Reward offered for Pennsylvania homicide suspect after driver shot, killed
(WTAJ) — The United States Marshals are offering a reward for a homicide suspect in Pennsylvania, who also has connections to Bronx, New York.
Malachi Allah Darden a.k.a. 'MDOTT', 20, is wanted by U.S. Marshals for a homicide that happened May 14 in Scranton. According to the Marshals, Scranton police responded to a vehicle crash on Jackson Street. It was then discovered that the driver of the vehicle had been shot and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Through investigation, police charged Darden with criminal homicide three days later.
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information leading to Darden's arrest.
Darden is described as being 5 feet 11 inches and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Pennsylvania, Virginia finalize concealed carry agreement between states
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A reciprocity agreement between Pennsylvania and Virginia for concealed carry permits has been finalized. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, along with Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, announced on June 11 that holders of licenses to carry firearms can carry a concealed firearm in both states. 'Shortly after taking office, I asked my staff to review opportunities to maximize reciprocity agreements with willing states and ensure all existing and future agreements protect and respect standing law and constitutional rights,' Attorney General Sunday said. 'Our research of law in both states revealed nothing conflicting that would disallow permit holders to carry in both states.' According to the office of Attorney General, legal staff in Pennsylvania reached out to Virginia State Police officials in April 2025 to discuss renewal. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) allows firearm license holders from Pennsylvania to carry a firearm concealed on their person or in a vehicle in Virginia, and license holders in Virginia to do the same. This MOU is only applicable to handguns and has requirements for the permit holders. They must be at least 21 years of age, carry photo identification, display their concealed carry permit when asked by law enforcement, and have not previously had their concealed carry permit revoked. Township embezzlement case heads to trial after former secretary's plea deal canceled
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The embezzlement case for the former secretary of Gregg Township will head to trial after her guilty plea was canceled. Former Secretary Pamela Hackenburg was scheduled to enter a guilty plea Tuesday, June 10, however, it was canceled and she now has a pre-trial conference set for July 14, court documents show. Hackenburg was accused in Dec. 2024, of embezzling more than $532,000 from the township, which included a large sum of money that was to remain untouched for road projects. The original complaint showed that she would use township credit cards to gamble online, then use township funds to pay the credit cards said that Hackenburg had access to the township's financial accounts since she began with them in 2019. $4k worth of equipment stolen in Clearfield County garage burglary
HUSTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ) — State police in DuBois are investigating a burglary in Clearfield County where thousands of dollars in tools and construction equipment were stolen from a residential garage. Troopers responded June 7 to a report of a break-in at a property along the 9700 block of Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township. According to investigators, the victim, a 45-year-old woman from Penfield, reported the theft likely occurred sometime between May 1 and June 7. Among the stolen items are a 2024 Cub Cadet zero-turn lawn mower with a 60-inch deck, four Stihl power saws, a Stihl weed eater, a Grizzly wood planer, and custom-cut oak floorboards. Other reported items include a yellow and blue roof scaffolding set, a 2024 yellow gas generator (brand unknown), a large dark-colored toolbox filled with miscellaneous tools (brand unknown), a torpedo heater (brand unknown), and a roofing shovel. Police said there was no sign of forced entry into the garage. The estimated total value of the stolen items exceeds $4,000.
