Aspinall won two nights to qualify in third place behind Luke Littler and Luke Humphries.
He takes on the latter in the semi-final and regardless of the result, it has been a brilliant journey for the 33-year-old.
Aspinall has returned to form since struggling with dartitis over the last couple of years.
The issue first plagued him in the 2023 Premier League Darts as he threw away a 4-0 lead to lose to Peter Wright.
His struggles even reduced him to tears and he feared he may never return to his best.
Aspinall spoke openly about his emotional reaction to one loss, and revealed he has since spoken to a sports psychologist to help him adjust to the problem.
He said: "All of a sudden out of nowhere I couldn't throw my effing dart. I just couldn't let it go. It ended up getting worse and worse and worse to the point where I was in tears.
"Because I knew what it was. The dreaded D-word that no darts player ever wants to hear or get. Something called dartitis.
"It's horrific, no one ever wants to get it. Not many people come back from it.
"It's basically the fear of missing. There's somewhere deep in the back of your head saying 'you're going to miss this' so you stop.
Nathan Aspinall shows frustration with outburst playing against Martin Lukeman
"I lost the game 6-5, I went upstairs after the game and I was in the toilet and I was absolutely smashing ten lumps of s*** out of the hand dryer. I lost my head."
Aspinall won the European Darts Trophy in March but has failed to progress past the quarter-final stage at every other tournament this year.
Success in the Premier League would be his first major honour since the 2023 World Matchplay.
It would also more than justify Aspinall's selection, which attracted criticism and ruined his life for a month, by the star's own admission.
He said of the grief: "I'm not going to lie, it was s**. It was hard. It was horrific.
"I came off social media because of the abuse I was getting.
"I'm not exaggerating here but it ruined my life for a month. Not just my life, my family's lives, too. It was horrific.
"But I'm a professional sportsman, you have to deal with it. And I put things in place to deal with that.
"Me and Gezzy (Gerwyn Price) received both the same treatment and have used it to our advantage. I've enjoyed this Premier League campaign more than anyone."
Aspinall has experienced a wild ride to the top ranks of darts, having turned to the sport after missing out on a professional career as a footballer.
He said: "I got scouted to play at the Manchester United goalkeeping Academy, it was a feeder club for Manchester United and other clubs."
Aspinall's shot-stopping ability also caught the eye of Scottish giants Rangers, although he snubbed their advances as his family didn't fancy the move up north.
He continued: "I got offered contracts for Rangers when I was nine, I played for Stockport County and had trials with them.
"Football was the way I wanted to go. Every kid wants to be a footballer.
"It didn't work out for me but I played at a semi-pro level and I'm now a professional darts player.
"If I was a little bit taller I could have made it. I got released because I was too small as a goalkeeper. I wasn't tall enough.
"I met Edwin van der Sar a couple of weeks ago and now I realise why I didn't make it, because he's about 19ft."

Man Utd and Newcastle on alert after club drop Benjamin Sesko interest
Manchester United and Newcastle's battle to sign Benjamin Sesko has taken a twist after a third club pulled out of the transfer race for the striker. Sesko has emerged as a top target for both Premier League teams, with RB Leipzig rejecting a £70million offer from the Magpies over the weekend. It is said Leipzig were happy with the overall sum of Newcastle's bid but not the payment structure, while United are reportedly 'ready to match' their rival's offer. But they are not the only clubs involved in the saga, with the Slovenian striker on the shortlist of Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal after they failed to sign Victor Osimhen. As per The Athletic, Al-Hilal have also looked at Newcastle's Alexander Isak – who wants to leave St. James' Park for Liverpool – but now they believe the Swede and Sesko are unattainable. As a result, they have now entered talks with Liverpool over a deal for Darwin Nunez, who has been tipped to leave Anfield all summer. It is said the Uruguayan is now their top target and have informed the Reds of their interest, though a formal bid is yet to be made. Liverpool signed Nunez in 2022 in a deal worth up to £85m but the centre-forward hasn't been the elite goalscorer they hoped for, returning 40 goals in 143 games. Arne Slot gave the 26-year-old just eight starts in the Premier League last season, with the summer additions of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike casting further doubt on his Merseyside future. More Trending If Nunez does indeed move to Saudi Arabia, it could spark a chain reaction in the transfer market, with Liverpool more likely to make another bid for Isak after their opening £110m offer was immediately rejected. Eddie Howe's side are determined to keep their talisman, who scored 27 goals across all competitions last season and is considered one of the best strikers in the world. They value him at £150m but if they were to sell it may boost their chances of buying Sesko who recorded 21 goals last season and was previously pursued by Arsenal. It is said the 22-year-old is open to joining either Newcastle or Manchester United, with the former also eyeing up PSG's Goncalo Ramos as an alternative. Darwin Nunez's Liverpool exit edges closer in next stage of Reds' summer transfer plan
Darwin Nunez is heavily linked with the Liverpool exit door and the striker could find himself heading to Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal making the Uruguayan their top target Al Hilal are ramping up their efforts to sign Liverpool's Darwin Nunez after identifying him as their priority target this summer. The Saudi side have eyed a number of strikers but have now landed on the Uruguayan. Nunez's exit has been expected this summer, although a number of routes out of Anfield have been closed off. His form has tailed off and, despite once being the Reds' record-signing at £85million, Arne Slot is ready to move the striker on with the Middle East now his likely landing spot. Back in January Liverpool turned down an offer from another Saudi side in Al Nassr, but Al Hilal have since come to the negotiating table and been told the conditions of the deal. The Athletic reports that no offer has been lodged, but the transfer moves have begun. Al Hilal, now led by former Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi, had pursued Victor Osimhen before he joined Galatasaray. Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko were on their radar but both men were considered to be beyond them. Nunez previously had a host of Europe's top sides eyeing his services following his breakout season with Benfica. At Liverpool though he's struggled for consistency, scoring 40 times in 143 games. However last year he only found the net seven times. Aleksandar Mitrovic has led the line for Al Hilal since leaving Fulham to join the Saudi outfit, but they are looking to raid the Premier League for more attacking reinforcements. Liverpool meanwhile have made adding more forwards a priority this summer, which has impacted on Nunez's standing at Anfield. Hugo Ekitike has been signed from Frankfurt for £79m and will aid the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and new signing Florian Wirtz. The Reds are now going after Isak, who has made it clear he wants to explore his options away from Newcastle. The Magpies have rejected an £110m offer for the Swedish frontman and Liverpool could return with a fresh offer if the striker does push harder for the exit door. Nunez's possible sale could help finance a renewed bid for Isak with the club recently green lighting the departure of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, which has banked the Reds £65.5m.
