Sarod player Amaan Ali Bangash "This performance was a tribute not only to the traditions we inherit, but to the humility and depth guruji stood for," said Amaan Ali Bangash as he played the sarod at the Kamani Auditorium for a recent event honouring Kathak maestro Kundanlal Gangani's legacy. He was accompanied by tabla players, Nishit Gangani and Shubh Maharaj. The sounds of the string instrument blended with the percussion made for an enchanting recital. As the evening unfolded, sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was presented with the Pt Kundanlal Gangani award by the Gangani family of kathak, for his lifelong contributions to classical music.
