Prediction and betting odds for Feb. 13, Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets
For both Golden State (27-27) and Houston (34-20), Thursday is the second game of a back-to-back, though with limited travel in-between. The Rockets defeated Phoenix in the same building on Wednesday, while the Warriors had a short postgame flight after losing at nearby Dallas.
Due to the back-to-back, both teams could have maintenance absences and/or minutes restrictions in addition to the usual injuries. Thus, it could be something of a ragged and unpredictable game, with players further down the bench perhaps getting an opportunity.
For the Warriors and Rockets, it's the first time they've played since Houston's thrilling Emirates NBA Cup 2024 quarterfinal victory in mid-December. That snapped what had been a 15-game winning streak by Golden State in head-to-head matchups.
Projected Lineups, Broadcast Info
Warriors at Rockets Betting Odds:
All NBA Odds via BetMGM:
Point spread: Rockets -2.5
Money line: Rockets -145 / Warriors +120
Rockets -145 / Warriors +120 Over-under: 221.5
Warriors at Rockets Injury Updates:
Rockets: Jabari Smith Jr., out, left metacarpal fracture
Rockets: Fred VanVleet, out, right ankle strain
Rockets: Tari Eason, out, left lower leg injury management
Rockets: Cody Zeller, out, not with team
Rockets: Jack McVeigh, out, G League (two-way)
Warriors: Jonathan Kuminga, out, right ankle sprain
Prediction and Picks for Warriors at Rockets:
Led by Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green, Golden State's core is substantially older than the one in Houston. That should give the Rockets an energy advantage on the second night of a back-to-back.
That said, since adding Butler via a trade earlier this month, the Warriors are 2-1 while averaging over 121 points per game. Between tired veteran legs and a supercharged offense, that could make the "over" especially tempting.
Best Bet: Over 221.5 points (-105)
Favorite Prop: Stephen Curry, under 25.5 points (-115)
Prediction: 114-110, Rockets

2024-25 Thunder player grades: Malevy Leons
The calendar has flipped to August, which means we've officially hit the low point of the NBA cycle. The next couple of months are the driest part of the year. Everybody has headed to vacation and awaits training camp to kick off the 2025-26 season. The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to enjoy their NBA championship. They had a historic 68-14 regular-season campaign that eventually led to the franchise's first title with a 2025 NBA Finals Game 7 win. They'll enter next season as a favorite to be a rare repeat winner. To reflect on their title run, Thunder Wire will conduct 2024-25 season grades for all 19 players who suited up for the squad at one point during the year. Eighteenth up is Malevy Leons, who had a short stint on the Thunder: 2024-25 statistics: Advanced stats: Significant Percentile Finishes: Contract: Thoughts: We've now reached the bottom of the barrel. Leons had a cup of coffee on the Thunder. He was signed to a standard deal as they dealt with several frontcourt injuries to start the season. Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams were simultaneously out at one point. The Thunder added Leons as insurance. He only spent two weeks on the roster. He appeared in six games during garbage time. He didn't show much in his limited time in the NBA, but spent last year in OKC as a developmental project. The Thunder added Leons as an undrafted rookie out of Bradley. He has a unique background, with some professional overseas basketball experience. The 25-year-old spent last year mostly with the G League's OKC Blue. He has a solid size and frame, but his basketball skills are still raw, especially in the halfcourt. Leons was brought back for the 2025 Summer League roster. That shows at least some level of interest from the Thunder. He started nearly all of the games. He became a steal machine because of his wingspan. Those glimpses showed why they're infatuated with him. Even though the NBA and G League stats didn't pop off, the Thunder liked enough of what they saw from Leons to bring him back for a second season. It's worth the investment. If he can sharpen up his shot and handle, he could be an intriguing piece. Moving Forward: Even though he had a pedestrian Summer League stint, the Thunder will bring Leons for a second training camp and preseason. He was signed to an Exhibit 10 deal. He'll have a chance to compete for the vacant two-way spot on the roster. If not, they will at least have his G League rights to put him on the Blue. No matter what stage of the team cycle they're in, the Thunder always love to take on these grand experiments. Most of the time, they don't work out. But on the rare times they do, it helps him win on the margins with their roster-building techniques. No doubt Leons has the physical tools to be an NBA player. It's now about seeing if he can develop some skills that'll produce tangible results on the court. Maybe he can be a defensive forward and center tweener who's a threat in transition. That seems like his best bet to make it to the league. Regardless, Leons' rookie season was pretty forgettable. He didn't do much in his short time on the Thunder. But the fact that he was on the roster to begin with shows an investment higher than your typical undrafted rookie. He's a ball of clay that can be molded into something. Final Grade: D

