Here's what the redesigned Bruins uniforms for the 2025-26 season will look like

Now, it's time.
The team will bring back, with a twist, its dual-use, spoked-B uniforms it wore from 1948-85.
The black home jerseys will have a gold 'B' crescent and the road whites will use a black 'B,' with each 'B' keeping serifs that were added in 2007.

All the talk about a 'new' look began when the club's season-long 100th year celebration ended.
'Obviously, we've had a number of different uniforms, whether it's from the Winter Classic or the Stadium Series or out in Tahoe for the Winter Classic, and we always have looked back deep into our rich history and what was worn in the early years,' said Neely. 'I really feel like this is a jersey that a lot of people will be able to relate to and are very fond of.'

With the exception of the centennial season, the Bruins' black home jerseys have featured the single black 'B' since 1995.

Neely believes the return of the gold 'B' will not go unnoticed.
'The first thing we all notice is the color of the 'B' — that's very prominent on the jersey, right in the middle of the jersey and the crest, so my feeling is they'll pick up on that right away,' said Neely.
The Bruins did not forget to include a video that accompanies every brand or uniform refresh in the 2020s.

Neely, his longtime friend Michael J. Fox, and a current Bruins player who's almost unrecognizable under several pounds of makeup and a garish shirt, ham it up in the slickly produced clip that leans hard into the time-space continuum themes of the 'Back to the Future' franchise that starred Fox.
Fox phones Neely to tell him 'how cool it would be to go back,' which Neely somehow thinks is a suggestion that Neely should return to the ice.
'I've got four joint replacements, I can't see — seriously,' says Neely.
Fox corrects him, and texts him a picture of the gold 'B' black jersey.
'People love going back,' says Fox.
That prompts Neely to get on his office phone and order in the Bruins player to make Fox's wish come true.

Without giving away every second of the spot, after some flashing lights and smoke, the heavy-breathing Bruins star hobbles into Fox's office with a cane and presents him with the new black jersey, 'a special delivery from your good buddy Cam.'

'We have so many wonderful uniforms from our history, and if you look back, our uniform changes in history often signify a more significant transition, like from era to era, for example,' said
Cam Neely (left), Ray Bourque, and Terry O'Reilly (right) all wore the Bruins' sweater as players the new version is modeled after.

Also among the uniform changes: a new shoulder patch with a bear silhouette filled in by the word 'Boston' on the road whites, and 'Bruins' on the home blacks. There's a new hem loop and a throwback stripe on the sleeve. The Rapid 7 sponsor patch stays on the right front of the jersey.
Looking ahead, that should do it, for a bit, on the Bruins' uniform front.
'I can't see a change any time soon, but if we're involved in some other outdoor games, we'll probably introduce something else,' said Neely.

Nico Iamaleava's UCLA football jersey number announced

UCLA will kick off its 2025 football season Aug. 30 versus Utah. The season opener is slated for 11 p.m. EDT at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California (Fox). 2025 will mark the Bruins' first season with redshirt sophomore Nico Iamaleava at quarterback. He transferred to UCLA from Tennessee. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound signal-caller appeared in 18 games for the Vols during the 2023-24 seasons. He completed 241-of-379 passing attempts for 2,930 yards, 21 touchdowns and five interceptions. Iamaleava also recorded 435 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 129 attempts at Tennessee. He entered the NCAA transfer portal April 12 and committed to UCLA on April 20. Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee's final spring practice and Orange & White Game before transferring from the Vols. He wore jersey No. 8 at Tennessee. No. 8 is retired by UCLA, honoring former Bruins' quarterback Troy Aikman. Iamaleava is listed to wear No. 9 on UCLA's official 2025 roster. Fox News' host Greg Gutfeld to appear on Jimmy Fallon next week

