Harry Kane greets Lewis Hamilton as England players take in Spanish Grand Prix

Captain Harry Kane, who led a large contingent of players at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya, greeted Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton before the race and offered his support for McLaren's Lando Norris.
Kane was asked by former world champion Nico Rosberg if he had any advice for Norris, who is embroiled in a title battle with McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri.

'For him it's all about preparation. I am sure he is prepared to the best of his ability and then it's going out there and being free. He knows he can do it, he's won enough already so hopefully he can go all the way,' Kane told Sky Sports.
'I watch the F1 as much as I can and obviously a few English guys doing well this season, so I'm looking forward to seeing them.'
Kane briefly caught up with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and George Russell of Mercedes before the ninth race of the 2025 season started at 2pm.
England boss Tuchel was also at the track ahead of Saturday's World Cup qualifier with Andorra in Barcelona.

Dan Burn was one of several England players shown around McLaren's garage, whilst Chelsea quartet Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer were in attendance after Wednesday's Europa Conference League success.
Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly and Bukayo Saka were also present.
John Stones joined the squad too after it was announced earlier on Sunday that he would continue his rehabilitation from injury with the England squad in Spain.
Stones has been sidelined since February with a thigh injury and is not fit enough to feature in this month's fixtures with Andorra and Senegal.
However, the Manchester City defender has decided to link up with the national team for the first time since Tuchel took over, having last played for England in October and only managed 20 club appearances during another injury-ravaged 2024-25 campaign.

Newcastle defender Burn has benefitted from the absence of Stones and made his long-awaited senior debut at the age of 33 against Albania in March.
He is eager to catch the eye again in Saturday's Group K fixture with Andorra, which will take place at Espanyol's RCDE Stadium.
Burn added: 'I'm hot, actually very hot but I'm excited though. First time I've been at the Formula One.'
Asked about upcoming opponents Andorra, Burn insisted: 'I don't know about formality, they're all tough games but excited for another camp and another World Cup qualifier.'

Jim Goodwin eyes fresh Liverpool transfer raid as Dundee United boss tells Luca Stephenson he'd love him back

The versatile midfielder had a successful loan at Tannadice but he's not the only top talent at the Reds who has caught the eye Jim Goodwin wants to bring Luca Stephenson back to Dundee United and also tap further into the Liverpool development ranks. The versatile midfielder had a successful loan at Tannadice and helped the Terrors to clinch a Europa Conference League spot. ‌ United are to open talks about trying to sign Stephenson on a permanent basis but Goodwin has admitted some other Reds have also caught his eye. ‌ Goodwin said: 'I'd love to bring Luca back, but he's under contract at Liverpool, so we'll just need to wait and see what happens with that. 'I speak to their loans manager, Matt Newberry, who I've got a good relationship with. "(Leighton) Clarkson went to Aberdeen, obviously, a couple of years ago. "He was really good to deal with again with regards to bringing Luca up. 'They've got a fantastic academy down there, as you'd imagine, so we'll try and tap into that again in the summer. 'I've already identified a couple of really good ones, but it's just whether we can get them to Scotland or not. ‌ 'It's a relationship that we'll continue to try and work on. They're a great club to deal with.' Goodwin has already made his personal pitch to Stephenson. ‌ He said: 'I had a really good conversation in depth with Luca prior to him leaving. 'He was outstanding for us and deservedly won our Young Player of the Year award. 'We missed him towards the end of the season when he was unavailable. ‌ 'We missed his energy in the middle of the pitch, his ability to break things up and his desire to get forward. 'I thought it was glaringly obvious that we missed his presence in the middle of the park in some of the games.' Goodwin knows Stephenson's loan will aid their cause at Liverpool. ‌ The United boss added: 'Luca's going back down the road speaking positively about his time at Dundee United. 'I think that's the most important thing when these loans come up. 'When they go back down to England, they're talking about the Scottish game and about how they got treated at Dundee United in a positive manner. 'That can only stand us in good stead for the summer, when we have to go and try and do something similar.'

