Senegal become first African team to beat England with 3-1 win in friendly
NOTTINGHAM, England :Senegal handed England their first defeat by African opponents in 22 games on Tuesday, beating them 3-1 in a friendly at the City Ground thanks to goals from Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra and Cheikh Sabaly.
Senegal stretched their unbeaten streak to 24 games, while England's loss, which included a disallowed late goal from Jude Bellingham for a handball in the build-up, was their first defeat in four games under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
England took the lead when captain Harry Kane struck in the seventh minute after Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy spilled the ball into his path. The hosts conceded for the first time under Tuchel when Sarr caught Kyle Walker napping to poke in Nicolas Jackson's cross in the 40th minute.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 62nd when Diarra fired through goalkeeper Dean Henderson's legs. Sabaly struck deep into stoppage time, prompting boos from England fans after the final whistle.

India tell Reddy to be ready for bigger bowling workload in England
India's bowling attack will need regular contributions from all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy on the tour of England with Mohammed Shami absent due to fitness concerns and Jasprit Bumrah's workload to be managed, bowling coach Morne Morkel said. AFC to ban use of artificial surfaces in several competitions from August 2025: Sources
SINGAPORE: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will ban matches in several competitions from being played on artificial surfaces made entirely of synthetic fibres from August, according to two sources with knowledge of the matter. This comes after the AFC updated its field of play surface requirements. These tournaments include both national team and club competitions, such as the final round of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, as well as the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League Two. CNA understands that AFC member associations were informed of the move on Wednesday (Jun 11), and member associations affected by the decision have been requested to nominate an alternative stadium for all home matches. This change could affect clubs such as the Lion City Sailors and BG Tampines Rovers, who will play in the AFC Champions League Two next season. The men's national team is currently also in the final round of qualifying for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, but played their opening home match against Hong Kong at the National Stadium. The Lions, who are top of their group, will next face India at home in October.
