A former NITI Aayog official has complained to Air India, expressing dissatisfaction about an unpleasant experience while flying business class in an aircraft of the Tata Group-owned airline.
Urvashi Prasad, a former NITI Aayog director, shared two photos on X, showing a broken seat which she claimed was from her Air India AI2996 Bombay to Delhi flight.
In the photo, a rectangular panel had come off the business class seat that she had booked.
'Broken seats in business class in Air India flight AI 2996 Bombay to Delhi… can only hope the rest of the plane is working," Prasad, the only lateral entrant to work with three successive vice chairpersons at the NITI Aayog, said in the post on X.

Responding to her post, Air India said that they will look into the matter. 'Dear Ms Prasad, we're concerned to note this. Your feedback is important to us, and we'll make sure it gets addressed promptly," the airline replied.
Air India has faced frequent passenger complaints about service deficiencies, while also urging the press to refrain from maligning the reputation of the airline without corroborating facts.

Earlier this month, during earnings conference call, Milind Lakkad, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at TCS said that the workforce at the end of the first quarter was 6,13,069. 'Net attrition during the quarter was over 5,000 employees. We have honored all the job offers, and we'll do so for the rest of the year. Lateral hiring will be recalibrated based on the demand outlook,' he said, as per the exchange filing.

Air India pays interim damages to families of 166 crash victims
Advt By , PTI Private carrier Air India on Saturday said it has paid the interim compensation to the families of 166 victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash last payment to the families of another 52 victims is in the process, it added. The plane crash, one of the worst air disasters in India in decades, involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner operating as Air India flight the 242 people onboard, 241 were killed, while the total death toll stood at 260, including casualties on the June 14, Air India announced that it will provide an interim compensation of ₹25 lakh, or approximately £21,500, to the families of each of the deceased and survivors of the Ahmedabad plane crash to help address immediate financial needs."Air India has released the interim compensation to the families of 147 of the 229 deceased passengers and also the 19 who lost their lives at the accident site," the airline said in the addition, the requisite documents of 52 others have been verified, and the interim compensation will be released progressively to the families, it noted.