Fox News late night host Greg Gutfeld will be a guest on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" next week, marking the libertarian-leaning on-air persona's first appearance on a traditional network late-night talk show. His debut guest appearance is scheduled for the Thursday, August 7 episode, NBC spokesperson Eve Kenny confirmed. Gutfeld is the host of Fox News' late-night "Gutfeld!" which debuted in April 2021 and has found success, averaging 3.29 million viewers, according to Late Nighter. The comedian and political commentator has long criticized late-night hosts like Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel. But he expressed a soft spot for Fallon during a Thursday, July 31 episode of the Fox News conservative cable hit "The Five." "I'm psyched about it because Fallon comes across as a great guy, nice guy," Gutfeld told his co-hosts. "Also me going on his show shows him that he's not worried about upsetting his peers." He then recalled President Donald Trump's guest appearance on the "Tonight Show" ahead of the 2016 election, in which Fallon was scrutinized for "humanizing Trump" after tousling his hair for a comedic bit. "But it didn't come from anybody but the people on the left who wanted to teach all entertainers a lesson that if you dare show that Trump is a human, then you're toast," he added. "And so it's kind of nice that he's taken this risk." Fallon is among Trump's late-night foes Though its unclear what Fallon and Gutfeld will discuss during the episode, the talk show crossover comes after Trump's public squabble with several late night hosts following CBS' cancellation of the "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Trump celebrated the cancelation on Truth Social July 18 writing "I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings." Colbert addressed the post in his July 21 episode monologue saying: "How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go (expletive) yourself." The president later made a jab at Kimmel, insinuating that his show would be the next to end before taking aim at Fallon. "The word is, and it's a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, (Jimmy) Fallon will be gone," Trump wrote on a July 22 Truth Social post. Fallon participated in the beef by zeroing in on Trump's former relationship with deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein following reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi had reportedly told the president that he was named multiple times in the government's files. "Well, guys, the big story continues to be President Trump's handling of the Epstein files, and now newly uncovered footage shows that Jeffrey Epstein attended Trump's second wedding in 1993," Fallon said. "You had the bride, the groom, the groomer." Contributing: Anna Kaufman, USA TODAY This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Fox News' host Greg Gutfeld to appear on Jimmy Fallon next week

UFL adds new billionaire co-owner Mike Repole, who promises big changes

The ownership group of the UFL has gained a new member in Mike Repole, the billionaire co-founder of Vitaminwater and BodyArmor. In a statement Thursday, the spring football league said Repole's private equity firm, Impact Capital, 'will lead the league's business operations' going forward. Repole, 57, joins co-owners RedBird Capital Partners, Fox, ESPN, Dany Garcia and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. The league has not disclosed how much Rapole paid for his ownership stake. Advertisement A UFL spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. 'I think today is the first day of the United Football League,' Repole told Sports Business Journal. 'It probably took a couple of years for them to get comfortable and have the right conferences and leagues. I think they learned a lot.' Forbes estimates Repole's net worth to be around $1.6 billion, a large portion of which came from Coca-Cola's purchase of his companies Glaceau — the maker of Vitaminwater and Smartwater — and BodyArmor. The beverage giant paid $4.1 billion for Glaceau in 2007, then $5.6 billion in 2021 to acquire BodyArmor. 'The UFL is thrilled to welcome a visionary like Mike Repole to our ownership group,' said UFL President and CEO Russ Brandon in a statement. 'Mike's entrepreneurial accomplishments are extraordinary, and his dynamic leadership will immediately elevate the league's business and brand trajectory.' Repole's other investments include NOBULL, a sportswear company that merged with Tom Brady's nutrition and apparel brands in 2024. He also owns the Repole Stable horse racing team. The UFL, formed when the struggling USFL and XFL spring leagues merged in December 2023, faced a 20 percent decline in viewership during its second season, according to league numbers compiled by Sports Business Journal. Game attendance dropped 5 percent from 2024, and was down in seven of the eight cities with UFL teams. St. Louis, the league's strongest market, fueled in part by the Los Angeles Rams' departure from the city, saw a 13 percent drop in attendance this season. Detroit did see attendance increase by a third, however. Individual games, on average, have drawn about 10,000 fans. 'The vibe hasn't been to where it should be,' Repole told ESPN on Thursday. 'You can hear a pin drop when someone runs 80 yards. That's not so good. Nobody wants to turn on the TV and see 10,000 fans in a 65,000-seat stadium. It's like watching a COVID game.' Advertisement Repole also told ESPN the UFL plans to move at least two teams before its next season begins, and that he sees the league's number of teams doubling over the next decade. 'We're going to be aggressive as far as being nimble and scrappy and gritty and making aggressive moves,' he said. 'If by 2035, if we can't have 16 teams, I'm going to consider it a personal failure. This is it. Other leagues didn't have the capital that this league has, didn't have the media giants that this league has, didn't have the entrepreneurs that this team has.' Repole confirmed long-simmering rumors that Columbus, Ohio, will be one of the relocation destinations, with games played at the Columbus Crew's stadium. However, he did not say which team will move there or which other new markets are under consideration. The current cities with UFL teams are Arlington, Texas; Birmingham, Ala.; Detroit; Houston; Memphis; San Antonio; St. Louis and Washington D.C., whose team (the DC Defenders) won the 2025 UFL Championship. Both of the UFL's first two seasons had 10-game schedules, but it has not yet said when the 2026 season will begin. It announced on Tuesday that 26 UFL players who appeared during the 2025 season have since signed NFL contracts, one of its key value propositions to attract potential players.
