104 luxury vehicles seized in JPJ's Ops Luxury 3.0 crackdown
Senior Enforcement Director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan revealed the seized cars included Ferrari, Range Rover, Porsche and Ford Mustang models driven by locals and foreigners.
He stated the vehicles were impounded for offences such as invalid Competent Driving Licences, expired road tax and lapsed insurance coverage.
The operation saw 627 summonses issued nationwide with Kuala Lumpur recording the highest seizures at 93 vehicles followed by Selangor (61) and Penang (28).
All confiscated vehicles are being held at JPJ depots under the Road Transport Act 1987 pending further investigations.
Muhammad Kifli emphasised JPJ would not compromise with traffic regulation violators and vehicles would only be released upon road tax and insurance renewal.
He confirmed the department would intensify periodic Ops Luxury operations to ensure transport sector safety and sustainability.
Violators of the Road Transport Act 1987 will face strict action with public complaints accepted via MyJPJ's e-Aduan or email to aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my.
The director added JPJ's proposed legal amendments for stricter enforcement would be submitted to the Transport Ministry on August 11.

He said they are now reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) and dashcam footage from other vehicles to aid the investigation, in addition to efforts to locate the lorry and its driver. Foreign student remanded over Kajang knife attack
KAJANG: Frustration and extreme stress from studying far from home may have driven a 24-year-old university student to go on a rampage here yesterday. The woman allegedly injured several people during the incident, with two still warded in hospital. Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the suspect has been identified as a student at a public university in Malaysia. "She has been remanded for seven days until Aug 20 to assist in investigations. "So far, statements have been taken from 11 witnesses, including the victims," he said in a statement today. On whether the suspect was under the influence of any substances at the time, Naazron said there was no record of her taking medication or suffering from depression. "However, she appeared to be under stress due to personal issues, but the actual cause of the incident is still under investigation," he said. The two victims who were admitted to hospital are reported to be in stable condition. Earlier, media reports stated that a foreign woman was arrested after running amok and road users with a knife near a shopping mall in Kajang. In the 11.58am incident, the suspect had been driving recklessly when she rammed into three motorcycles at a traffic light intersection. She then exited her car brandishing a knife and attacked people at the scene. The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, Section 279 for reckless driving, and Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
