The American denies conspiracy to murder, the possession of a firearm with intent and the illegal importation of ammunition, Birmingham Crown Court was told.
Betro allegedly flew in from Wisconsin in the United States as part of the plot, the court heard.
She is accused of conspiring with Mohammed Nazir, 31, and his father Mohammed Aslam, 56, to murder Aslat and members of his family between August 21 and September 10 2019.
Tom Walkling KC, for the prosecution, said the botched assassination attempt was the culmination of a long-running 'vendetta' involving the family of Aslat.

The prosecution claimed that Betro, having bought a Mercedes earlier that day, lay in wait in the vehicle outside Aslat's family home in Measham Grove, Birmingham.
Birmingham Crown Court was shown CCTV footage of an incident in South Yardley in September 2019.
Sikander Ali, Aslat's son, was caught on camera arriving home in his black SUV.
The video then shows a person wearing a face covering, who the prosecution said was Betro, pulling out a firearm and approaching Ali before the gun jammed at point-blank range.

Ali then quickly reversed his SUV off the road, clipping the door of the Mercedes and damaging it so it would not close.
After the botched assassination attempt, Betro allegedly returned to the property in a taxi and fired three times at the house, smashing several windows.
Mr Walkling added: "On the seventh of September 2019 in a suburban cul de sac in South Yardley a would-be assassin tried to shoot a man called Sikander Ali at close range outside his house.
"The assassin was a woman who tried to disguise her appearance by wearing a niqab - a face covering - and what looked like a burka."

The firearms offence is alleged to have been committed on September 8 2019, while the ammunition smuggling charge relates to a period between September 12 and October 23, 2019.
She later dumped the Mercedes and police found a black glove with Betro's DNA inside, the court heard.
"Further proof if any was needed ... that she was the gunwoman in the burka," Mr Walkling claimed.
Six minutes later she was again caught on CCTV shown to the jury from close to where the car was dumped wearing a summer dress, hoodie and flip flops and carrying two bags.
Mr Walkling added that 'revenge was the motive' after Nazir and Aslam were injured during a disorder at Aslat's clothing boutique in Birmingham in July 2018, which led them to conspire to have someone kill him or a member of his family.
Betro was extradited from Armenia and arrested at Gatwick Airport earlier this year by National
Crime
Agency officers
, the jury was told.
Betro's two co-conspirators, Mohammed Nazir and his father, Mohammed Aslam both from Derby, were convicted and jailed last year.
Both were convicted of conspiracy to murder while Nazir was also convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Betro, appeared in the dock on Monday wearing black glasses, a maroon top and a colourful beach shirt with bright pink Converse trainers.
The American, whose hair was styled in two "pace buns" on top of her head, denies all charges against her.
Betro is also accused of sending a text to Ali's father which said: 'Where are you hiding? … Stop playing hide and seek' and 'Come and meet me, I'm at Asda,' the court was told.
Mr Walkling said: 'This case is about three incidents. An attempted shooting of a man outside his home, the shooting of bullets through the windows of that home, and the posting of illegal bullets from the USA to the UK."
Mr Walkling said Betro was in contact with Nazir before she flew to Manchester Airport in August 2019.
He said Betro had two phones - a normal "day to day" phone which she used regularly - and a "dirty phone" - bought before the shooting.
Jurors were told that on August Betro also went to Birmingham and hired a Mercedes C Class car from Enterprise at Birmingham Airport.
The car was later involved in a three car collision in Derby with Mohammed Nazir and another woman.
Both later received insurance payouts, the court heard.
She then stayed at a hotel in Derby for two nights before travelling to London and Brighton before returning to Birmingham and then back to Derby.
The court was played a video clip - from Nazir's phone - showing a gun being fired into the ground three days before the attempted shooting in Birmingham which prosecutors said was a bid to "test" the weapon.
The trial is expected to last four weeks.

