2025 NFL schedule: Game-by-game predictions for the Bills
We're in the heart of the 2025 NFL offseason and things are moving along slowly.
The start of the upcoming season is a long ways away, but the league has released the entire schedule so we know the journey the Buffalo Bills will take next season.
Let's have a prediction now.
Here is Bills Wire's early game-by-game predictions for the 2025 season:
Week 1: vs. Baltimore Ravens (SNF)
The Ravens are a good team and it feels like they could be due for a win against the Bills in a big AFC clash.
Prediction: Loss (0-1).
Week 2: at New York Jets
It's a new regime leading the Jets and this game will be early days for them.
Prediction: Win (1-1).
Week 3: vs. Miami Dolphins (TNF)
After a season-opening loss, the Bills will be motivated against the Dolphins--who are a team quarterback Josh Allen thrives against.
Prediction: Win (2-1).
Week 4: vs. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have so many question marks... these are games the Bills should win.
Prediction: Win (3-1).
Week 5: vs. New England Patriots (SNF)
While the Patriots are looking for a positive season, it still looks like the Bills are much better on paper and should take this one... and there will be motivation as Stefon Diggs returns to Buffalo.
Prediction: Win (4-1).
Week 6: at Atlanta Falcons (MNF)
Heading into the bye is motivation for the Bills and the Falcons are a young team.
Prediction: Win: (5-1).
Week 7: Bye
Record: (5-1).
Week 8: at Carolina Panthers
It's hard to bet against Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott after the bye. He's 8-0 in such games.
Prediction: Win (6-1).
Week 9: vs. Kansas City Chiefs
It should be another classic between these two...
Prediction: Win (7-1).
Week 10: at Miami Dolphins
While the Bills do dominate the AFC East, it's hard to sweep a division every season... and the Dolphins have to eventually be due against the Bills, right?
Prediction: Loss (7-2).
Week 11: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
A loss in Week 10 will be bad news for the Bucs.
Prediction: Win (8-2).
Week 12: at Houston Texans (TNF)
While there is no more Diggs in Houston, the Bills will remember how poorly they played there in 2024.
Prediction: Win: (9-2).
Week 13: at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers do play the Bills well on occasion (or get blown out), but there are too many question marks for them currently.
Prediction: (10-2).
Week 14: vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are hoping for a massive bounce-back season and this would be a huge game for them... assuming they will improve.
Prediction: Loss (10-3).
Week 15: at New England Patriots
As the postseason approaches, the Bills will still be too much for the Pats.
Prediction: Win (11-3).
Week 16: at Cleveland Browns
The Browns are just all over the place.
Prediction: Win (12-3).
Week 17: vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Super Bowl preview? A fun one could unfold here.
Prediction: Win (13-3).
Week 18: vs. New York Jets
There could be something on the line here... or maybe not. Either way, there's no way the final game at the current Highmark Stadium should be a loss.
Prediction: Win (14-3).

49ers face potentially significant bill for hosting World Cup games
In 2026, Levi's Stadium will have a more active year than usual. It starts with the Super Bowl and continues with the hosting of World Cup games. And the World Cup matches could end up being expensive for the 49ers. Via the San Francisco Chronicle, the revised California budget from Governor Gavin Newsom includes no state funding for the World Cup. The 49ers previously agreed to cover a $37 million deficit for the Bay Area Host Committee, if the committee fails to raise enough money to conduct six matches at the Santa Clara venue. The host committee has been seeking private donations. Both the committee and the 49ers have been lobbying he government for more funding. The event is expected to cost $50 million to stage, with the project losing money. Which leads to an obvious question. Why in the hell did Santa Clara make a proposal to host World Cup games?

