If my late-night Google search history, saved Instagram ads, and suspiciously targeted TikToks are any indication, I'm about three leafy greens away from diving headfirst into the Gardyn game. And what better time is there than Memorial Day weekend when the brand is offering 20% off (just use the code HUNGRY at checkout)?
Gardyn, in case you've also been living in denial, is the futuristic indoor garden that lets you grow up to 30 plants — without dirt, sunlight, or even knowing what the hell you're doing. It's a vertical hydroponic system that plugs into your kitchen, living room, or wildly aspirational Pinterest mood board, and then…grows food. Real food. Like lettuce, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and herbs you can't pronounce but would love to sprinkle on a roasted chicken that you might even cook.
Gardyn
The Gardyn Home Studio is the compact, space-saving sibling of the original Gardyn Home system — perfect for apartment dwellers, kitchen minimalists, or anyone who wants to dip their toe into indoor gardening without committing to a full vertical farm. It supports up to 20 plants and features the same high-tech hydroponic setup, including automated watering, full-spectrum LED lights, and AI-powered plant monitoring via the Gardyn app.
With its slim design and sleek aesthetic, the Studio fits seamlessly into small spaces while still letting you grow fresh herbs, greens, and veggies year-round. It's basically your entry ticket to becoming a countertop farmer with zero dirt under your nails.

The whole thing runs on AI, has an app that essentially babysits your plants, and looks like something a minimalist chef-turned-influencer would have in their $6,000/month studio apartment. The best part? Gardyn's Memorial Day Sale is running through May 27, and they're offering 20% off all devices with the code HUNGRY.
Gardyn
The Gardyn Home is a sleek, smart indoor gardening system that lets you grow up to 30 plants vertically — no soil, sun, or green thumb required. Designed for modern living spaces, it uses hydroponic technology, built-in LED lights, and AI-powered sensors to create the ideal growing environment for herbs, leafy greens, vegetables, fruits, and even flowers.
Controlled by the Gardyn app, it automates watering, lighting, and plant care while offering real-time updates and tips through its integrated cameras. Whether you're short on space or just over store-bought basil, the Gardyn Home turns any corner of your kitchen or living room into a self-sustaining edible jungle.
If you've ever wanted to grow your own food but didn't feel like digging a hole or learning what 'compost tea' is, this might be your summer of becoming that guy — the one casually snipping arugula while passive-aggressively saying, 'Oh, this? I grew it.'

Samsung Confirms User Account Deletion—Now Just 6 Weeks Away

Account deletion warning for Samsung users. Future Publishing via Getty Images You may have seen warnings this week for Samsung users (1,2), as the Galaxy-maker prepares to delete user accounts. This mirrors Google and others who do the same for security reasons. So what accounts are affected, and how do you protect your own? First the good news. This only applies to inactive accounts. Samsung says this means accounts that have not been used for 24 months, and where that is the case, those accounts will be deleted from July 31. You may have multiple accounts — or perhaps you are not currently using a Samsung device. Either way, you need to act now. As SamMobile explained when this change first became clear, 'if you've used multiple Samsung accounts on different devices and haven't signed into one of them for a while, you may want to do so… Samsung says that this is being done in the interest of ensuring that the data of users who haven't used their accounts for two years remain protected.' If you do have any of these 'inactive' accounts, you should have received an email from Samsung. But if the email address associated with the account is also inactive, then you won't receive any warning at all. 'When an account is deleted,' warns SamMobile, 'access will be restricted and all of the data linked to that account will be deleted.' Samsung says to protect these accounts, 'log into or use a Samsung service or product while logged into the account so that it's no longer considered inactive.' Failing to do that, the company says, means 'accounts and data once deleted can't be restored.' Most Galaxy users are now more focused on the current One UI 8 narrative, likely asking how long they'll await for Android 16 with its new security and privacy updates. This is now live on Pixels and still in restricted beta on Samsung, with all hoping for a more seamless experience than was seen with One UI 7.

