Noel Edmonds is set for a sensational return to our screens, and he's bringing his iconic sidekick Mr Blobby along for the ride.
ITV is gearing up to air 'Noel Edmond's Kiwi Adventure' in the coming weeks, marking the veteran presenter's comeback to primetime television. The show will document how Noel, aged 76, embarked on a new chapter in New Zealand with his wife Liz after more than half a century on British TV.
The series promises to give viewers an insight into Noel's ambitious project of creating New Zealand's inaugural energy garden and nurturing a nascent enterprise. Two years back, the couple acquired land near Ngatimoti, a quaint rural settlement, where they've established a hospitality venture at the community's core, complete with a vineyard, coffee cart, general store, and a pub and restaurant poised to welcome patrons for its second full season.
In a freshly released trailer, Noel shares: "New Zealand is a great place to come to it's not the easiest place to set up a business. We're haemorrhaging money at the moment, what Liz and I wish to achieve is community."
The surprise appearance of Mr Blobby in the footage prompts Noel to quip humorously: "You travel halfway round the world and he turns up!", reports the Mirror.
Additionally, viewers are treated to a glimpse of his pub, dubbed 'The Bugger Inn', and a nostalgic Crinkley Bottom mug, harking back to his days as the host of 'Noel's House Party' on BBC.
In March, whispers of the show began to circulate, drawing parallels with Jeremy Clarkson's programme, Clarkson's Farm, which is broadcast on Prime Video. However, Clarkson's Farm is now turning a profit, and it remains to be seen if Noel can ensure his venture is profitable amidst unseasonal bad weather and feelings of being an outsider.
In 2018, Noel appeared on I'm A Celebrity and reportedly pocketed a £600,000 fee, along with the expectation that he could be one of the camp leaders for the duration of the series.
However, in a shocking twist, Noel Edmonds was the first contestant to be voted off the show that year. Instead of pursuing further television opportunities, he relocated to New Zealand shortly afterwards to start afresh.
Noel launched his broadcasting career as a host of Top of the Pops in the early 70s, later presenting the nineties favourite Noel's House Party alongside the much-loved Mr Blobby, and Deal Or No Deal.

Emmerdale actor leaves fans in 'bits' as he breaks down at Soap Awards
Fans watching the British Soap Awards on TV spotted the emotional moment. Emmerdale fans were left emotional whilst watching the British Soap Awards as long-time cast member Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle, broke down in tears during a powerful tribute. The glittering took place at London's Hackney Empire on Saturday (May 31) but aired on TV on Thursday night. On the evening a Memorial section was included in the ceremony to honour late soap icons who are sadly no longer with us. Among the stars who were remembered were Meg Johnson, Kenneth Cope, Anita Carey, and finally Emmerdale legend Steve Halliwell, who played Zak Dingle, writes The Mirror. Steve, who passed away in December 2023 at the age of 77, played the much-loved patriarch of the Dingle family for almost thirty years. The star first appeared in the ITV soap in 1994, and then went on to be featured in more than 2,400 episodes of Emmerdale. His tribute featured a moving montage of his work, which was accompanied by a live piano instrumental. As Halliwell's final clip played, cameras panned to Jeff Hordley, who plays Zak's son in the soap. The actor was visibly emotional and looked as if he was wiping away tears from his eyes, which prompted a heartfelt reaction from fans on social media. One viewer wrote: "Aww, you could see at the end there seeing Steve affected Jeff." Another affected fan added: "Broke me that Steve Halliwell with Jeff Hordley." Steve Halliwell passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, according to a statement released by his family in 2023. They said: "He went to sleep, peacefully with his loved ones around him. He was making us laugh to the end, the most amazing father and grandfather you could ever wish for." ITV also released a touching tribute at the time, saying: "Steve will forever be synonymous with Emmerdale. The proud defender and head of the Dingle family. Heart and humour in all he did, it has been and always will be impossible not to smile when you think of him." Aside from Emmerdale, Halliwell also appeared in popular shows including Coronation Street, Heartbeat, All Creatures Great and Small, and Cracker. However, it was his portrayal of farmer Zak Dingle that he is primarily remembered for. He previously opened up about his family's financial hardships during his childhood, admitting that his mum couldn't even afford to buy him a bacon sandwich. Steve shared: "When I first went on this walk there was a small café in the woods known as Nab's Wife (a corruption of the area originally known as Nab's Wharfe), where you could get a refreshing cup of tea and a Mars bar. You could also get a bacon butty, but we never had enough money for such 'luxuries'. On one occasion I persuaded mum to give Clive and me enough money for a bacon butty each, but when we got to the café it was all boarded up and, sadly, never reopened." He was homeless and even imprisoned for "wandering" under the Vagrancy Act early on in his adult life before he went on to find solace in acting and made a name for himself as the formidable head of the Dingle family. BBC Antiques Roadshow expert booed over joke after Lord Nelson letter valuation
