Delhi HC reserves order on Celebi's plea over revoked security clearance
A different bench of the high court on July 7 dismissed the pleas by Turkish-based firms -- Celebi Airport Services India Pvt Ltd and Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India Pvt Ltd -- challenging the revocation of their security clearance by aviation watchdog Bureau of Civil Aviation Safety (BCAS) on May 15, saying there are "compelling national security considerations" involved.
Justice Tejas Karia on Friday reserved the order after company's lawyer submitted that the petition was filed on July 4 after a coordinate bench reserved its judgement in a similar case involving the associated companies.
The counsel said on Friday that the July 7 verdict directly applied to the present case as well, and urged the judge to pass a similar order.
BCAS revoked the security clearance, days after Turkey backed Pakistan and condemned India's strikes on terror camps in the neighbouring country.
The court on July 7 underlined the necessity to eliminate the possibility of espionage or dual use of logistics capabilities which would be highly detrimental to the security of the country, especially in the event of an external conflict.

Britain ready to fight China over Taiwan, backs peaceful resolution
British Defence Secretary John Healey has said the UK is ready to fight China alongside allies like Australia if tensions over Taiwan escalate into conflict, Russia Today reported citing a UK-based media group. "If we have to fight, as we have done in the past, Australia and the UK are nations that will fight together," Healey said, when asked whether Britain would help Taiwan prepare for a possible confrontation with China. However, he later clarified that he was speaking in "general terms," adding that Britain still prefers disputes in the Indo-Pacific to be resolved "peacefully" and "diplomatically, " as per RT. His comments come amid rising global concerns over Chinese military activity around Taiwan and the growing Western focus on the Indo-Pacific region. NEW DELHI: In a chilling twist to a suspected surrogacy scam, Hyderabad police have arrested eight people — including doctors and agents — for allegedly duping a Rajasthan-based couple by handing them a baby bought from a poor family and passing it off as their own biological child born through IVF. The racket centres around the Universal Srushti Fertility Centre in Secunderabad, run by Dr Athaluri Namratha (64), who is the prime accused. Among those arrested is Dr Nargula Sadanandam (41), an anesthetist at the state-run Gandhi Hospital, along with technicians and agents who allegedly facilitated the baby trade. Vizag referral : The couple was then asked to visit the Visakhapatnam branch for further procedures. Rs 35 lakh paid : Over the following months, the couple made payments totalling Rs 35 lakh. June 2025 : They were informed that the surrogate had delivered a baby boy via C-section. Rs 2 lakh extra : The clinic allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh as delivery charges and handed over the baby — along with forged documentation. DNA shocker : Suspicious, the couple had a DNA test conducted in Delhi — which confirmed the baby was not genetically related to them. According to police sources, the clinic had actually bought the baby from a poor family for just Rs 90,000 and presented it as the result of the surrogacy. "The couple were misled into believing the child was theirs. The clinic fabricated the entire surrogacy procedure, and forged papers to hand over a baby purchased from another family," said a senior Hyderabad police officer, adding that more victims may come forward as the investigation progresses. Police have also flagged that Dr Namratha had been previously linked to a 2020 child trafficking case. Further investigation is underway to determine the scale of the operation, the involvement of hospital staff, and how many such 'IVF' babies were in fact trafficked.
