Prediction and betting odds for Feb. 13, Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets
To conclude this week's three-game homestand at Toyota Center, the Houston Rockets will host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. Both teams will then have more than a week off until the 2024-25 schedule resumes on Friday, Feb. 21.
For both Golden State (27-27) and Houston (34-20), Thursday is the second game of a back-to-back, though with limited travel in-between. The Rockets defeated Phoenix in the same building on Wednesday, while the Warriors had a short postgame flight after losing at nearby Dallas.
Due to the back-to-back, both teams could have maintenance absences and/or minutes restrictions in addition to the usual injuries. Thus, it could be something of a ragged and unpredictable game, with players further down the bench perhaps getting an opportunity.
For the Warriors and Rockets, it's the first time they've played since Houston's thrilling Emirates NBA Cup 2024 quarterfinal victory in mid-December. That snapped what had been a 15-game winning streak by Golden State in head-to-head matchups.

All NBA Odds via BetMGM:

Money line: Rockets -145 / Warriors +120
Rockets -145 / Warriors +120 Over-under: 221.5
Warriors at Rockets Injury Updates:
Rockets: Jabari Smith Jr., out, left metacarpal fracture
Rockets: Fred VanVleet, out, right ankle strain
Rockets: Tari Eason, out, left lower leg injury management
Rockets: Cody Zeller, out, not with team
Rockets: Jack McVeigh, out, G League (two-way)
Warriors: Jonathan Kuminga, out, right ankle sprain
Prediction and Picks for Warriors at Rockets:
Led by Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green, Golden State's core is substantially older than the one in Houston. That should give the Rockets an energy advantage on the second night of a back-to-back.
That said, since adding Butler via a trade earlier this month, the Warriors are 2-1 while averaging over 121 points per game. Between tired veteran legs and a supercharged offense, that could make the "over" especially tempting.
Best Bet: Over 221.5 points (-105)
Favorite Prop: Stephen Curry, under 25.5 points (-115)
Prediction: 114-110, Rockets

Warriors add Australian wing in second round of Rookie Wire mock draft
Warriors add Australian wing in second round of Rookie Wire mock draft Throughout draft season, the Warriors have been linked to multiple different prospects in mock drafts with the No. 41 overall pick. Some mocks have Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Steve Kerr selecting a proven veteran college player that could potentially contribute right away, while some mocks have the Warriors adding a young developmental prospect. In the latest mock draft from Cody Taylor of USA TODAY's Rookie Wire, the Warriors went the international route. With the 11th pick in the second round, Taylor mocked Australia's Alex Toohey to the Warriors. The 21-year-old wing played the last two seasons for the Sydney Kings in Australia's NBL. During the 2024-25 season, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 10.6 points on 44.9% shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists per game. After his 2024-25 campaign with the Kings, Toohey earned the NBL's Next Generation Award, given to the best player under 25 years old. In 2022, Toohey initially committed to play college basketball in the States for Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Yet, in 2023, Toohey decommitted and played in the NBL for the Kings. The NBA Draft is set to begin on June 25 with the first round. The second round will start on June 26 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This post originally appeared on Warriors Wire! NBA Insider Reveals Why Kevin Durant To Rockets Hasn't Been Finalized Yet Amid Other Viable Trade Destinations
NBA Insider Reveals Why Kevin Durant To Rockets Hasn't Been Finalized Yet Amid Other Viable Trade Destinations originally appeared on Fadeaway World. A Kevin Durant trade this offseason has now come close to being an imminent reality as multiple sources say he could be traded even before the 2025 NBA Draft. It has now become a question of 'when and where' instead of 'if' Durant gets traded this summer. Advertisement A recent report from ESPN claimed that Durant had listed his top three destinations and conveyed them to the front office: the Miami Heat, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Houston Rockets. While the Spurs rejected the Suns' most recent counteroffer for Durant, the Rockets seemed like a viable option for Durant. But, according to ESPN's Tim McMahon, the Rockets also seem to have reached an impasse with the Suns over what is a reasonable price for Durant. On Brian Windhorst's Hoops Collective podcast, McMahon spoke about the situation. 'I'm best sourced in Houston, I think they would really like to have Kevin Durant, at what they consider to be a reasonable cost, which I don't think the Suns are considering to be an appealing return.' The Rockets have likely refused to include Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun and other members of their young core to be included in this trade. He goes on to list the other options for Durant, like Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors or the Los Angeles Clippers. Advertisement 'If you're one of these teams who aren't on KD's preferred list of destinations, how much are you willing to pay to get a guy who the threat is that he's a rental. Now Toronto's had a lot of success with the rental before, but Toronto does not have that infrastructure in place as they did when they got Kawhi. You could argue Minnesota, hey, conference finals last two years.' To be fair, he's right to point out that the Raptors no longer have pieces like Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby (who they had when they traded for Kawhi Leonard) to appeal to a star player like Durant. So Toronto seems like a less likely destination for Durant. However, the Timberwolves and the Clippers may be dark horses in this race to get Kevin Durant. The Clippers may have a big decision if they decide to get into the sweepstakes for Durant. They would have to decide between Kawhi Leonard, an injury prone star who hasn't seen as much success with the Clippers as he did in his previous teams, or Norman Powell, the veteran third option on this team who stepped up in Leonard's absence last season especially. One of these players will have to be included since the Clippers will have to match Durant's salary. Additionally they may have to trade one or both of their first-round picks in 2029 and 2031. Advertisement The Timberwolves , who reportedly have been interested in trading for Durant, could elevate from a confirmed playoff berth to a championship contender in the West if they get Durant to pair up with Anthony Edwards. They will have to decide between Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert on whom to include in the trade, either of whom would be an easy giveaway for Durant. Hence, they could be a serious contender to trade for Durant.
