Delta flight thrown into chaos as stowaway pigeons storm cabin at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport
Chaotic footage shows the frantic moment a pigeon burst onto a Delta Airlines plane Saturday as passengers tried to capture the rogue bird.
A passenger attempted to grab the fluttering ball of feathers with an article of clothing as other flyers screamed in the background, according to video obtained by news outlets.
The pigeon, which was eventually captured, was one of two that emerged on the Wisconsin-bound plane at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, WCCO News reported.
'The pilot gets on and says, 'Ladies and gentlemen, we have a wildlife situation on the plane,'' passenger Tom Caw told the outlet.
The other feathering stow-away was walking under the seat until a Delta baggage handler picked it up.
The two pigeons led to a brief delay Saturday night.

Australia's Minjee Lee in contention as US Women's Open golf heads into final round
Minjee Lee is close enough if good enough after making another move during the third round of the mega-money US Women's Open in Wisconsin. As fellow Australian Hannah Green fell off the pace, Lee carved out a one-under-par 71 at the ever-testing Erin Hills Golf Club to pull within four shots of Swedish leader Maja Stark. Lee was only two back on the back nine before a bogey on the par-4 15th left the dual major winner and 2022 Open champion in a tie for seventh at three under heading into Monday morning's (AEST) final round. Stark's third-round 70 earned her a one-stroke buffer over young Spanish sensation Julia Lopez Ramiro, a former world amateur number one who fired a 68 to surge to six under. Chasing a second straight major after winning last month's Chevron Championship, Mao Saigo let a three-shot halfway lead slip with three consecutive bogeys on the fourth, fifth and sixth holes. The Japanese sensation steadied and looked set to take a least a share of the lead into the final round until dropping two shots over the last two holes. Saigo is tied for third with compatriots Rio Takeda (70) and Hinako Shibuno (72), with American world number one Nelly Korda (73) one shot further back in solo sixth. After starting the day level with Lee at two under, Green posted a Saturday 73 to drop to one under and a share of 13th, six shots behind Stark. AAP

Flight thrown into chaos as stowaway pigeons storm cabin
Chaotic footage shows the frantic moment a pigeon burst onto a Delta Airlines plane Saturday as a passenger desperately tried to catch the animal with an piece of clothing as other flyers screamed in the background. The pigeon, which was eventually captured, was second of two that emerged on the Wisconsin-bound plane at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, WCCO News reported. 'The pilot gets on and says, 'ladies and gentlemen, we have a wildlife situation on the plane,'' passenger Tom Caw told the outlet. The other feathering stowaway was walking under the seat until a Delta baggage handler picked it up. The two pigeons led to a brief delay Saturday night. Mr Caw told WCCO when he first boarded the flight, 'everything seemed normal'. 'Then I went to sit down and I overheard a passenger come up to the flight attendant who was standing right by where I was, and she said, 'I think there's a pigeon on this plane,'' he reportedly recalled in reference to the first pigeon. Shortly after, the pilot told everyone on-board that there was another pigeon on the plane after the aircraft was moving toward the runway. That second pigeon took flight, leading to a frenzy as another man tried to capture the bird with his jacket, Mr Caw said. 'The woman next to me was quite panicky about it, and she said to me, 'Oh I'm going to need a free wine. I'm going to need a free wine out of this',' he told the station. The flight was brought back to the gate before the same baggage handler took the second pigeon off the flight. 'Delta appreciates the careful actions of our people and our customers,' the spokeswoman told WCCO News. 'We apologise to our customers for the delay in their travel.'

Lydia Ko prepares for Erin Hills watching YouTube as rookie Australian prepares for first tour start at US Open
Newly married Jennifer Elliott will play her first LPGA Tour event in this week's US Open as one of six Australians teeing off at the 'big' Erin Hills layout set to demand more of all players in pursuit of the biggest winner's cheque in women's golf. Elliott, from Perth, will tee it up at the 6200m monster that future Hall of Famer Lydia Ko called 'difficult but fun', having just one start on the secondary Epson Tour under her belt after finishing at Sam Houston State University in Texas. She earnt her way into the event through local qualifying in Texas, as did compatriot Grace Kim, who with 2022 US Open winner Minjee Lee, Hannah Green, Gabi Ruffels and Steph Kyriacou rounds out the Australian contingent in pursuit of the $3.6m winner's cheque. Wake up, Wisconsin! ☀ï¸ ðŸ'¸ @uswomensopen — LPGA (@LPGA) May 27, 2025 Elliot is joining the big time at the right time, with purses hitting record levels. There's more than $200m in prizemoney available on the LPGA Tour in 2025, and so far, through the opening 12 events, there's yet to be an Australian winner. Things don't get easier in Wisconsin on the brutish Erin Hills layout that Ko, who could get a step closer to a career major grand slam with a US Open title, learnt by watching YouTube videos. Not videos of Brooks Koepka's win in the men's US Open at the same venue in 2017 but instead a video of the Bryan brothers, Wesley and George, trying to break par. 'It's probably not the preparation that many of the other players did, but it was just a good way for me to kind of see the golf course,' she said. Lee, who made the move to a long putter after a back-nine capitulation while leading in the final round of the US Open last year, enters the tournament ranked 22, the lowest she has been on the rankings since 2015, having spent the bulk of the past decade in the top 20 and top 10. The former world No.2 hasn't won since anywhere since 2023 but is a proven major performer, having only missed the cut seven times in 55 major appearances and only once, in 2015, from 11 US Open appearances. Green, Australia's highest-ranked player, male or female, at No.8, has also made the cut in all six US Open starts, but is yet to record a top-10 finish.
