New Delhi: Social media star Apoorva Mukhija recently faced intense scrutiny and backlash following her comments on the show India's Got Talent. In a recent interview with Yuvaa, the influencer revealed that amidst the trolling and even death threats, she spoke with actor Rhea Chakraborty—someone who had undergone a similar experience after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
In her conversation with Yuvaa, Apoorva shared the constant security concerns she faced during the controversy. "Ganesh didn't let me step out without four bouncers and a driver. Even at the airport, I had a bouncer with me. I couldn't go back home for six to seven days because people knew my address. I was getting pictures of my building saying, 'We know where you live.' I cried every day. My mooh-boli sister Suman Didi was supposed to attend a wedding, but I had to cancel a fake award show appearance and rush back from Jaipur to Delhi. I was terrified."
She said she video-called Rhea Chakraborty, believing she would understand what she was going through. 'I spoke to her on a video call for an hour. She got it. She knew what I was going through.'
Apoorva also revealed that she wanted to publicly acknowledge the controversy but was advised to stay silent. 'I talk about everything, right? But people told me—if you speak now, they'll twist your words, and it'll start another media cycle. I had no choice but to stay silent.'
She went on to discuss how the situation affected her professional life: 'I didn't realize how much I loved working until I couldn't. I hadn't taken a day off in years—always vlogging, creating, thinking of brand posts. And suddenly, it was all gone. I lost so much business. Brands said it wasn't a good time to be associated. In one second, everything disappeared.'
Rhea Chakraborty also faced intense media scrutiny in 2020 when she was accused of abetment of suicide following the death of her then-boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

A special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has granted permission to actress Rhea Chakraborty to travel abroad for professional commitments. The court has allowed her to travel out of India from June 1 to September 15, 2025. Chakraborty, who is involved in a drug case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been granted permission to visit Sri Lanka, Serbia, and various European countries to work on a new project. Rhea Chakraborty had recently submitted an application in the court seeking permission to travel abroad. She had stated that she was required to travel for the filming of Stepsons season one, an international production. Therefore, she requested the temporary release of her passport for visa processing. However, the prosecution opposed the plea and argued that the actress might use this opportunity to abscond. Rejecting the concerns, the court stated that Chakraborty is a Mumbai resident with 'deep roots in society". In an order dated May 29, Special Judge CS Datir stated that Rhea had previously travelled abroad with the court's permission when she also complied fully with all bail conditions. 'Considering her request and keeping in mind her past behaviour, I am inclined to allow her to travel abroad for the aforesaid period," the court ruled and then added, 'There is no occasion that she had infringed the bail conditions," as quoted by Hindustan Times. For the unversed, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2020 after they found some chats with alleged drug peddlers on her WhatsApp. She was granted bail later, but had restrictions on her travel for a long time. Previously, in an interview, the actress, who was recently seen in Roadies, recalled her jail experience and called it 'frustrating'. 'It's frustrating; they're languishing, but they know when and how to catch that happiness. And it can be as small as a samosa on a Sunday. It can be as small as somebody dancing for them. So it's just perspective; it's how you look at it," she said. 'At that point, yes, my life was in the worst hell it could have been. But heaven or hell is a choice in your head that you can make. It's difficult to choose heaven each time. But the battle is of the mind, and if you have the strength and desire in your heart, you'll most definitely battle the mind and win," Rhea added. Spl court allows Rhea to travel abroad for work commitments
Mumbai: Accused in the drugs case probed following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput , actor Rhea Chakraborty has been granted permission by a special court to travel abroad for professional commitments for three months. The order allowed Chakraborty to journey to Sri Lanka, Serbia and various European countries between June 1 and Sept 15 for an acting role in the project 'Stepsons S1'. While the prosecution had opposed the plea, the court noted she had been granted permission in the past and had not violated any conditions. "Moreover, she is a resident of Mumbai, having deep roots in the society therefore, chances of absconding is lesser. Considering her request and keeping in mind her past behaviour I am inclined to allow to travel abroad for the aforesaid period," the judge said. Her lawyer highlighted her previous successful international travels on six occasions, during which she consistently adhered to all bail conditions and returned. tnn

Actor Rhea Chakraborty has been permitted by a special court to travel to Sri Lanka, Europe and Serbia to shoot a series. Chakraborty, who was booked in a drugs case after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has been permitted to travel on six occasions before and she has adhered by all the conditions, the court noted. Chakraborty filed a plea stating directions that her passport be returned to her and that she be allowed to travel to the three places between June and September. It was submitted that the travel is for the purpose of shooting episodes in a project titled Stepsons. She sought her passport so that she could complete the visa process as well. While the Narcotics Control Bureau opposed her plea stating that the crime is serious, the court noted that she had travelled in the past and had on no occasion infringed on the conditions. 'Moreover, she is a resident of Mumbai, having deep roots in the society. Therefore, chances of absconding are lesser. Considering her request and keeping in mind her past behaviour, I am inclined to allow to travel abroad for the aforesaid period,' special judge C S Datir said in the order on May 29. The trial in the case is yet to begin. In 2023, the Bombay High Court had suspended a lookout circular issued against Chakraborty and allowed her to travel abroad. The high court in 2024 quashed the circular. The circulars were in connection with another case filed by the CBI against Chakraborty and her parents and brother, in connection with Rajput's death, alleging their role in its abetment. The CBI had in March filed a closure report, seeking to close that case stating that it was a simple case of suicide and there was no criminal offence by anyone named in the probe.