Viewers couldn't help but laugh as an expert made a quirky sheep related joke which fell flat, sparking a chorus of boos from the audience. The Antiques Roadshow audience couldn't help but burst into laughter and then a chrous of boos after expert Mathtew Haley's sheep related joke fell flat. The scene unfolded on the BBC show as Matthew assessed the value of a one-of-a-kind handwritten letter. He began sharing its unusual story in a picturesque countryside setting. He quipped: "So here we are today with some sheep over the moat from us and you've brought us a letter about sheep. Tell us all about it." The letter's owner delved into its history as reported by the Mirror: "So this is a letter that was given to my step-father's great-great-great grandfather who was the farmer in question, given the sheep by Captain Bainton. Captain Bainton was the captain of HMS Leviathan at the Battle of Trafalgar, and Nelson gave him the sheep." They added: "The sheep survived the Battle of Trafalgar, and when Captain Bainton returned to the UK, he gave the sheep and the letter to William Raymond, and this is the letter." Reacting to the tale, the BBC expert said: "Absolutely bizarre. It certainly is the first Nelson that I've come across that talks about sheep. "And here he is, writing from HMS Victory in June 1805, a few months before the Battle of Trafalgar. He's gone to the West Indies and he says 'I don't know how you're doing for stock but all I got in the West Indies was one sheep I can give you. And the sheep went on board and it went to the Battle of Trafalgar.'" The owner of the item elaborated: "Well somehow it survived, came back and William Raymond the farmer who was given the sheep, crossed it with some south Devon sheep and said it had really good progeny, was well known for its beauty and fleece. "So the sheep won a medal. Really, really fantastic," Haley expressed with enthusiasm. "This is what we think of as a Nelson left-handed letter, because he obviously lost his right arm so you see two different handwritings from Nelson." "Very much a left-handed letter, very, very collectible really. The sheep interest can only add to it", he observed. When it came to the valuation, Haley anticipated: "At auction, I would see it making certainly in excess of £5,000." The owner couldn't hide their astonishment at the valuation, exclaiming with a delighted "Wowza's!". Keeping up with the light-hearted atmosphere, the BBC expert delivered a pun, quipping: "Not much of a baa-gain", accompanied by an imitation of a sheep's bleat. Despite the audience's groans at his jest, the guest laughed, retorting: "Low blow." A brief moment of silence followed as the chuckles died down, after which Haley courteously thanked the guest for bringing in the historical letter.

Town treated to free chips with a twist powered by an electric car
In the aptly named Kent town of Deal, National Fish and Chip Day was celebrated with 300 portions of chips given away, as well as a limited run of battered fish. But it wasn't your ordinary chip shop, with the chippy being powered by two electric cars and fronted by TikTok's 'Chip Shop Diva', Destiny Harold. The Dacia Spring, which its makers say is the cheapest electric vehicle currently on the market, was the power behind the frying, in partnership with local chippy, The Blue Mermaid Fish Bar. It comes after a poll of 2,000 adults found fish and chips is the most popular treat on a British holiday, as well as cream tea and hot doughnuts. Others to feature in the top 20 list include Mr Whippy ice cream, Cornish pasties and mussels. Quintessentially British foods, such as fish finger sandwiches, strawberries and cream and a pie and mash also featured in the ranking. A spokesperson for car brand Dacia said: 'It was fun treating passers-by today and showing the power of our electric car, Spring, using its vehicle to load technology, which allows you to power external devices off the car's battery. 'It's no surprise we have a national day dedicated to the iconic meal that is fish and chips and the study shows just how much we love it and associate it with holidays by the seaside. 'Playing on the phrase 'cheap as chips' in line with our affordable car and being in the appropriately named Deal, was a great way to celebrate National Fish and Chip Day.' The research also found 41 per cent of adults describe such foods as nostalgic, while 45 per cent feel satisfied after eating them. When ordering a classic fish and chips, cod (48 per cent) and haddock (19 per cent) were the most popular choices, but 69 per cent simply order a portion of chips. It also emerged 44 per cent believe fish and chips is the 'food of the people' and 39 per cent said class doesn't impact how people eat it. While 46 per cent feel there is something nostalgic about eating the British staple with a wooden fork, which 33 per cent typically do, although 38 per cent opt to eat it by hand. Food psychologist, James Cornish, said: 'There are few things that unite the British public quite like fish and chips. 'Golden, salty, comforting, and steeped in history, this timeless dish is more than a meal - it's a national treasure. 'Loved across generations, social classes, and regions, it's one of those rare things that truly brings us together. 'There's a certain kind of magic in fish and chips - a simple meal that somehow carries the weight of memory, comfort, and delight. 'Maybe it's because we don't expect too much from humble food, but our delight is excelled through the delivering of more than we expected.'