First look at the biggest Google Photos editor update in years (APK teardown)

TL;DR Google Photos is getting a completely revamped editor, with reorganized sections that make the editing flow much more intuitive. Google previously gave us a glimpse of the new design, but we've managed to dive deeper and unlock the new UI and all the functional changes. The new tool search option is perhaps one of the best new features of the new Google Photos editor. A big update is coming to Google Photos, and it's more than just a fresh coat of paint. Google is set to roll out one of the biggest redesigns the app's built-in editor has seen in years, complete with Material 3 Expressive stylings and a bunch of functional upgrades. We first caught a glimpse of the revamped editor when Google Photos celebrated its 10th anniversary, but we've now managed to dive deeper and unlock the new UI in version 7.34.0.772224975 of the Google Photos app to show you exactly what's coming, including changes that Google hasn't shown off yet. An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release. Right off the bat, you'll notice that the Material 3 Expressive design elements are everywhere in the revamped Google Photos app. From the soft, rounded corners in the crop tool to the updated shapes for the walkthrough, tiles, and buttons, the whole interface feels more modern, friendly, and in line with Google's new design language. New editing tools layout Once you open the updated Google Photos editor, you'll notice that Google has reorganized all the existing tools into a row of new sections, which now include: Auto Actions Markup Filters Lighting Color To be clear, Google hasn't removed any tools. They've just been restructured and redistributed in the new sections. For example, the Crop tool, along with expanded cropping options, is now found under 'Actions.' Meanwhile, Tone and Color adjustments have been pulled out of the old 'Adjust' section and are now given more prominence as standalone sections at the bottom of the editor. The 'Filters' section is also getting some love. A new 'Sky styles' option lets you choose from dramatic skyline effects like Luminous, Radiant, Vivid, Ember, and more. Google has also made a minor visual tweak to the filter selection tray, making it more intuitive to adjust filter strength. The new 'Auto' section is also a welcome update. While Google had previously previewed this feature, we now have more details on how it works. When you tap Auto, you'll get three enhancement options: Enhance Dynamic AI Enhance This section is also where you'll now find tools like Portrait Blur, Erase, Move, and Reimagine. Previously, these features were tucked away in the Suggestions tab or were only accessible through the Magic Editor. Consolidating them into the 'Auto' section not only makes them easier to find but also makes the editing flow less confusing. The best new Google Photos feature! AssembleDebug / Android Authority Hands down, one of the most helpful new features of the Google Photos editor is the search button. If you're unsure where a specific editing tool is located, type its name, and the search will take you right to it without digging through menus. Given that Google is constantly adding more editing tools to the mix, a search option in Google Photos is the best thing that could have happened to the app. Overall, this Google Photos editor redesign is shaping up to be quite impressive. Google had previously said that the new and improved editor would roll out for Android users sometime in June, so you won't have to wait long to try it out. Got a tip? Talk to us! Google Chrome Warning—Do Not Ignore 7 Day Update Deadline

New Chrome warning for 2 billion users. New warnings have been issued for Chrome's 3 billion users, emphasizing the need to keep browsers updated at all times. Google has just issued a new update, which fixes two high-severity vulnerabilities and should be installed right away. More critically, an ongoing update mandate deadline in now just 7 days away. America's cyber defense agency warns Chrome 'contains an out-of-bounds read and write vulnerability that could allow a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page.' CISA says update before June 26 or stop using Chrome. The formal mandate applies just to federal employees, but CISA operates 'for the benefit of the cybersecurity community and network defenders — and to help every organization better manage vulnerabilities and keep pace with threat activity.' That means all organizations should take note of this deadline and adhere if possible. That should be evident anyway, but a new warning has just detailed exploitation of a Google Chrome zero-day disclosed earlier this year. Kaspersky discovered 'a wave of infections by previously unknown and highly sophisticated malware. In all cases, infection occurred immediately after the victim clicked on a link in a phishing email, and the attackers' website was opened using the Google Chrome web browser.' Now, Positive Technologies says its Threat Intelligence Department 'analyzed an attack that exploited [this] zero-day vulnerability (sandbox escape)' dating back to 2024. As I warned when CVE-2025-2783 was first disclosed, Google quickly released an emergency update and then CISA issued a 21-day update mandate. The current CISA update mandate is for CVE-2025-5419, which is also an 'out-of-bounds read and write in V8,' a similar memory issue to the integer overflow and use after free vulnerabilities patched this week, albeit those do not have known exploits as yet. We're two weeks into CISA's mandate, and so this is the period of maximum risk. Ensure your browsers are updated — which means restarting when it downloads. While home users should adhere to CISA warnings, it's more critical for enterprises likely to come under attack from sophisticated phishing campaigns exploiting these vulnerabilities. Remember, once the flaw is made public, it's a race against time for attackers to use it or lose it when browsers are patched. Do that right away.