NBA Fans Marvel As China Welcomes Stephen Curry With Massive Drone Show
NBA Fans Marvel As China Welcomes Stephen Curry With Massive Drone Show originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Stephen Curry has landed in China for his Curry Training Camp 'World Tour', wherein he will be conducting his famous training camp for the next three or four days. Curry was greeted by thousands of fans who mobbed the streets for the Warriors superstar's arrival. Upon his arrival, Curry was also greeted with a stunning drone and light show that used thousands of drones to display a basketball swish up in the air alongside multiple-story buildings glowing with bright colors. NBA fans saw this video online and were left stumped at how warmly China is welcoming Curry. "A foreign country is doing more for him than the Warriors front office." "I was finna say bruh no way they make the net swish." "They ain't doing this for LeBron. They ain't doing this for Jordan. Face of the league." "China is doing more for Curry than his FO. I hate it here." "Very Impressive." "Better than fireworks." "This is so much cooler than fireworks. Can the United States get into this sh**?" The noteworthy aspect of this show is not just the massive display of a basketball shot, but also the Curry signature on the ball. The attention to detail here, especially, left the fans in awe of what a foreign country is doing for the Global superstar Curry. Curry hit the ground running soon after landing in China. From going on live stream to starting his training camp's first day within hours of landing, Curry seems to have a lot on his plate for this trip to China. Curry now joins a long list of NBA players who have visited China this offseason. Players like James Harden and Jalen Williams came earlier this month, and even Kawhi Leonard is expected to show up soon. China has a massive fan base of the NBA. It will not be a surprise if China is also involved in the global expansion league that NBA commissioner Adam Silver is planning. While Adam Silver is focused on Europe at the moment, China could be his next target audience. Global ambassadors like Curry could promote this league and bring it to a level where the champions could deservedly call themselves World champions by beating the best from around the world. Spurs' star De'Aaron Fox was also expected to join Curry on this global trip, but unfortunately, he had to cancel the trip a few weeks ago. While we do not know why Fox did that, having him on this trip would certainly increase the prestige of the camp. Azzi Fudd, the NCAA star from the UConn Huskies, who is also a Curry brand athlete, has also joined him on this story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Aug 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

NBA champion leaves OKC Thunder for Spurs
Such is the nature of the league, the Oklahoma City Thunder saw some roster changes this offseason. After a historic season, the NBA champions will enter the 2025-26 campaign as a popular pick to repeat because of the roster continuity they'll sport. There are a handful of changes, though, particularly at the bottom of the depth chart. After two seasons with the Thunder, Adam Flagler wasn't brought back. He was a two-way player who sporadically played at the NBA level. Flagler signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the San Antonio Spurs. He'll be at training camp with the hopes of getting another two-way deal. If not, he'll likely be signed to their G League squad. The writing was on the wall with Flagler's departure from the Thunder. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks for the 2025 Summer League, which meant he needed to find a new NBA home after the two-week event. He landed in a good spot that's still in a rebuild. Flagler averaged 1.7 points on 25.2% shooting in his two seasons on the Thunder. While he struggled to find his shot at the NBA level, he was a top-notch scorer at the G League. His outside shot helped the OKC Blue bring home the 2024 G League championship. Flagler hopes to extend his NBA career. The 25-year-old went undrafted out of Baylor in 2023. If he's near the end of the road of his time in the league, he has two seasons and a championship ring in his pocket. That's more than what other players with similar starting positions can say.