Jayden Daniels will love PFF after this
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. One can only wonder what the Chicago Bears are thinking. They were the owners of the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. They could have taken Jayden Daniels. Instead, they went with Caleb Williams. The Washington Commanders, with the very next selection, nabbed the LSU star and 2023 Heisman Trophy winner. The rest, as they say, is history. It's recent history but history nonetheless. Daniels as gotten off to a torrid start. Williams hasn't gotten off to the start he wanted, so again, one has to wonder about what Chicago must be thinking. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders Photo by/Newsweek/Getty Images Now, don't hear what hasn't been said. Don't read what hasn't been written. It's year two for both of these guys, and its too early to make determinations about where their careers are headed. Caleb's getting an offensive genius as his next head coach in the form of newly-hired Ben Johnson, and despite winning the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year trophy, Daniels has to prove he can repeat the success of last season. If Pro Football Focus is right about one of their recent takes, the chances of Jayden's success increase exponentially. More news: NFL Insider Gives Positive Update on Commanders Star's OTA Absence PFF names the Commanders among the most improved offensive lines in the NFL. It doesn't get much better than Jayden Daniels' first season in the NFL. Frankly, the only thing he could have done to enjoy a better campaign is earn an All-Pro nod and beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game to advance to the Super Bowl 59. Every season won't produce the same outcome, but the bar is set pretty high now. Still, as tempting as this might be for some of you, please avoid the temptation to label his coming season as a sophomore jinx if his team doesn't advance deep into the playoffs. That isn't to state that isn't Washington's plan. The Commanders expect to win now. They've added Deebo Samuel. Teamed with Terry McLaurin, they form one of the scariest duos in all of pro football. Just go ask a former rival. Samuel wasn't Washington's only win of the offseason. A trade landed star tackle Laremy Tunsil. The Commanders also drafted Josh Conerly Jr. during the 2025 NFL Draft's first round. That's part of the reason Dan Quinn's offensive line was named by PFF as one of pro football's most improved. Here's some of what Andrew Ites, the writer of this one, mentioned as his reasoning for anointing them. More news: Commanders Pushed to Trade for 4-Time NFL Pro Bowler "Tunsil (managed) to earn an 89.1 PFF pass-blocking grade, marking his fifth season with a PFF pass-blocking grade of 84.9 or better. While (he) did struggle with penalties in 2024, he should bring some much-needed stability to the Commanders' offensive line for at least the next two seasons. Washington is betting that Josh Conerly Jr. can hold up at tackle in the NFL, but he may project better as a guard. Either way, the Commanders are getting a good athlete who earned a 78.1 PFF grade on true pass sets last season. Washington also made a couple of low-cost signings along the offensive line to add some depth as the team looks to make another deep postseason run." Somewhere Jayden Daniels is smiling. They say a quarterback's best friend is a solid run game. The Commanders are banking on big seasons from Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler. McLaurin and Samuel were already mentioned. Individually, they pose threats. As a tandem, they're certain to have opposing defensive coordinators losing sleep before their games vs. Washington. Zach Ertz is a savvy veteran, but everyone knows how this great game works. They are won and lost in the trenches, and Josh Harris's squad appears to have the forces. If the defense continues to gel, this could be another impressive season. If the Commanders' offense gets more of what they got from Jayden Daniels in year one, this could bloom into a powerful offense. More news: Commanders Coach Lays Out Big Expectations for Jayden Daniels There's no reason to invest in any doubts about Washington's QB1. He looks the part, and a clear decision has been made to invest into some guys to keep him vertical.

Broncos Cut Ties With Former Raiders TE After Failed Physical
Broncos Cut Ties With Former Raiders TE After Failed Physical originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Las Vegas Raiders have had little success over the last several years, but they have still had an influx of offensive talent in recent seasons. Specifically, the tight end position has been bolstered with the additions of 2023 second-round pick Michael Mayer and 2024 first-rounder Brock Bowers. Advertisement While Mayer has been merely solid through two NFL campaigns, Bowers broke multiple records during his first year. He earned Pro Bowl honors and landed on the All-Pro First-Team during his rookie year. As a result of these two talented young players entering the fold, the team parted ways with tight end Cole Fotheringham at the end of last season. Former Las Vegas Raiders TE Cole Fotheringham (85).Lucas Peltier-Imagn Images In early May, Fotheringham landed on his feet as he signed with the Raiders' bitter AFC West rival, the Denver Broncos. There, he was set to compete for tight end reps with Evan Engram and Adam Trautman under head coach Sean Payton. However, on Tuesday, the Broncos signed undrafted free agent tight end Cade Prieskorn, who played college football at Memphis and Ole Miss. In a corresponding move, the team announced that they had released Fotheringham with an injury designation. Advertisement Fotheringham was originally added to the Raiders' roster ahead of the 2022 NFL season, but he had a hard time finding his way onto the field. He only played in two games for the Silver and Black, and caught just one pass for six yards. Now, he will look to find new life with another NFL franchise. Because head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek were not in charge when Fotheringham was released by the Raiders, perhaps a reunion could be in the cards, but earning playing time will still be a tall task in Las Vegas.