Crystal Palace to meet UEFA officials on Tuesday over multi-club ownership rules

Palace qualified for the Europa League after they stunned Manchester City at Wembley to clinch FA Cup final success on May 17 and in the process secured the first major trophy in the club's history. It booked Palace and their fans a ticket on a European tour, but the Premier League outfit must show UEFA's club financial control body (CFCB) on Tuesday that they do not fall foul of its multi-club ownership rules. 😏 — Crystal Palace F.C. (@CPFC) May 19, 2025 John Textor holds a 43 per cent stake in Palace through his company Eagle Football and he is also the owner of French club Lyon, who qualified for the Europa League with a sixth-placed finish in Ligue 1. No individual is allowed to have a significant say in the running of two clubs competing in the same UEFA competition and the CFCB would have to make a ruling on any potential breach. PA understands Palace are confident no rules have been breached owing to the fact that Textor – through Eagle Football – has only a 25 per cent share of voting rights alongside fellow principal owners Josh Harris, David Blitzer and chairman Steve Parish. Parish is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, which has led to past tension with Textor, who had previously tried to sell his shares and take over Everton. Given Palace believe they have no influence over Lyon and Eagle Football does not have decision-making powers at the Premier League outfit because of the voting structure, the club managed by Oliver Glasner are hopeful of being able to compete in Europe. If Palace fail to convince the CFCB that no rules have been breached, Lyon would keep their Europa League spot due to a higher league finish. Meanwhile, Brondby, who Blitzer owns, qualified for the Europa Conference League. A post shared by UEFA Europa League (@europaleague) Palace's failure to compete in the Europa League would see their spot transferred to seventh-placed Nottingham Forest. It would mean Forest's previous Europa Conference League qualification berth would go to the next highest team in the Premier League, which is Brighton in eighth. A UEFA spokesperson said: 'Please be informed that decisions regarding multi-club ownership cases for the 2025-26 season will be announced in due course during June. We do not comment on individual club cases until an official decision has been made.' Last summer, the CFCB cleared Manchester City and Girona, owned by the City Football Group, to take part in the Champions League and INEOS-owned Manchester United and Nice to compete in the Europa League.

Lamine Yamal disagrees with Trent Alexander-Arnold after Jamie Carragher blast

Lamine Yamal's words will be music to the ears of Barcelona and Spain supporters - and they are in contrast to those of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the past concerning the Ballon d'Or Barcelona and Spain superstar Lamine Yamal is not yet concerning himself with the prospect of winning the Ballon d'Or as he attempts to lead his national team to more success. The teenager is in Germany for the semi-finals of the Nations League as Spain look to add another title to the Euro 2024 victory they record last year. Luis de la Fuente will have to lead his team past France, and a contender for the label of best player in the world in Ousmane Dembele, before potentially facing off against Germany or Portugal in the final. And the Spanish boss will be pleased his young starlet's aspirations are centred on team trophies rather than individual accolades. ‌ The 17-year-old racked up 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 appearances as Barcelona won La Liga and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. And Yamal is already thinking about winning the latter competition and the World Cup next year. ‌ "I don't think about the Ballon d'Or; I think you'll end up badly if you only think about that," he said. "I think about winning. "Imagine if I win the World Cup and the UCL next year, then the Ballon d'Or will come by itself. But the most important thing is to enjoy football." Asked about a potential battle between himself and Paris Saint-Germain ace Dembele, Yamal refused to add too much fuel to the hype behind their meeting. "I am confident that we [Spain] will win on Thursday, but whether we win or not, I would still vote for the best player in the world,' Yamal told COPE. "If Thursday doesn't go the way I want or Dembele wants, then what? You're voting for someone else who plays on Sunday? "I'm the kind of person who votes for the best player over the whole year. But if people want to risk it all on one game, well… we can play that game then." ‌ Yamal's approach to the Ballon d'Or is somewhat in contrast to that of a new La Liga rival. Trent Alexander-Arnold joined Barcelona rivals Real Madrid at the start of the window, and has previously suggested he'd like to win the accolade over earning Champions League glory. It is a moment that irked some Liverpool supporters and club legend Jamie Carragher. The former defender said on Sky Sports: "Trent was asked whether he'd want to win the Champions League or the Ballon D'or and he said Ballon D'Or – even if he thinks that, it's not the right answer for a local player at Liverpool. "The club has to come first. That showed Liverpool supporters he's not a player who thinks about the club more than himself. He's a brand. He's an amazing footballer and that's why Real Madrid want him."
