Watch: Keke Palmer performs on 'Kimmel,' releases 'Just Keke' album
June 20 (UPI) -- Keke Palmer is back with new music.
The singer, 31, performed a medley of songs including "125 Degrees" and "Off Script" on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday.
Both tracks are included on her album Just Keke, released Friday.
Palmer appeared on stage in a gold trench coat near an apparent street lamp. As the song continued, she removed the coat to show her red dress with red beading.
Just Keke also includes "Act 1," "What Would Sharon Say?," "Anonymous," "A Kiki and the Bee," "My Confession," "Exposed," "Act 2," "Tea, Boo," "Amnesia," "Same [Expletive] Different Toilet," "I Wanna Know," "Ripples," "Act 3," "Unless It's You," "Misunderstood" and "The End."
She released her album Big Boss in 2023.

Leguizamo's Esposito seeks redemption by catching an arsonist in 'Smoke'

Photo courtesy of Apple TV+ NEW YORK, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge! and Ice Age Icon John Leguizamo says the disgraced detective he plays in Smoke is seeking redemption by trying to bring down the former partner who cost him his career. Created by best-selling novelist Dennis Lehane, the show follows a law-enforcement task force, including Leguizamo's Esposito, who are determined to catch Dave (Taron Egerton), an arson investigator and prolific fire-setter. "He got too close to the truth. He knew who the arsonist was and that's when they destroyed his career, made him the fall guy, and he hit rock bottom," Leguizamo, 65, told UPI about his character in a recent Zoom interview. "He drinks a lot and takes a lot of pills and he becomes a porn director," the actor said. "But then he gets a chance to get back on the [police] force because he knows the truth. But he has to keep constantly proving himself and I think that's the exciting part of being in that character. I have to fluctuate. I have to fight with all these different forces against me and no one will believe me." "She tries to help me get back the reins," Leguizamo laughed. "Poor woman. She's exhausted because of me." To prepare for the role, Chlumsky looked at what a woman in her position would have had to accomplish to get to where she is in a predominantly male field. "There's this sense of having to prove yourself over and over, even if you've gotten to the point where you're leading a task force," she said. "That never goes away. It's part of your conditioning. It's part of your workplace code switch and that's really where I was jumping in from. I was jumping in from how trusted she felt at work, how much she trusts herself and, ultimately, not wanting to let any of those insecurities get into her ability to do the job well." Leguizamo pointed out that this is a theme for many of the characters in Smoke. "Jurnee [Smollett] has to try to prove herself," he said, to which Chlumsky replied, "Also, to whom are you proving something, right?" Leguizamo said he was happy to provide the comic relief in a show that digs into some really serious topics, including crime, corruption, mental illness, suicide and violence against women. "What I love about this series is that it has teeth," Leguizamo said. "It's not easy. It's not just light-hearted," he added. "I love that it's really dark, complex characters, people with a lot of demons and, then, we get a chance, Anna and I, to bring a little humor and a little repartee that lightens it up a little bit, but they are still messed-up characters. We're still broken human beings and I love playing those kind of characters that are really vulnerable and, yet, they fight for the truth." Chlumsky emphasized that the show is first and foremost intended to be entertaining. "Even when he's going to the darkest questions and exploring the shame of his characters or the parts of this characters that they don't even want to look at, you can tell that [Lehane] is remaining playful," Chlumsky said. "He's having a great time and that's, I think, what energizes the whole thing." The series wrapped up on Apple TV+ Friday. Greg Kinnear and Rafe Spall co-star.

Starring Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy and Judd Nelson, the coming of age dramedy from writer-director John Hughes will be back in cinemas nationwide on Sept. 7 and 10. "Over the course of one day, Claire the princess (Molly Ringwald), Andrew the athlete (Emilio Estevez), Brian the brain (Anthony Michael Hall), Allison the basket case (Ally Sheedy) and John the criminal (Judd Nelson) break through their social barriers and reveal the private struggles beneath their public identities," a synopsis from Universal Pictures said. "Under the wary eye of Vice Principal Vernon (Paul Gleason) -- and the side-eye observations of custodian Carl (John Kapelos) -- they begin as strangers and leave with a deeper understanding of themselves and each other."

Soap opera legend mourns the death of Tristan Rogers
Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Dozens of stars from the soap opera world are mourning on social media after the death of daytime TV legend Tristan Rogers. Rogers played dashing spy Robert Scorpio on General Hospital for half a century. He died Friday of cancer at the age of 79. "The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers' passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio)," the show's executive producer Frank Valenti said in a Facebook statement Friday. "I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace." Emma Samms said on X: "I'm incredibly sad to hear the news about Tristan. I loved working with him and we were both so grateful that we got the chance to do that for more than 40 years. "He taught me to be comfortable in front of the cameras and he introduced me to spontaneity and fun even within all the trials and tribulations Robert and Holly endured." Kimberly McCullough posted a photo of her with Rogers, who played the father to her character Robin, when she was a little girl. "Trissy forever," she simply captioned it. John J. York, who played Robert's brother Mac, wrote on X alongside a photo of them together: " will all see you again." Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis, wrote on Facebook: "Tristan and I had recurring characters on Babylon 5 yrs ago. He told me that standing next to me was the only time he wished he was shorter so that he didn't have to hover over my ginormous head. "When the director asked him to look me in the eyes, he said "I'd love to but that head is too distracting." Suave, wry, smooth, debonair and ridiculously handsome. This GH Aussie Icon left his mark and will be well remembered."
