SANTA CLARA, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said receiver Demarcus Robinson is facing a three-game suspension to start the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Robinson said last week that he was 'anxious' waiting to hear the final verdict from the NFL. Article content 'Just waiting on the outcome to see what happens with that,' Robinson said. Article content The 49ers are counting on Robinson this season to bolster their receiver group that has been depleted following a trade of Deebo Samuel in the offseason and a knee injury that will sideline Brandon Aiyuk for at least the first month of the season. Doctor charged with sexual assault at Nova Scotia hospital
The Nova Scotia RCMP has charged a doctor with sexual assault following an alleged incident in January. Police say they received a report of a sexual assault involving a doctor at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, N.S., in May. According to a news release Thursday, the sexual assault allegedly took place in January during an assessment in the hospital's emergency room. Sanjeev Sirpal was arrested and charged with sexual assault on Aug. 14. He was released on conditions pending a court appearance in Amherst, N.S., on Nov. 15. Police believe there may be more victims in Nova Scotia or other places Sirpal had practised.
