Pauline Hanson is a ‘soccer mum' for supporting her One Nation candidate daughter
Menzies Research Centre Nick Cater calls One Nation leader Pauline Hanson a 'soccer mum' for supporting her daughter, One Nation Senate candidate Lee Hanson.
'It's nice to see Pauline Hanson behaving like a soccer mum,' Mr Cater told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
'Good on her daughter for having the courage to stand.
'Good on the Tasmanian people for recognising somebody who will really represent their interests as opposed to somebody who votes with Labor, Greens, whoever.'

Pauline Hanson calls for review into salaries of public servants while choosing not to comment on pay rise of federal politicians
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has called for a review into the salaries of public servant workers following the pay rise for federal politicians. Senator Hanson has 'beef about' public servants' salaries and her review calls come after the decision to give federal politicians a 2.4 per cent pay rise, which was confirmed on Wednesday. The One Nation leader joined Sky News host Chris Kenny where she did not comment about the pay rise of federal politicians and instead Hanson turned her attention to a review of the salary of public servants. 'What I do have a beef about is what some of these public servants are paid and I think they're ridiculously paid on $600,000, $700,000 a year,' she said. 'That needs to be reviewed. 'Look at the Postmaster-Generals, they're on $1.3 million plus. End up with nearly $3 million. Look at those people.' All public offices within the tribunal's jurisdiction will receive the 2.4 per cent pay rise, including federal politicians, senior public servants and departmental secretaries. The pay rise comes after the 2025 Review of Remuneration for Holders of Public Office by the Australian government's remuneration tribunal. 'The remuneration increases the tribunal has awarded to offices in its jurisdiction over the past decade have been relatively modest,' the tribunal said in a statement. Prior to her diving into her public servant salary 'beef', Senator Hanson did not comment on the latest federal politician wage boost. 'Well, Chris, my understanding is 2.4 million welfare recipients are also receiving that pay rise. Also, people on tax benefits A and B are receiving that pay rise... and there's been other pay rises right across the board for other people, low-income workers, so everyone's received a pay rise,' she said. 'So, I'm not going to comment on it other than that and you know for the work that we do, so anyway.' Prime Minister Albanese will receive a $15,000 pay rise from July 1, seeing his annual salary bump up to $622,050 from $607,471. Opposition Leader Sussan Ley will receive an additional $10,374 per year, bringing her total salary to $442,634.

‘An absolute joke': Pauline Hanson roasts Anthony Albanese for round table policy talks
One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson says it is 'an absolute joke' that the Albanese government will have a round table in an attempt to come up with some economic policies. 'The whole fact is they are destroying the economy with their climate change policies,' Ms Hanson told Sky News host Chris Kenny. 'He [Anthony Albanese] needs to have a look at his own backyard.'

‘Cynical': Tasmanian parliament vote of no confidence examined amid stadium concerns
Tasmania Business and Transport Minister Eric Abetz examines the Tasmanian vote of no confidence controversy concerning the proposed Tasmanian stadium. 'We are committed to the stadium, there's no doubt about that,' Mr Abetz told Sky News host Chris Kenny. 'Let's be clear, back in 2019, the organically grown Tasmanian task force for an AFL team recommended a stadium in the CBD at the current location with a roof. 'The Labor Party, they were against it, now they're for it. 'People are every cynical … this was destruction, negativity writ large.'
