Katie Thurston Pauses Cancer Treatment Amid Spots Found In Liver
Katie Thurston recently shared a new update on her cancer journey. Diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in February, she was preparing to start treatment. However, a recent setback has delayed her plans after doctors discovered spots on her liver, raising new concerns about her condition.
Katie Thurston recently shared a difficult update regarding her cancer battle. After being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in February, she was preparing to start treatment when doctors discovered spots on her liver, raising concerns that the disease may have progressed to stage 4.
On March 24, Thurston took to Instagram's Boobie Broadcast channel to reveal that her biopsy was scheduled for Friday (via E! News). 'My biopsy is scheduled Friday which would have been my treatment day,' she said.
Her doctor expressed concern that the spots on her liver were likely cancerous, which would significantly change her diagnosis and treatment plan. She also reached out to others living with stage 4 cancer, seeking insight into their experiences with daily life and motherhood.
Thurston has been open about her medical journey, sharing the emotional and physical struggles of treatment. As part of a clinical trial, she received a Zoladex injection to help shrink tumors.
She said, 'Do I cry too much? Hyperventilating too much? Not brave enough? I'm here to stay as long as they'll allow it.' In addition to her treatment, Thurston is undergoing IVF to preserve her fertility for the future.
Her health update comes just days after she married comedian Jeff Arcuri in an intimate backyard ceremony on March 22. The couple announced their marriage on social media, sharing plans for a larger celebration once she completes her treatment (via US Weekly).

Julianne Hough Shares Intimate Video of Her 'Egg-Freezing Journey': 'Navigating Fertility Is Never Simple'
Julianne Hough shared a video on Instagram revealing that she's undergoing her third round of egg freezing "Here we go. All in the name of having a little baby," the Dancing with the Stars alum said in the clip Hough described the process as "one of the most vulnerable experiences… physically, emotionally, and for sure hormonally"Julianne Hough is sharing her journey to becoming a mother one day. The Dancing with the Stars alum revealed that she was freezing her eggs in a video offering an intimate look at the process, which she shared on her Instagram on Saturday, June 7. 'Here we go,' Hough said in the video that she dubbed her "egg freezing journey," noting it was 'all in the name of having a little baby.' The video takes viewers through the course of 10 days, where Hough is seen smiling and dancing while she injects herself. She is also seen going to doctor's appointments. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Julianne Hough (@juleshough) By day eight, she noted that her 'hormones were kicking in. My boobs are bigger. Everything is happening.' is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Hough went into greater detail in a lengthy caption accompanying the video, thanking Dr. Carolyn Alexander and her team at Southeast Crescent Regional Commission, which specializes in fertility care and helping to create families, according to its website. 'Navigating fertility is never simple, especially with endometriosis and my own personal timeline and hopes around having children… but with them, I've always felt safe, supported and fully informed,' she wrote, adding that this was now her third round of egg freezing.'I know it's not always the most comfortable thing to talk about, let alone share publicly. But I've realized how important it is to open up about these things,' she continued. 'Women all over the world are quietly walking into doctors' offices, making huge, brave decisions about their bodies and their futures.' Hough described the process as "one of the most vulnerable experiences… physically, emotionally, and for sure hormonally." She further reflected on why she wanted to be so transparent with her fans. 'If sharing just a small piece of my journey helps someone feel less alone, or inspires them to ask questions and explore what's right for them, then I feel like it's worth it,' she wrote. In a 2020 interview with Women's Health, Hough shared that her endometriosis — which is a reproductive condition in which uterine tissue grows outside of the uterus, causing cramping and chronic pain — made her want to freeze her eggs. 'I think the healthier I am from the inside out — as far as my beliefs, my energy, what I'm putting into my body — the better prepared I'll be when the time comes,' she said at the time, when she was married to Brooks Laich. 'We never actually tried to get pregnant. It was more of a precautionary measure: Let's do our due diligence for the future by freezing eggs.' Hough ended her June 7 post by once again thanking her medical team for their unwavering care. 'I truly couldn't be more grateful for this team who's been with me since my second endometriosis laparoscopy surgery back in 2017… they've been like family ever since 💛,' she wrote. Her post received an overwhelming amount of support from celebrities and fans alike, who applauded her for being so open. From film sets to sports stadiums, Bollywood actors are changing the game
When it comes to ambition, Indian film stars are no strangers to reinvention. And now, a growing number of them are making headlines not for their roles in films, but for their strategic forays into the high-stakes world of professional sport. This isn't about a passing passion or publicity stunt — it's a savvy business decision that's reshaping how India consumes both entertainment and sport. Of course, it helps that today's sports presentation is slicker than ever before. Anchors, presenters, and commentators have evolved into celebrities in their own right. Nikita Anand, who first made her mark as Miss India Universe and an actor, has emerged as the most articulate and celebrated presenter in Indian sports broadcasting. She has been a part of major shows like the Indian Super League on Star Sports and Cup Tak on Star News. Her work consistently garners appreciation on Instagram, where fans praise not just her fluency but also the emotional intelligence she brings to her presentation. 'Presenting sport isn't just about stats and scores,' she says. 'It's about capturing the moment, connecting with the energy, and giving the audience something real to hold on to.' Which is exactly what India's actors-turned-sports-investors are doing. Whether it's a stadium full of fans or a streaming audience at home, they're building experiences. They're building brands. And more than anything, they're betting on the future of Indian sport. This shift has taken centre stage over the past decade. It began, unmistakably, with the Indian Premier League. Cricket has always been more than just a game in India — it's religion, celebration, and business rolled into one. When Shah Rukh Khan picked up ownership of the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008, alongside Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta, it wasn't just a glitzy endorsement. It was a business masterstroke. 'Sport is no longer operating in a silo. It's entertainment, it's performance, and it's powerful storytelling. Those familiar with cinema instinctively understand these elements — which is why the connection with sport comes so naturally,' says Nikita. Take Preity Zinta, who made headlines as the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). Or Shilpa Shetty, whose involvement with Rajasthan Royals gave the team an extra sheen of stardust in the early IPL seasons. Their investment was financial, sure, but equally emotional and promotional — the fans followed, and so did the sponsors. But cricket is only one chapter. The new story is being written in football, kabaddi, and beyond. Abhishek Bachchan jumped into the action with Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Pro Kabaddi League. John Abraham made his move with NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League, showing a genuine commitment to building football in a region rich in sporting potential. Ranbir Kapoor took co-ownership of Mumbai City FC, which has gone on to make impressive strides on the pitch and off it. 'There's real involvement here — participating in team decisions, engaging with strategy, meeting fans, and promoting sports at the grassroots. It's star power and substance,' Nikita explains. What's emerging is a pattern. Indian actors are no longer waiting for scripts — they're writing their own, and sport is proving to be an exciting new plotline. The shift is being driven by more than just passion. Sport is one of India's fastest-growing industries. With a young population, increasing urbanisation, and rising media consumption, the commercial upside is vast. Ticket sales, merchandise, broadcasting rights, streaming content — it's a complete entertainment ecosystem. 'Understanding audience psychology plays a huge role — knowing how to build loyalty, how to sell a moment, and how to turn emotion into energy. That's what great sport is all about too. The synergy is undeniable,' adds Nikita. From cricket fields to kabaddi courts, from football turf to business boardrooms, these stars are stepping into new arenas. Not to perform, but to participate — to shape what comes next. As Nikita Anand puts it, 'The stage has changed, but the showmanship, the intent and drive remain.' And now, it's game on.
