Ola Electric shares in focus on launching MoveOS 5, co's biggest software upgrade yet

Shares of Ola Electric are expected to be in the spotlight on Wednesday, July 9, after the company announced the mass roll-out of MoveOS 5, its largest software update to date.
ADVERTISEMENT The Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker stated that the update will roll out this week for all S1 electric scooters and Roadster X motorcycles via an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade.
MoveOS is Ola Electric's proprietary in-house operating system designed to power its line-up of electric two-wheelers. The MoveOS 5 update, according to the company, introduces more than 50 new features and enhancements aimed at improving performance, efficiency, and user experience.
With the rollout of MoveOS 5, Ola Electric has optimised energy management systems, real-time monitoring, and battery performance. The company stated that the update results in smoother ride quality, smarter energy recuperation, and increased reliability across all generations of its vehicles.Some of the key features introduced include DIY Mode, Road-Trip Mode, Easy Park, Live Location Sharing, SOS Alerts, Find My Vehicle, a Notification Centre, and infotainment widgets such as Cricket and Weather. These features are aimed at improving convenience, control, safety, and connectivity for users.

ADVERTISEMENT Ola Electric said the update is compatible with its Gen 3 platform and enhances the in-house Motor Control Unit (MCU) for better vehicle responsiveness. The OTA rollout begins this week, making the update accessible to users without requiring a service centre visit.

According to Tata Steel Q1 results, the company saw a net profit of Rs 2007 crore, beating market estimates, which had pegged the estimated the revenue at Rs 1765 crore, according to a CNBC-TV18 survey. The Tata Steel quarterly results revealed that its EBITDA stood at Rs 7,427 crore in Q1 of FY26, nearly Rs 400 crore higher than the estimated Rs 7,074 crore. The firm witnessed a YoY growth of 11% to Rs 7,427 crore from Rs 6,694 crore last year, it said. As per the Q1 results, Tata Steel's EBITDA margin surged to 13.9% against the estimated 13.7%, and improving over last year's 12.2%. The firm credited the strong profitability to strategic steps, including cost reduction and increased production. EBITDA margin rose to 13.9%, which is not only better than the estimate of 13.7%, but is also a significant improvement over the 12.2% of the previous year. Tata Steel management said that strategic steps such as reducing costs and increasing production have led to strong profitability. How did Tata Group fared in Q1? Meanwhile, the consolidated revenue of the Tata Group dipped 2.9% on a YoY basis, decreasing to Rs 53,178 crore against Rs 54,771 crore in Q1 of last fiscal year. However, the net revenue of the tea-to-steel conglomerate posted a higher growth than the Rs 51,531 crore figure estimated by market surveys, and maintained stellar sales amid uncertain and tough market conditions. Hyderabad: Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh seized bundles of cash concealed in carton boxes from a farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad on on information provided by Varun Purushotham, listed as accused A-40 in the case, SIT conducted raids and recovered Rs 11 crore in cash from the farmhouse located in Kacharam village of Shamshabad mandal. The money was found hidden in 12 boxes in a storeroom, along with several officials found that the guest house operates under the name Sulochana Farms. According to their investigation, the cash belonged to prime accused Raj Kesireddy, and Varun had moved the money to the farmhouse on Kesireddy's instructions in June had taken Purushotham Varun Kumar into custody on Tuesday after he had been absconding since the case was registered. Following the liquor scam investigation, key figures allegedly helped Varun flee the country. While abroad, authorities issued both a lookout notice and a non-bailable warrant against fled abroad in July-August last year, according to SIT sources. The Secunderabad native, who holds an engineering degree, had been working at a Hyderabad coffee shop, earning Rs 32,000 per month. He has dismissed SIT's claims as "baseless and untrue".Kesireddy said that the farmhouse owner, Teegala Vijayananda Reddy, operates multiple businesses including an engineering college, hospitals, and diagnostic centers with a turnover in hundreds of crores. He claimed that neither he nor his wife has significant involvement in these ventures, adding that his wife holds only a minimal stake in Arete Hospital."The money seized by the SIT has no relation to me whatsoever," Kesireddy asserted in his statement. He further alleged a deliberate conspiracy to prevent him from securing bail.

Academy Empower your mind, elevate your skills The government has extended the application window for the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) by two months to 30 September, the ministry of electronics and information technology ( MeitY ) said on initial three-month application window for the nearly Rs 23,000 crore scheme ended on Wednesday and has already seen more than 110 applications being filed, according to sources. MeitY was planning to extend the scheme after receiving a good response from the industry, ET had reported last the decision to extend the deadline was finalised after companies had asked for the same, industry sources had Rs 22,919 crore scheme aims to establish a strong domestic manufacturing ecosystem for a range of components that are fundamental building blocks in nearly all modern electronic devices. These include bare components such as Multi-layer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Li-ion cells for digital applications, passive components like resistors, capacitors, and inductors, as well as display and camera module for ECMS opened for applications on May 1, a month after China imposed strict export controls and licensing requirements for rare earths, of which it controls over 90 percent of the global processing capacity and the largest in April, Union electronics and IT minister Ashwani Vaishnaw had said ECMS will serve as a horizontal scheme that will support not just electronics but also the industrial, power, and automobile sectors and more during the launch of the application government aims to attract investments worth Rs 59,350 crore, production worth Rs 456,500 crore, and direct employment of 91,600 persons. This offers a flexible incentive structure that can be production-linked (turnover-linked), capex-linked, or a hybrid of both. Incentives are to be paid progressively over six years, running from 2025-26 to ECMS is the successor of the Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS) launched in 2020, which provided a 25 percent capital subsidy for investments in the manufacturing of electronic components, semiconductors, specialised sub-assemblies, and capital goods.
