‘Door open' for Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner to play at music venue's final gig
Kane made the comments in an interview with Radio X (Andrew Milligan/PA)
Asked whether the Sheffield-born singer, who is also 39, would join him, Kane said: 'Well, he's redecorating it (The Leadmill) at the minute, so he's making it all leopard print for us, because, you know, it's got to be done by hand.
'My door's always open for my bro, he knows that, and that's that.'
Turner has not performed live since Arctic Monkeys' last gig on their tour in support of latest album The Car (2022) in 2023.
The duo have seen both of their albums with The Last Shadow Puppets reach number one in the UK albums chart, and Kane said it would be an 'honour' to play The Leadmill's last gig having performed there throughout his career.
He told Radio X: 'It's served me well, and Sheffield as a city as well has always had my back with gigs, that'd be one of the first to sell out or whatever.
'So, it's a complete honour, and let's give it a good send-off. I think it'll be a very special night, and it always pops off in there, and hopefully next Friday it won't be any different.'
Arctic Monkeys have seen six of their seven albums reach number one, and two of their singles reach the peak of the UK singles chart in I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and When The Sun Goes Down.
The band performed I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and a cover of The Beatles' Come Together at the opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games in 2012, and have also headlined Glastonbury on three occasions, in 2007, 2013 and 2023.

US rapper Sean Kingston jailed for million-dollar fraud scheme
Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Paul Anderson, and his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, were each convicted in March by a federal jury of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud. Turner was sentenced to five years in prison last month. The singer apologised to judge David Leibowitz before he was sentenced in South Florida, saying he had learned from his actions. His lawyer asked if he could self-surrender at a later date due to health issues, but the judge ordered Kingston to be taken into custody immediately. The rapper, who was wearing a black suit and white shirt, removed his suit jacket and was handcuffed and led from the courtroom. Kingston, 35, and his mother were arrested in May 2024 after a raid on his rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Turner was taken into custody during the raid, while Kingston was arrested at Fort Irwin, an Army training base in California's Mojave Desert, where he was performing. According to court records, Kingston used social media from April 2023 to March 2024 to arrange purchases of high-end merchandise. After negotiating deals, Kingston would invite the sellers to one of his high-end Florida homes and promise to feature them and their products on social media. Investigators said that when it came time to pay, Kingston or his mother would text the victims fake receipts for the luxury merchandise, which included a bulletproof Escalade vehicle, watches and a 19ft (5.9-metre) LED TV, investigators said. When the funds never cleared, victims often contacted Kingston and Turner repeatedly, but were either never paid or received money only after filing lawsuits or contacting police. Kingston, who was born in Florida and raised in Jamaica, shot to fame aged 17 with the hit Beautiful Girls, which laid his lyrics over Ben E King's 1961 song Stand By Me. The song was at number one in the UK singles chart for four weeks in 2007.

Sophie Turner reveals how she broke up a Hollywood couple's engagement
Sophie Turner has recalled the time when an innocent gesture apparently resulted in an A-list Hollywood couple calling off their engagement. The Game of Thrones star, 29, rose to fame on the American fantasy series, playing series heroine Sansa Stark throughout all eight seasons between 2011 and 2019. Between 2019 and 2024, she was married to Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers – with which she shares two children – and has rubbed shoulders with the top brass in Hollywood for some time now. But rubbing shoulders apparently isn't all Sophie did – she now claims to have broken up a high-profile couple, if her latest confession on Late Night with Seth Meyers is to be believed. The Northampton-born actress appeared on the late night talk show to promote her brand new movie The Dreadful, which she stars in alongside fellow Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington. During their conversation, Sophie and Seth both reflected on the first time they met each other, which was at the San Diego Comic Con afterparty in 2014. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Sophie, who would have been 19 years old at the time, then reflected on how a night that began in 'high spirits' but soon went 'really south really quickly'. 'We were going to have a great night,' she began. 'And then – I really can't name names or I'll get in a lot of trouble. But I brought my best friend from my school days with me. 'She saw an actor she absolutely loved and [she asked me] if I could just say hello [on her behalf],' Sophie explained, also revealing that she'd never seen this actor before in her life and that she didn't recognise him. 'I didn't know this actor so I just [waved] and that was it. But then, later on, I saw this girl looking at me, and she was a famous actress. I had to go and tell [this actress] how much she means to me.' But when Sophie walked over, that's when things turned bad. 'I danced over and this actress said, 'Can you stop flirting with my fiancé?' So I ask who her fiancé was, and she pointed at the guy I'd waved at. I have no idea who this man is, but it turns out they broke their engagement off that night.' She laughed: '[Apparently] because of my wave. I didn't realise I held this power. [I said to my school friend] 'Look what you did!' It's not clear who the couple was, but since Sophie's story went out several online sleuths have been aiming to piece together the clues and uncover the true story. More Trending This latest story from Sophie comes just days after she was criticised – and then immediately hit back – for apparently 'forgetting' her children at an Oasis concert. After she posted a photo of herself and a friend at a recent Gallagher brothers show on social media, her followers 'reminded' the actress of her daughters Willa and Delphine. View More » To which Sophie responded: 'Ah, I'm so sorry, sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves. There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.' Got a story?
