant and equitable India. Nazeer urged students to explore rural innovation, engage with startups, and uphold civic responsibility. He quoted Abdul Kalam and Tagore, encouraging graduates to be skilled, compassionate leaders. He concluded by wishing them a purposeful journey ahead, calling them the torchbearers of a developed India. Professor MR Madhav, former IIT Kanpur faculty, served as chief guest.

‘Quantum Valley' will ignite tech research, says Guv

Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer on Saturday said that the TDP-led NDA government's plans to set up a 'Quantum Valley' will position the State as a leading centre of quantum technology research and development in India. Addressing a convocation at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU)-Anantapur, the Governor also noted that Andhra Pradesh government's SwarnaAndhra-2047 (golden Andhra Pradesh) vision aligns with the national mission of 'Viksit Bharat'. "The state government's plan to establish Quantum Valley, a quantum computing hub in Amaravati, as part of India's National Quantum Mission, will position the state as a leading centre for quantum technology research and development in India," said Nazeer. According to the Governor, 'Viksit Bharat' will offer every citizen access to quality education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and a dignified life. To achieve this vision, several programmes like digital economy, renewable energy, start-ups, education, health, and skill development have been initiated with a participatory approach, encouraging citizens, students, youth, and all institutions to actively contribute towards this dream, he said. SwarnaAndhra-2047 vision aligned with the national mission of 'Viksit Bharat', he added. He said the roadmap drawn up by the state government aims to achieve economic prosperity, technological advancement, social equality, and environmental sustainability by 2047. Meanwhile, JNTU Anantapur celebrated its 14th Convocation ceremony with grandeur. The Governor conferred a honorary doctorate on Dr Satyanarayana Chava, Founder of Hyderabad-based Laurus Labs Ltd.
