Comedy ‘Don't Tell Larry,' Led by ‘She-Hulk' Actress Patty Guggenheim, Gets Summer Release (Exclusive)
Dark workplace comedy feature Don't Tell Larry is hoping to start conversations this summer.
The indie film from directors Greg Porper (Worst Birthday Ever) and John Schimke (Red Table Talk) has been acquired by Level 33 Entertainment, which is set to launch international sales at the Cannes Film Festival and release the movie theatrically June 20. Leading the cast are Patty Guggenheim, Ed Begley Jr., Dot-Marie Jones, Kenneth Mosley and Kiel Kennedy.

Don't Tell Larry centers on Susan (Guggenheim), an ambitious office worker who tells a small lie to her offbeat colleague (Kennedy) in hopes of landing a promotion, with the situation soon spiraling out of control.
The trailer, which is exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, shows Susan going into panic mode when she suspects that Larry may have had something to do with the death of their co-worker (Begley). 'We need to get Larry fired,' Susan declares in the footage.
The movie, which collected best comedy and audience choice honors at the Pasadena Film Festival, began its life as a web series. Directors Porper and Schimke made the film during the pandemic and funded it in part by selling off personal assets. The movie's team is using meme-focused marketing to spread the word, along with an AI chatbot version of the title character and a fake company website.

Guggenheim had a role on the Marvel series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and has more recently recurred on the series Matlock, The Spiderwick Chronicles and iCarly.

Jewish organizations, synagogues withdraw from San Diego Pride
SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI)–Jewish organizations and synagogues are choosing not to participate in San Diego Pride because of one of the festival's headline performers. Jewish synagogues and leaders said they decided not to participate after San Diego Pride failed to remove Kehlani as a headliner, despite a coalition of Jewish leaders sharing its concerns about Kehlani's participation in May. In the past, Kehlani has made comments against Israel and zionists and opened a music video with language that the San Diego Jewish community said could lead to direct harm. 'I have no objection to her supporting the Palestinian people. I do have an objection to her saying, 'long live the antifada,' which is dangerous,' said Lilian Faderman, congregant at Temple Emanu-El and LGBTQ historian. 'If people are ignited to violence we see what happens. We see what happened in Washington, D.C., with the murder of that beautiful couple. We see what happened in Colorado,' Faderman said. Several Jewish synagogues and organizations are now saying they will no longer participate in San Diego Pride due to safety concerns. Temple Emanu-el's senior rabbi, Devorah Marcus, and the president and ceo of the Jewish Federation of San Diego, Heidi Gantwerk, are a part of the Finest Community Coalition, which started earlier this year to combat antisemitism. The coalition said it reached out to San Diego Pride, but changes have not been made to the lineup. 'This is a really painful loss for people in our community who have spent years participating with great joy and pride. Many people in the Jewish community really enjoy being a part of Pride and this hurts,' said Heidi Gantwerk, President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of San Diego. Rabbi Marcus and Gantwerk said the Jewish community will still celebrate Pride in their own way with a community Shabbat and a brunch. Meanwhile, it still hurts Faderman to know she won't be able to be at San Diego Pride. 'It's really sad to me that the San Diego Pride didn't understand the needs of the community,' Faderman said. Hollywood is paying tribute to Loretta Swit after news of her death was announced Friday. According to a police report, the M*A*S*H star died of suspected natural causes at her home in New York City, her publicist, Harlan Boll, announced. Renée Victor, Voice of Abuelita in ‘Coco,' Dies at 86
Renée Victor, the actress known for voicing Abuelita in Disney and Pixar's Coco and starring as Lupita in Showtime's Weeds, has died. She was 86. Victor died at her home in Sherman Oaks on Friday night surrounded by her family after a battle with lymphoma, her representative told The Hollywood Reporter. Victor worked alongside the likes of Xavier Cugat and Perez Prado, who helped popularize Latin music in the States before she and her husband began performing as the duo named 'Ray & Renée' from 1963 to 1973. She began her pivot into television in the 1970s when she hosted Pacesetters, a KTLA program that spotlighted the Chicano movement. We get to do it again,' she wrote, though the official cast for Coco 2 has not yet been confirm. 'This is what we've all been waiting for! I'm so excited!