Julia Molony: Why the Macrons' lawsuit against the far-right activist who calls Brigitte a man may backfire
Still, the cross-border legal clash between the far-right YouTuber Candace Owens and Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron definitely wasn't on my bingo card for 2025. And yet here we are. As a professional internet edge-lord, Owens is no stranger to a little litigation. 'The life of Candace Owens, it works like this,' she said on her podcast last week. 'I wake up, stretch, I have a cup of coffee, and then I am served with a lawsuit.' It must have been a surprise, nonetheless, on Wednesday, to see the lawsuit of the day bore the signature of Monsieur and Madame Le President de la Republique. The Macrons say they are seeking justice against the American commentator and conspiracy theorist. Owens is host of an eight-part documentary series, titled Becoming Brigitte and based on a French book of the same name, in which she claims, among other things, that Brigitte Macron was born male and is guilty of statutory rape of Macron while he was still a student at the school where she taught. These, say the Macrons, are 'verifiably false and devastating lies'. Owens' interest in the couple represents a sustained 'campaign of global humiliation'. She has repeatedly ignored requests to correct the record, they say, and so, in a fit of piqued Gallic pride, they have launched a legal battle. Should they have though? They have requested a jury trial, and even gone so far as to pledge to make an appearance in person in the court in Delaware, where the suit was filed. According to the standards of now-unfashionable concepts such as fairness and truth, they arguably have a case. That said, after the recent slapgate controversy in Vietnam, Brigitte and Emmanuel are not immune to accusations of peddling false narratives themselves. US courts grant broad discretion to individuals to comment on public officials But it is unusual, unprecedented, even — this cross-border case between a sitting head of state and their internet troll. It is folly, was the unspoken subtext behind comments given by legal expert Jane Kirtley. 'I think President Macron is going to have a really difficult time with this libel suit,' said the professor of media ethics and law at the University of Minnesota. 'And the reason for that is really simple. "Under US law, public officials are required to prove actual malice, knowledge of falsity and reckless disregard for the truth. In [Macron's] lengthy complaint, he has certainly alleged that on the part of this podcaster, but I think he's also probably not giving enough deference to the fact that courts in the United States grant broad discretion to individuals to comment on public officials.' It raises the question, do the Macrons understand what they are getting themselves into? Owens called it a 'disaster PR strategy' for the Macrons Even their legal submission, running to 218 pages, itemising in exhaustive detail their complaints and responding, point-by-point to the accusations, betrays a yawning cultural gap that will probably work against them. It exposes, too, the infinitely unshakable French faith in form-filling and paperwork. Owens, meanwhile, seems to be relishing all the attention. Dining out on the new international profile the case has brought her, she called it a 'disaster PR strategy' for the Macrons. For her, though, she said it represented an 'irresistible and delicious' opportunity to face France's 'First Lady Man' in the flesh. 'On behalf of the whole world, I will see you in court,' she declared, with gladiatorial flourish, addressing an online auditorium billions strong. It is tempting to suspect the Macrons simply couldn't resist this opportunity to seize the moral high ground. A battle to defend their reputation and their rights was too tantalising, even if participation in a trial risks tarnishing the dignified, statesmen-like image that centrist European leaders, Macron chief among them, are trying to reinforce as a silent rebuke to the vulgarities of populism. In their case against Owens, the Macrons seem to imagine themselves as standard bearers for European values Not least because it serves as a proxy for a broader, epoch-defining ideological clash between European liberalism and the anti-enlightenment neo-conservatism of Trump's America. Macron himself regularly postures as the poster-boy for the former on the international stage. He draws on a long tradition of French universalism, and a national self-image cherished in France, as the birthplace of modern liberal democracy. The country that authored the Declaration of the Rights of Man helped shape, in no small part, contemporary notions of civic rights and individual liberty in America. How affronting, then, for Macron to discover his personal dignity skewered and mounted on the implacable spike of the First Amendment. Thinking of Macron and his wife rocking up to court in the US, I am reminded of the speech by Francois Hollande at the 67th United Nations General Assembly: 'France wants to set an example, not to teach others a lesson but because it's our history, our message. Setting an example in promoting fundamental freedoms is our battle and a matter of honour for us.' In their case against Owens, the Macrons seem to imagine themselves as standard bearers for European values, hoping to jog memories in Delaware, America's first state, of a shared philosophical history. It's a nice idea, but I fear their mission is doomed.

Huge Traveller fleet has set up camp outside our homes…they leave rubbish everywhere & want to buy my dog for £250
A HUGE traveller fleet has set up camp outside taxpayers' homes, leaving "stinking" piles of rubbish scattered around a much-loved park, locals claim. Dozens of caravans and other vehicles arrived at Swanshurst Park on the border of Moseley, Birmingham, last Sunday (July 20). People say they're annoyed the council regularly clears away the group's rubbish with the city in the midst of a months-long bin collection strike. One resident claims a traveller keeps trying to buy his designer French bulldog for £250. The Friends of Swanshurst Park Facebook group says the travellers gained access by moving a large log and driving in past bike racks. Advertisement READ MORE NEWS Mum-of-two Rabai Tahir, who lives opposite the park, moved to the UK from Dubai with her husband five years ago and is 'astonished' travellers are allowed to keep coming back. Rabai Tahir Local resident and mum-of-two 'They leave lots of rubbish bags and some of it stinks,' she told The Sun. 'It's cleaned up by my council tax money. "I don't allow my kids to go over to the play park when they're there. We don't know who they are. 'It's shocking for me and my husband that people can stay here for weeks. It's a community park.' Advertisement Most read in The Sun Sandra Cotterill has lived opposite the park for 19 years. She said: 'I've had no trouble with them, they never bother me. Some people don't want to take their kids and dogs there." However, she is annoyed that the local authority makes such an effort to clear the group's rubbish when thousands in the city have seen their own rubbish pile up for months. Inside Birmingham's bin wars as strikes see streets overrun with RATS and piles of rotting food and rubbish are left to fester Sandra said: 'They bag up all the rubbish and the council cleans it all away. "We're paying our taxes, and we can't get our bin bags picked up, but they get theirs taken.' Advertisement Birmingham has been hit by long-running bin strikes. Piles of rubbish have been seen in parts of the city since bin collection workers walked out in January. Sandra's neighbour, who has lived in the area for 40 years and walks her dogs in the park, said residents are getting fed up with different traveller groups constantly coming and going. The woman, who did not want to be named, said: 'They clear them off and a week later another different group comes here. "I keep away from them, they take over the park really. We're all just fed up. Advertisement 'Travellers move the logs. We need a permanent solution to stop them coming onto the park. "The amount of money the council must spend tidying up is ridiculous.' Another man who, who says he's been offered money for his pet, added: 'They're all right, they're not bad people and I've got Irish in my family. 2025 Birmingham bin strike The Birmingham bin strike is an ongoing stand off between refuse workers and Birmingham City Council over pay and the removal of roles. It started in January 2025 and full scale industrial action was then taken from March 11, involving members of Unite union. The same month, the local authority declared a major incident after 17,000 tonnes of rubbish were left uncollected on the city's streets. In April, the government was forced to call in Army specialists to provide logistical support. This month, Unite said it would review its relationship with the Labour Party after the government expressed support for the council amid the strike. According to reports, lower income areas, including Sparkhill, Balsall Heath, Small Heath, Sparkbrook and Ladywood have suffered the greatest compared to more affluent suburbs like Harborne and Edgbaston. On Friday (July 25), a second megapicket co-ordinated by Strike Map started across several parts of Birmingham, involving 26 organisations from across the trade union movement, in support of the striking workers. Former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn urged Birmingham City Council to 'get a deal now' as more piles of rubbish were left uncollected. 'I don't like the mess though and my kids can't use the park when they're around.' Advertisement One resident, a new mum, added: 'They make a mess, but it doesn't bother me. A lot of people here don't like it because the park is for children and it restricts them from using it.' This week the admin of the volunteer-run Swanshurst Park Facebook group posted: 'Spent another couple of hours clearing up litter round the Park. "I'm fairly sure that some of it was nothing to do with the Travellers and had been dropped last night by other people traversing the Park. 'Had some good interactions with some of the women who thanked me for my efforts and assured they would bag up their rubbish. Advertisement "We will see but I am sure it will be better than on previous occasions. "Some of the children wanted to help me and I am sure this must be the way forward to get a dialogue going.' A council spokesperson said: " steps to recover this land where unauthorised encampments encroach upon it.
